Jaca’s Barber + Shop

Hands down went there for the first time. Mind you I arrived thirty minutes prior to my appointment time. I got my cut done by Billy he was very professional and very detailed. He did not rush like a lot of other barbers in the area. The overall customer service was excellent and I will be back again.

Took my 11 year old for a fade and a line. Sammy was great with him and my son loves his haircut. Says this is his regular place from now on!

Just brought my son for a haircut, and was pleasantly surprised how clean the shop was. We had Christian cut his hair. One of the best haircuts he has ever had! And I’m a hairdresser, my son likes the razor blade on the sides and back that I can’t do. I would definitely recommend this shop!

I’ve been coming here every other week for more than 3 years. Mike Romero is the barber with his PhD that you see all the viral memes about. The environment is cool and casual, perfect spot for students nearby and young professionals in the area. Keep up the good work Jaca & company! See you in 2 weeks.

I normally go to Waterford All Star cuts but my regular stylist was out the day that I wanted to get a haircut so I decided to try something new. I saw all the great reviews on here so I decided to give Jaca’s a try. This review is going to be mostly comparing Waterford All Star Cuts to Jaca’s, since that’s what I know.
Upon calling, it sounded like the person on the phone was in a bit of a rush. I ended up being transferred to Hollywood, who set me up with an appointment within a few minutes with him.
I walk in and could not tell if there was a receptionist there or not, however, Hollywood had told me where his station was on the phone and noticed me when I walked in so I walked over there. I also brought my 4 year old son in with me to get his hair cut. The experience is not as welcoming or kid friendly as Waterford All Star Cuts. There is no kids’ play area like Waterford All Star Cuts, nor are there TVs for kids to watch. My son did become a bit bored waiting for his turn.
Hollywood did a fantastic job with my haircut. I keep my hair a bit longer than most guys do so a lot of it was scissor cut. Hollywood also took the time to shave below my sideburns and the back of my neck, using warm shaving cream and a razor.
However, one thing that they don’t seem to do at Jaca’s that they do at Waterford All Star Cuts is shampoo/​condition afterwards. I ended up going home with a lot more loose hair than usual. However, I suppose this isn’t a deal-​breaker since I always end up going home and showering after getting a haircut anyways.
This place doesn’t seem to be very fancy, or have any special amenities, but if you’re looking for a great haircut, in a casual no frills environment, this is a great place to go. Jaca’s reminds me of the old-​fashioned urban barber shops that you see on TV, where you go in and have a conversation with the barber. Probably not the most friendly place for very young children however, as there isn’t anything to keep them occupied and some of the choices of words among the barbers aren’t the most kid friendly either.
I usually hate changing up my barber since I have had a lot of bad haircuts and when I find one that I like, I stick to the same one. Like it or not, people will judge you based on your appearance. Having a nice haircut helps your appearance and can help make a better impression on people. I was very happy that I didn’t end up getting a bad haircut and glad that Hollywod did a great job, with such attention to detail for both myself and my son.
Overall, I’m really pleased with the service and haircut that I received and can see why there are so many great reviews on here.

Good place to get a haircut. Ask for Orlando, he’ll trim you up nice. I asked for the deal when I went (on a Monday) since I’m a UCF student but I guess they only do it on certain days now although the flyer in the tips says Monday-​Saturday. Would’ve been nice to save some money since I’m in college and on a budget but overall good experience.

Service was HORRIBLE! …the owner Daniel Jaca Mendez «Jaca» cut my boys hair and spoke to me in a way much less than the Christian that he portrays to be. He always has smart comments towards my oldest son who should not be talked to in the manner he does. I was dissatisfied with my son’s haircut and request he clean some lines up and fade a bit more and boy did he NOT like that. So when my second son sat down to get his hair cut, he insisted that I show him a picture because he as he said «will not be going back and forth» wow. what customer service. So I pulled up a picture on my phone and showed him. In the middle of the cut he stopped to show me and I said «I am afraid to comment because you just yelled at me when I didn’t like my other sons haircut». his reply was «you will know when I yell at you»…unpofessional to say the least. I will not be recommending him to anyone else. My boys will be going back to their original barber, Sammy who works there, but is much more customer friendly and my boys love him. Big mistake EVER dealing with Jaca. I only ended up with him because one time my boys really needed a cut and Sammy wasn’t there, so he offered to cut them… The old saying is true… IF IT AIN’T BROKE, DON’T FIX IT! … I guess Jaca knew no tip was coming his way, so instead of the correct charge of $ 20, he said it was $ 25…tipped himself. .my thoughts and comments to him are to recognize your customers DO NOT NEED YOU. YOU NEED US… Be blessed!

Hands down, Jaca and his team are the best barbers in town. They get it right the first time and they remember their clients on a personal bases. Great shop and Jaca have been the only barber to touch my hair since 2007.

My husband is been going to Jaca’s Baber Shop for years and he always comes home with a great hair cut. Jaca made him look so handsome for our wedding day. He is also as man of God and gives back to his community. We love participating in cuts for kids and Christmas gifts for the elderly. He’s not just a great barber he is a great person.

Best barbershop in town! Very professional and upscale atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the location is terrific.

Was in Orlando for a few days prior to flying out for international travel and noticed this shop. I can speak for both my friend and I when I say we were both extremely satisfied with the experience. The owner Danny really cares about welcoming you to the shop and makes sure you get someone to take care of you if you are a walk in. I definitely recommend completely. Coming from Tallahassee this was a refreshing experience.

My son and I have been going here since it opened. It’s an amazing shop that is very professional and clean. It has a great vibe and Danny is incredible! I have had to have other barbers at the shop cut my hair when I was in a rush an Danny was fully booked and they all did a really good job. My son though will not anyone else touch his hair. He says he would rather wait for Danny! We love coming here and look forward to it every time. The attention to detail and the «old school» hot towel and shave is always a highlight! I also love the new booking system! It makes setting up an appointment quick and easy! Having been going there since they opened I have noticed that they are constantly looking at ways to improve the guest experience. From upgrading the barber chairs to keeping the décor fresh and new they aim to please! This is not your typical barbershop!

I got my haircut here as an out of towner who was looking for a specific cut. Came in with photos and a detailed vision of what I wanted.
Jose was my barber. Cool guy with an interesting musical background and past. Great conversations. He’s Dominican which instantly I knew he was legit at cutting hair (my last barber of 7 yrs was from DR).
They have about 7 – 8 chairs not sure if everyone works the same time. I barely waited for a barber on Sunday at 3pm. The shop plays great Spanish music. You might find yourself moving a little to the beat from time to time.
Got out of the chair with 10lbs less hair and a seriously fresh low bald fade comb over. Jose can cut and this spot is legit. Whoever put $$$ above for price range is crazy! I was charged $ 14 for my cut which is less than half back in SF.

So what can I say about Jacas Hair Studio/​Barbershop? I am really pumped about my haircut. Also the head barber personally introduced himself to me, so I felt welcomed. This was my first visit so I had some reservations just because of moving to a new area and finding a new barbershop is hard especially for a guy. Now I know I made a great decision. First off, they play a variety of music mostly from reggaeton to reggae keeping the place upbeat. Also they have two tvs for your viewing pleasure. One sits in the front for the waiting customers and the other in the back for the other barbers. As far as their prices goes I think they are great. Back home in the Washington DC metro area most cuts ran for about $ 20, well here their prices are way cheaper. A regular cut is $ 14 which includes fades, blow outs (not sure what that means), and scissor cut. The mohawks are $ 15, kids 10 and under are $ 10, seniors $ 10, design $ 8+, shape up $ 7, beards $ 6, shampoo $ 5, eyebrows $ 4. They also have an X box 360 to play, not sure if that is for barbers only or open for customers as well. Every barber has their own station with cabinets and mirror. What I found interesting is that they have an air blower at every station to help with the loose hair and to clean up the station. They even use it on customers to keep it neat and clean. I am very impressed with everything I have seen and I look forward to many many visits in the near future. Oh yeah big shout out to my new barber Samuel. The man has skills to pay the bills!!!

This barbershop will not disappoint. Professional barbers and family friendly atmosphere. At the top in the east side of orlando. GREAT FADES COME IN FOR A HOT TOWEL SHAVE!!!
