Macy’s

A huge anchor location found at Fashion Square Mall on Colonial. This spot front faces out to Colonial, so it’s easy enough to find. It has the normal giant retailer vibe, and is broken down into easier to shop sections. It’s a bit awkward to go between said sections though, and you’ll find some empty /​half empty areas throughout, which lead one to believe that this location isn’t getting fully restocked regularly.
The staff is pretty nonchalant, and doesn’t usually engage you when you walk by. There isn’t too much foot traffic in general here, unless there is an event or something big going on. The busiest space in the whole store is the MAC counter, which has several people shopping it on the regular.

Like all things Fashion Square, it needs some upgrades /​updates.

Came in here yesterday to make a payment on my Macy’s card. It took me nearly 30 minutes to make a payment on my card. Three registers had clerks working on returns, which took forever. I waited at another register for several minutes, only for no sales representative to provide help. A sales clerk in the jewelry section left her area and went into hiding as I approached the counter. Another sales representative in the sunglasses department could not make the transaction, even after asking me for my driver’s license (?) then left for assistance, only to come back with no help. After finally getting help from a sales clerk on the second floor, she was able to get a manager to speak to me. I appreciate the time he had taken to talk to me about my concerns. But as for shopping at Macy’s, it will not be at this location.

Macy’s is Macy’s. Big department store, big name and big prices… Unless you catch a really big sale. However, they often lack staff and sometimes seems disorganized.

Moving a MAC in here drew my attention. But the selection is still lacking and I can’t really get over the musty/​moldy smell in the store. Not worth coming to this location.

Great mall and great prices. I love Milanos men’s wear in that mall. Fashion square mall is a nice and friendly mall. Thanks Macy for the Mac store

I’m giving one star. Today I was ignored at the Mac makeup department. I know I came in dresses in a tang top and sweat pants. I waited 15 minutes watching the 2 workers apply makeup to 2 guests. I just wanted to buy a few things and leave. A lady walked up to where I was standing and was asked if she needed help right away!!! Finally I asked the girl who was working there if I could have someone help me, she helped me. The guy that was there working expected me to wait until he was done applying makeup!!! What a joke. I will never buy makeup from Macy’s Mac at this location

3 Stars for a tiny Macy’s that lacks the exciting, happy feel of other Macy’s and doesn’t make up for it with attentive staff.
I know, I know, those holiday displays and cheerful employees at other Macy’s are all just ways to get you to stay and spend money– but I’ve come to expect it. Unfortunately, this Macy’s is small, lacks the inviting and appealing ambiance of other ones, and is also understaffed. Not a great combination.
I recently went in with my husband to get him a tie and dress shirts and though there were a few men working in the department, they carried on a conversation and completely ignored us (even as we checked out… Literally talking over our heads). It was bizarre and unfortunately wasn’t the first time we’ve had a lackluster experience at this store.
It’s also very old and just not pleasant to shop. I know that Fashion Square is often pretty empty and honestly kind of sad, but as a large chain that carries some very nice brands you expect more.
Not terrible. But also not great. Just right in the middle of «meh.»

I’ve always been a fan of Macy’s. When I was younger, I thought that Macy’s was too expensive, so I never went inside and only glanced at the store displays. It was only when I was in graduate school that I learned that even though Macy’s carries high end brands, they also carry good quality, affordable brands and items as well. During this most recent visit, not only was Macy’s having a special Sunday sale, but my Unilocal app alerted me to additional coupons. I was treating my mom to a shopping spree for her birthday and we were on the hunt for skinny jeans. Not only did she find the perfect pair of jeans, but she also found a couple of blouses that she liked as well and our entire purchase was a fraction of the original price thanks to all the coupons and sales. I’m already planning my next trip to Macy’s — this time I’ll be shopping for a dress for the upcoming holidays!

This store used to be burdines. Then Macys bought it. Macy’s is a good store with a wide variety of quality products. However Macy makes their workers compete for commission. So this Macys is continuously understaffed. Mainly the shoe department in the women’s section. I waited a half an hour just to fit on shoes this happens every time you go to this Macy’s. There are only two people for 45 women and it takes two to three hours to purchase shoes. This store is the most understaffed in the Florida area. Maybe in the whole world. So I just put my shoes down and went back to work with my broken shoes until I could go to a different store or the outlet mall.

Always a great place to shop for deals but this particular location has a small selection comparative to some of the other Macys in the area. But all in all still a good place to shop without having to drive far

Zero stars if possible. Have always shopped at this location but never again. Went in and bought a pair of shoes in the ladies shoe department, opened a Macy’s charge, and walked out having my identity stolen. Fraudulent credit accounts opened within days with at least 2 other retailers using the information the sales associate obtained when I opened the Macy’s account. So beware. I guess this is why they call the place Fashion Scare. It’s scary that the thieves there hide in plain sight.

I come here from time to time to shop. They have some great deals on sale items. The store does not have the ultimate in selection, so that could be an issue. They do have very good customer service, and the location is very convenient for me. I am usually looking for things like jeans and casual wear, and can find what I want. Their prices on sale items are often as good or better than the outlet mall.

MAKE-​UP Review:
Love the folks at Lancôme, they are pleasant, educated in their product and are helpful. If you need makeup consultation and cleansing, they will explain things to you. They will not pressure sell you, which I appreciate.
Note, this Macy’s does not have Mac products. I originally was coming into this store for Mac but the Lancôme team won my service that day since I was looking for one thing and they had what I needed generally speaking.
SHOES Review:
This store has a nice selection; however, I’ve visited other Macy stores where the selection is more plentiful. However, if you see something you want and they don’t have your size, you can order it and have it shipped to directly to you.

My family has shopped at Macy’s for many years on both the East and West Coast. The Macy’s on East Colonial Boulevard in Orlando is by far one of the most disappointing to have experienced. We went to return several items ordered from Macy’s online and were rudely treated by two different customer service representatives. The first customer service representative tried to quickly walk away from the cash register when we approached and tried to ignore us when we asked for assistance. The customer service worker then explained how she couldn’t complete our shoe return. When we went to the shoe department, the customer service worker didn’t initially listen to us when we explained the billing issue we experienced with the online order. The one thing common between the two customer service representatives both demonstrated horrible customer service. Take the time to drive to another Macy’s.

I was ready to give this Macy’s no more than 2 stars but the service I received from Sales Associate Javier Aponte changed my mind. This Macy’s is limited in terms of their merchandise. For example, the men’s department does not consist of one of my favorite brands, Nautica. Their tie selection is also a bit limited but I found what I was looking for. Javier was extremely helpful in finding items I was looking for and he was on point with his recommendations. I am always extremely grateful when I come across excellent customer service.

Great selection and a beautiful store. The staff here is super friendly too. Inc is a great brand and this Macy’s always has lots of parking and isn’t a crazy busy location like Florida Mall.

I’ve been shopping loyally at Macy’s for overr 25 years. No longer! the quality used to be amazing but now, I shopped several Macy’s and couldn’t find anything I liked, for the first time ever! What’s happened to Macy’s? Everyone I know no longer shops there and, instead shops at Dillard’s. My guess is that Macy’s reputation management will try to take this down ASAP though I hope not. It would behoove the company to take these reviews to improve.

I’m not really a department store fan, but this place is ok. My husband received a bunch of gift cards here, so I looked around at things I can waste the money on. I actually found a dress and some jeans at a decent sale price.
It’s disappointing that they don’t have a garden or appliance department like the other major department stores, but at least they have clothes, shoes, housewares, etc.
It’s also a bonus that parking is very simple and close to the entrance (especially compared to other malls in Central Florida).

They do have pretty good customer service as stated and that makes me feel good when I walk in here. However, one big pull to Macy’s for me is that they carry MAC Cosmetics. Well this location doesn’t have a MAC counter. Booooooo! I guess this mall does have a negative connotation because of the location and it’s older but it’s not as bad as people make it out. It’s a mall.
They do have a pretty good selection of shoes and watches for it being a smaller Macy’s. Overall it’s okay but I do wish they had my MAC!

This store makes me sad. I really want to shop here. It is a great location for a mall and so close to my house but they do not get the foot traffic that they need. As a result, this Macy’s carries a subset of the brands that you will get at another Macy’s. I went crazy shopping at the Macy’s at the Florida Mall a couple weeks ago and came out with bags of stuff. I needed to exchange a pair of shoes so I decided to go to Fashion Square. The plus side is that they were able to exchange my shoes for another size. The down side is that the shoe section was packed with only one lady working the counter. To her defense, she is good and quick with obtaining shoes. Also she was very friendly.
I was also sad to see that they didn’t even carry some of the products that I purchased at the Florida mall. Perhaps this mall is attempting to attract a different demographic or something. However I really want this to be my mall. I will keep trying.
