This was my first time participating in the Corporate 5K and for the amount of people that participated I was extremely impressed with the crew that set up and cleared out. I think that despite the weather, everything was handled really well, I just wish they had better sound for the walkers. We couldn’t hear anything over the sound system at the beginning of the race. So any announcements made were lost on those of us in the back. This isn’t your typical race, this is definitely a fun run, because it isn’t an officially tracked time. Plus there are ALOT of participants! Other than that, everything was great. Kudos to IOA and Track Shack! Can’t wait until next year and hopefully we can have even more people join in on the fun!!!

It was spectacular but too many people… more runners than walkers! Walkers had too wait long before they start, walkers were getting upset so some of them started walking with runners. I will definitely go next year!!!

This race has been a part of the Orlando culture for over 10 years. A slew of companies coming together for fun, fellowship, and a jog. This is my first year participating, and it seemed more meaningful because it followed shortly after the Boston marathon bombing. i will say, this race is packed! SOMANY tents everywhere and makes it difficult to find a specific business. However, there was an information tent that was helpful in giving directions. I feel this a fun way to spend time with your work team and to network. Well, kind of hard for that too – too loud for conversation!

This 5k event was extremely well organized. Over 16,000 participants, divided into walking/running groups. Loved the crowds of people gathered along the route to cheer everyone on. The introductions by the mayor and the moment of silence for Boston were wonderful ways to kick off the event. I felt so energized starting out that my pace was much faster than I had practiced. I enjoyed running with my husband and will definitely try to make it again next year.

So, so very many people. There is a huge crowd in attendance and your pace is altered to the downside accordingly. This is definitely not the place to try to set a personal record. For camaraderie with coworkers/the drinking of beer in a public setting/a slight bit of exercise, it’s not bad. For a passionate runner, it’s an exercise in frustration and I have no idea how I didn’t end up with a sprained ankle from all of the hopping over curbs, on and off the sidewalk, and around people that I had to do to maintain any kind of decent pace at all. The actual«race» part of the event would be much better served with a bit more structure to the lineup. Recommended, as long as you regard it as a social event and not an athletic event :)
