I somehow stumbled upon Hinge’s website during one of my internet rabbit holes. I’m happy I did! I ordered 4 leg caps to finish off an ikea project. After I placed the order I received a phone call from Trevor saying that they couldn’t find a 4th cap that matched the first 3 pictured on the website. He did, however, take the time to find a set that looked similar and asked if he could send me photos to make sure I liked them before he shipped them to me in NYC. I honestly couldn’t tell the difference! He went to the post office to ship them that day. I’m blown away by the amazing customer service. They clearly value their customers and go above and beyond to help.

The people who own/work here are among the nicest people you will ever meet and they know what they are selling. They have a HUGE selection and gems can be found. I had to drag myself out of the lamp room before I ended up buying some Tiffanys. I did find a little bell ringer with my hometown on it for a $ 1.00. We had a nice time chatting with the owners who took us on a little tour of the store. It is a lot bigger than first appears when once walks in the door. This store is family owned and operated so they closed for the Memorial Day weekend with a family wedding(a fairly busy weekend for weddings actually). That might be a minor inconvenience and if you decide not to go again because they were closed, well that’s cutting off your nose to spite your face. Have fun at Home Depot!

Went by the store Memorial day weekend. This is a new business, right? Closed due to the holiday. This weekend is a big kick off for summer projects. This says volumes that they’ve taken the weekend off. I realize this is a specialty store. But it’s Saturday. Anyway bought what I needed somewhere else. Won’t be back.

Based on a recommendation listed here, I convinced hubby to drive the 35 miles with tolls. It was well worth the trip & then some! We are closing on a new house next month & needed LOTS of cabinet knobs & matching pull handles. The kitchen alone needed 63 of these. We went to Lowe’s, Home Depot & Hobby Lobby for the other room cabinets, but they didn’t offer the large volume(& style) we needed for our kitchen. When I walked in the store I said if this store doesn’t have it, no one will. Staff is friendly & knowledgeable & were able to order the volume we needed. Bought a knob & matching handle to bring home to see if it matched; was able to call store to order the rest needed by credit card. Store offered many other vintage items(we will be going back to purchase a weathervane) for kitchen & bathroom. I could have spent hours in that store!

Brilliant addition to the area, in a perfect location for those in College Park/downtown/Winter Park/Colonialtown/Audubon Park who might be embarking on a restoration project and need a few original finishings — whether you’re trying to find a replacement lucite caster for that mid-mod bar cart you bought at a yard sale or you’re restoring an old home and need a crate full of Eastlake door locks. They have over three million pieces in stock, representing over 100,000 unique pieces, I believe. The inventory was purchased from a retiring dealer at Renningers in Mount Dora and then moved to this location much closer to our bungalow neighborhoods. Hinge has a truly massive inventory of, yes, hinges, but also all the gorgeous crystal doorknobs, escutcheons, skeleton keys, cabinet hardware, lighting/chandeliers, weathervanes, doorstops — you get the idea. Styles range from Victorian to Craftsman to mid century modern. Pricing is about what I expected — similar to Etsy and eBay, but no need to pay for shipping and worry about condition! Friendly and knowledgeable folks, too. At something like 9,000 square feet, any antiques junkie could easily kill an afternoon browsing, even without a specific project in mind. Protip: If you follow them on Facebook, they do semi-regular contests where they award 20% off an item to the first person who can guess the provenance of random vintage items they post — good fun if you are an antiques/hardware enthusiast and good savings if you’re looking for a larger item.
