It was a hot day and everyone walked around the park with their ice creams. Ordered Olaf’s perfect sundae day and apple crips a la mode. Olaf’s perfect sundae day($ 5.59): I got this because I love Olaf and the blue marshmallows look interesting. The vanilla ice cream was not good and everything else tasted very artificial. Apple crisp a la mode($ 6.19): it was already melted when we got the ice cream. Bottled water($ 2.50): not too bad for Disneyland but still LOL They have plenty of seatings near the area. QUICKTIP: NOANNUALPASSDISCOUNTFORICECREAM. 2 stars! Hollywood Scoops is not yummylicious!

Adorable little ice-cream stand within the Hollywood Studios park of Disney World. Located just across the street from the Beauty and The Beast stage show, near the entrance to Tower of Terror. This spot served hand-dipped ice-cream, ice-cream sundaes, ice=cream sandwiches, and drinks.(The identical stand next door served snacks and lunch fare) Hollywood Scoops is next to a courtyard with umbrella tables and plenty of seating, along with a small amount of seating that is under a roof in case of the practically unavoidable afternoon Florida rain shower. This location became a great place for us to rest our feet, and the ice cream was a favorite of our three year old. Also, with the bold green and white striped table umbrellas it was an easy to find meeting location when our party needed a spot to «meet back up» with each other. The lines always moved quickly and the prices are very reasonable for Disney.

We ordered two brownie sundaes and no one in my family would eat the brownies. They were overcooked and stale. The ice cream itself was fine.

Take the road to the Tower of Terror… then eat delicous ice cream… no more then a 2 minute wait. And boy was it worth it. This ice cream is better then the little ice cream stands selling mickey heads. If u are hungry and ready to eat ICECREAM this is the place. It turned my grouchy girlfriend into a tame kitten ready to enjoy the rest of the park. Ps thanks for the hook up. :)

On my first night in Disney, before Fantasmic, I decided to get some Ice Cream at Hollywood Scoops. My show started at 9:00PM, so I headed over to the place about 8:00. The line was pretty crowded, and I also had to get back into Fantasmic before the gate closed. They did give me a pass to get back in, though. Anyways, I went with the Apple Crisp. Vanilla Ice Cream, Warm Cinnamon Apples, and Whipped Cream. To be honest, it was a terrible choice by me because I had to get back to my seat, and by the time I got there, my ice cream was soupy because of the warm apples. I would definitely suggest getting this dish and sitting down somewhere in the park. preferrably in the picnic tables just behind the stand. The ice cream stand features cones, a hot fudge sundae, and an Ice cream cookie sandwich. I wish I would have ordered anything but what I got, but you reap what you sow(I have no idea what this cliché means, but yeah). I think this is better than the standard mickey bars, but nothing special. They don’t do soft serve, which is a nice change up, but I had a taste for soft serve and I had no idea where the nearest location was. Nothing great, below average in my opinion. I was also annoyed that the girl in front of me ordered an Ice Cream cookie sandwich, and when they served it to her, she looked at them expecting something totally different. I guess she was expecting a standard IC sandwich, but whatever. I’ll look other places for dessert when I’m at MGM next time.

I grabbed a cone(really a cup of ice cream with a cone stuck upside down inside) while walking around Hollywood Studios. It was getting warm out, so I thought a frozen treat would be nice. First, I waited for way too long for a cone(AKA cup with an upside down cone). When I ordered, I paid, and then went to another line, with my receipt in hand, and had to turn it in, after waiting in said line, before having the staff make my order. Then I waited more, for the item to be ready. When I got the cone(AKA cup with an upside down cone) it was a bit of a letdown for all of the waiting I did. Next time, I will skip it. Never found out why they advertise selling a cone but actually put it in a cup with the upside down cone topping it.

Hollywood Scoops is a snack stand with outdoor picnic table seating in the Sunset Boulevard area of Hollywood Studios, right at the end of the street by Rockin Rollercoaster, Tower of Terror, and Fantasmic. After a late pizza dinner at Catalina Eddie’s, BF and I(okay, mainly me) were looking for something to satisfy our sweet tooth. Hollywood Scoops was right there and, after a quick perusal of the Disney menus app on my phone, fit the bill. Instead of just the usual Mickey bars and soft serve(not hating, just not my thing), they serve real hard ice cream and some different sundae combinations, like an apple crisp a la mode and brownie sundae. We opted for the brownie sundae($ 5.50). It was pretty late and there was no one in line ahead of us, and our dessert was served up quickly. The older gentleman who served our dessert was really nice and chatted with us for awhile about the parks and about our hometown — like always, Disney has great customer service. The only downside is the seating is the same dirty outdoor picnic tables(see Catalina Eddie’s review) used by the other counter services on Sunset Boulevard. Yuck. I imagine the picnic tables could be super crowded at peak times too, leaving one with no place to enjoy their huge dessert, boo. Though the dessert was on the expensive side, it was worth it. The brownie was huge, covered in two generous scoops of Edy’s ice cream, lots of hot fudge, and even a cherry on top. It easily fed the two of us and left us satisfied. Super sweet and a splurge, but so worth it! If you’re craving something sweet and/or looking for something different than the usual Mickey ice cream bars, Hollywood Scoops is a great spot.
