Elite Event @ AT&T

Yay for Unilocal!My husband walked away with a Windows tablet. Cool. The staff there was super excited and soooo helpful. I loved walking around and learning all about the new technology. The new AT&T store looks really cool.
The only thing missing was that I walked out without winning a prize! Oh, well, thanks to all who were there I had a great time!

Leaving home with more time than necessary turned out to be a great move. After circling many times I finally located the new store.
i was wondering how an event could be made out of a tech store, but Unilocal always finds a way.
really great event to meet other Unilocalers and try out some cool new products.

Had an amazing time at this event. This is the AT&T store of the future. I can easily see myself dropping a paycheck or two in the near future. From the projector to the huge speaker to the U-​Verse system– as said in the lyrics by Freddie Mercury–
I WANT IT ALL, AND I WANT IT NOW!!!

I really enjoyed myself at this event although winning a beatspill may have influenced its awesomeness for me! The food and drink was great. The catering company did a great job with mini cheeseburgers, eggs rolls, and empanadas. They also didn’t skimp on the beer and wine list.
The layout of the store remind me of Apple stores, at least the one on 5^th Ave in New York which is the only one I have ever actually been too. There are stations throughout the store. Home entertainment, music, productivity and health, etc. We got to listen to a spiel at each station and all of the employees were super cool and enthusiastic about the products. I know I will be back to pick up a few things. Even if you aren’t in the market for anything when you walk in, at least go in and play with the gadgets. You can always save you pennies and come back to buy their cool projection system, a fitbit, a camera that can load straight to FB or instagram, etc. They also do home security systems which I did not realize. I find it pretty nifty that you lock you door from some remote location. If you want to skip the pushy sales pitch skip RadioShack because this store has awesome staff and fun gadgets.
A special shout out goes to Colleen who knows how to put together a fun Unilocal event. Who knew hanging around an AT&T store could be so fun!

The mini burgers were SOOOOO yummy just wished they were nice and warm!
This new At&t store looks so awesome! I loved the home security system where you can control everything with your phone! Pretty amazing technology!
The customer service was awesome, one guy even showed us his personal cell phone which he also has the control on his phone! I also loved the mini phone projector which IO work for a virtual school and I am trying to get my boss to order one for our workdays! Because our math teacher and hook up the ipad and play mini tutorials about algebra to our students! I gotta admit if I do buy one for myself I will be going back to Android lol because you can do so much more!

I was able to attend this event as a guest and honestly did not know what to expect. I was very impressed with the appetizers (mini cheeseburgers, spring rolls and empanadas) and stores staff. The environment was relaxed and open which made the night very enjoyable.
The store itself is absolutely stunning. They have plenty of stations to test out the bells and whistles of their products with tools to try out the cameras, sound, ect on their items. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed that they actually had stations dedicated to AT&T U-​verse and other home products that you are usually not able to see in other stores. The benefit to having this bigger store was evident in all the cool products you normally do not get to see or play with in the store.

I guess I lucked out — since I’m a semi-​frequent Waterford Lakes shopper I knew about the new store going in next to two of my favorites (Toojays and Sweet). So yay for not having location issues!
This was a great opportunity to really explore the store without feeling pressured to buy anything (because we couldn’t, haha). But it let me get time to really sit and play with some things I’d been curious about, like the new Samsung phones and watch. My favorite demo of the night was the tiny projector. If I didn’t have a TV already and had a bigger wall, I’d definitely consider one!
Swag flowed freely — love the bags full of goodies, and there were some great giveaways (sadly not to us, but oh well, just not lucky that night). Was happy to see non-​alcoholic drinks available as I’ve recently discovered I can no longer drink alcohol due to medical conditions. Hope this continues at future events, I wouldn’t even mind using my drink tickets toward a soda, just as long as I have that option!
I’d love to see more events at retail stores like this, because it lets you «shop» without having salesperson pressure to buy. Also makes browsing more pleasant because the Orlando Unilocal Elite are classy people who know how to behave in a retail store, unlike regular shopping trips with the normal crowds. Ah, if only we could get an Elite Night at Millenia Mall or Florida Mall…

I have seen the future and the future is this ATT store! wow. truly a great move for the ATT folks to be moving beyond «cell phones» and making it a full 360 digital life experience. A lot more comforting feeling and less stress free than the old stores were. I could imagine sipping coffee while working on a project here. shout out to Trung from the bokeh studio for taking great photos and the catering people for the delicious burgers

As Paul said, we also go lost. Without having a sign up yet, we must have driven past the building it was in at least twice. We spent probably 20 minutes looking in Waterford Lakes when Idalia stopped and asked someone. He pointed us across the street. Once there it was obvious we were still in the wrong place. But at least they could tell us it was to the left of the California Pizza Kitchen. lol
We made it! As soon as we walked in we were being closely followed by a gentleman with mini hamburgers. In my eyes, if someone has to stalk me, please let them have hamburgers! They were very good and we had to have another later.
After fighting off the hunger monster, we got into going to the different stations to get our card marked off. My favorite was learning about the app that can control jut about everything in your house. I want that kind of power! lol
I was surprised at the nice gifts they were raffling. Idalia had wanted one in particular. When they called the name, it was the nickname she goes by! I turned to her and got soooo excited for her! That’s when she told me she signed her real name and not her nickname and someone else won. I suddenly felt like that person that receives a fake lottery ticket from a friend… that moment when you realize it’s fake. She laughed so hard at my quick change in emotions. lol
A good night! And a very interesting learning experience for us!

The only downside to this new AT&T store is how far away it is from where I live. It’s very spacious, chic and inviting! On top of that it’s staffed by people who are really friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about new AT&T products. It’s a major upgrade from the AT&T store that I’m used to. I especially loved the look and design of the high tables and chairs.
My guests and I had a great time at each station, while also enjoying small appetizers and wine. One of the stations simulated the dangers of texting while driving. We had fun with that one, and the rest of the stations highlighted many exciting new products.
To top off an already great evening, one of my guests won a football signed by Charlie Ward. Besides my husband, the prize couldn’t have been won by a bigger fan.

Another great Unilocal event… once I found it! LOL… Finding this brand new store was the only glitch of the night. My phone showed me where it was but it was actually about 2 blocks south of the GPS location. The only way i found it was by looking for the Unilocal signs and all us Geeky people!
Once I found the store, it is beautiful! I spoke to one of the AT&T managers and we talked about the renovation that started in July. They are in the same location but expanded to twice the size when they took over the shop next-​door. The whole store was gutted out and rebuild from scratch. 3 months of hard work produced this amazing, state of the art technology store.
We were treated to two drink tickets. Top quality wines and some beers were there for the taking along with three types of finger food. Burger sliders, egg rolls, and fried meat pies all served by the nice folks from Cocktails catering. We strolled around and checked out all the different areas of the store. Whole house monitoring, AT&T U-​verse, wireless speakers, Camera phones, mini projection devices, etc. All state of the art… and I wanted it all! The staff was super nice and very informative. Being a iPhone user and was super impressed with many of the other phone available on the market.
After making the rounds at each station, there was a drawing for some great prizes including a windows tablet! (Another gadget to fill my house!) We were all given a gift bag with some fun AT&T stuff (sorry, no gadgets!) What a fun night and always great to see my fellow Unilocal friends…

This was my first time at an Elite Event and it was fun!
It was well organized, heavy hor d’oeuvres was provided by cocktail catering (sliders, spring rolls & empanda), and totally informational.
I love how the event was interactive with the 5 stations and many of the reps there was knowledgeable and engaging! I never knew ATT provided so many things, who knew?
The store is refreshed and it was unbeknownst to me they had gobbled up the Nine West store to the right of it and expanded the old ATT store. It was open concept but cozy. It had a mix of industrial with modern feel because of the wood beams on the open ceiling but then there was sleek white lines the rest of the store.
I had little trouble getting to this store, but its probably because I always driving around waterford.
Last but not least — Thank you to Colleen for coordinating this event and inviting to me to be a part of it!

Dang — such a nice event Unilocal and AT&T put together. Why weren’t more people out here?!? Could it be because they couldn’t FIND it?
My car’s GPS pointed us in the general direction, but since my wife saw an AT&T sign across the street (WEST side Alafaya), we went there instead. That was the OLD store, and I swear, it’s only the direction of the clerk («to the left of California Kitchen») that got us there, since the iPhone’s GPS says to go further north than the Red Lobster (go figure…)
Having arrived, we settled in. AT&T pulled out all the stops, with a beautiful store and knowledgeable, friendly staff. There were numerous stations, showing off everything from 41 MP cameras to cool bluetooth speakers and headphones. There was a station where they showed you the dangers of texting while driving, and another one where a giant screen (70″?) showed off the uVerse. All guests got 2 drink tickets (quality wine choices that included Ch. St. Jean Merlot and Cab, and Sam Adams beers), and noshed on 3 finger foods being passed around. When you’ve visited all 5 designated stations, your name gets put into a draw with some nifty prizes. We didn’t win, but felt like it was nonetheless a nice evening spent with Unilocal friends and cool gadgets.

AT&T got it right right this store. As one of the staff said «No instead of just telling you how cool something is we can SHOW you how cool it is.» And boy did they! You could check out everything from the latest phones, to 1080p 60″ portable projectors (it was the size of a small box of candy), to the new Samsung Galaxy Gear watches.
We had 5 stations where we could check out all the latest gadgets while munching on passed food and beer & wine. All of the staff was SUPER knowledgeable and helpful. Almost makes me want to switch cell carriers. Almost ;)
Thanks to Unilocal and AT&T for a wonderful event!

So I was pretty excited to see AT+T’s new vision for retail since I am a big believer that the whole telco industry is ripe for reinvention and disruption :) They totally delivered too.
At a glance: the retail space is very modern but given a warmer feel with wood veneers and brighter colors interspersed around all the clean, white product displays — making it more welcoming and less stark than the too-​cool-​for-​you vibe Apple stores can give off. They have made it easy to find and play with really awesome gadgets that you’ll want to take home with you, in an environment that mitigates the «showrooming» factor.
A lot of real estate is given to phones, as expected, with an understanding of the features — like great cameras — that help us differentiate phones these days; the rest of the store’s divided into several areas where you can play with products that accentuate your «mobile» lifestyle… audio products from Jambox and Beats by Dre, a range of mobile-​optimized home security devices, a U-​verse demo showcasing how easy it is to record programs and watch them across different devices like tablet and smartphone, and (my fav) a wearable-​tech section with fitness trackers from Fitbit. The event setup encouraged us to visit all the areas and chat with employees who were knowledgeable and passionate about tech but not at all sales-​y or overbearing; hopefully this same personality translates to the average person’s experience at the store.
Great food too. I almost never eat meat any more but OMG those burgers were so good… how many Fitbit steps am I gonna have to log to burn that off? :)

Another excellent event put on by our Unilocal Staff. This was a great opportunity to explore AT&T’s new concept store and enjoy their hospitality. I surely will return again when I need my upgrade. Thanks Unilocal and AT&T!!!
