Being under contract to purchase a home recently in Clermont, we were in need of a home inspection. Being the most significant financial decision I’ve ever made, as well as being the structure my family would reside in, It was imperative that I find the best home inspector in Central Florida to vet the home.
During my research, I discovered that many home buyers dread the inspection, for fear it would hinder or kill their deal, or reveal a major defect that would tarnish their perspective that this is their dream home. We found that with Jim Nolan at Home Inspections by Nolan. He’s not the cheapest in town, but he came with highest recommendation based on his thoroughness, honesty, and personal references. The seller’s agent was less happy to see him — which indicated to me that I had chosen the right man.
During the inspection, I stayed at a distance to allow him freedom to perform his inspection uninterrupted, but occasional asked questions about things I saw (which he was happy to answer and explain), and he invited me to look at things he was looking at. It was like having your dad doing the inspection if you’re dad was a highly credentialed and experienced home inspector.
The report I received was thorough and accurate. I felt completely comfortable with basing my decision about the purchase of the home on this report.
In the home buying process, I was keenly aware that every party involved was in the deal for themselves. From the mortgage broker to the agents, the seller’s attorney and the lender; I never felt like anyone was truly looking out for my family’s interests, except our outstanding Home Inspector Jim Nolan.
