Prior to visiting Epcot i had heard of the back and forth by the Norwegian government and Disney on how to incorporate the film Frozen into the Norway exhibition. At first Disney was going to have characters in the Maelstrom ride which focuses on Norway history. However conclusions were made correctly and a separate mini-exhibit was installed on the grounds called Frozen which instead of saying this fictitious story is a Norwegian one, they explain the Norwegian story and how Frozen was inspired by certain motifs. Its small but seeing it was still moving and seriously brings a tear to my eye to see agreements could be made to bring forth thoughtfulness, sensitivity and appropriateness. In this photo they explain the Sami are indigenous to the area and although they have an association with reindeers it is not all they do. Kristoff is stylistically based on this tradition. In a nutshell, its just really cool to see people working together. The only thing i didn’t see i guess they could add is the book by Hans Christian Anderson as that supposedly was the first inspiration for the film.
