Friendship Dock At International Gateway

As the name states, this is the Friendship Dock at The International Gateway. The other review by Yesi talks about the boats which are actually INSIDE of Epcot and take you across the lake to different parts of The World Showcase. Those are also called Friendship Boats, but it is not this particular Friendship Boat or Dock. Because they are also call Friendship Boats, I can see where the confusion must be.
The International Gateway is the back entrance into Epcot. It’s located between the UK and France in The World Showcase and it is actually OUTSIDE of Epcot. I know… a lot of people don’t know there’s a back entrance to Epcot… Surprise! =)
The Friendship Boat that docks here will take you to The Boardwalk Resort, The Swan & Dolphin Resort, The Yacht and Beach Club Resort, and Hollywood Studios. If you are going all the way to Hollywood Studios, which is the last stop, it will take approximately 30 minutes. It’s a nice, relaxing boat ride. There is no A/​C though. They do keep the doors open and there is a nice breeze that goes through the boat as it is moving, but it can get pretty hot during the middle of the summer.
If you happen to be staying at The Boardwalk Resort or The Yacht and Beach Club Resort, you can make the walk from the International Gateway along paths in about 10 – 15 minutes (depending on how fast you walk). For some people, this is a better option. Then again, if you’ve been at Epcot all day, your feet are probably killing you and the boat may be the better option.
Keep in mind that when Illuminations starts at Epcot at 9pm every night, the boats stop until Illuminations is over. So if you are trying to leave the Park through the back entrance, you’ll have to wait for the show to end to board a boat unless you want to walk. The boats do begin boarding the moment Illuminations finishes. They do this as a precaution because of the fireworks.

I love these boats they’re so convenient! The boats come around every 15 minutes and they run until 7:30. One takes off from the right side of the and disembarks in Morocco and the one on the left hand side riña from México to Germany. If you’re looking to get to the other side of Epcot quickly this is the best way to do it.
