Mario’s Pizza and Subs

Very poor service. I went there with my girlfriend and we ordered off the sign which reads 7 days a week special… and we were told they would not honor it.
They insisted it was an old sign, and they would not honor the price. This is called «bait and switch» You advertise one price and then say either you just ran out or won’t honor the price to make people pay more.

Delivery was fast for a Friday evening. A small garlic knot order is enough for 4 people. Pizza was great with lots of toppings.

A friend took us here for lunch and I wish this place was closer to home. Although, calorie wise it’s probably better to leave this place for a special trip. Order the calzone and you will not be disappointed.

After I saw the New Year’s Celebration on TV, I wanted to have a piece of New York so I went to get an slice of Pizza!
My 90 years-​old friend from Venice, Italy cooks a a marinara sauce with perfectly ripened tomatoes from his garden and it tastes just like Mario’s!
This the true Italian Pizza NY style!

I love Marios ! I can eat them everyday ! You have to order their garlic knots !! They always have amazing specials and great customer service. Also, great wings & pizza. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Just moved from Canada & missing the food up north but I gotta say this place made me very happy, the service is awesome n the staff r super nice n friendly n the food is AMAZING, simply love it. :)

Mario’s White pizza is my favorite. Every employee I’ve dealt with here has amazing customer service skills. They really care.

Whet here for lunch one day. I was promptly greeted by a very enthusiastic employee, I wish I could remember her name. I ordered a 6 inch sub special. It was a 6 inch Italian sub, with french fries, and a drink. All for $ 6.95. Sandwich was very good and the fries were nice and crispy.
I noticed that the place had a very brisk business. Lots of people picking up orders, and ordering things for takeout.
This is a neighborhood pizzeria, definitely worth a visit. Can’t wait to try the calzones, and their pizza. Check out the photo of my sandwich.

Some of best food I’ve ever had. Most place just want you in and out here they take the time to talk and they know most of people by name when they walk in. Delivery is the fastest I’ve seen in a long time. Defiantly worth any drive to have good food and great people.

Awesome Calzones!!! Finally decided to try a new pizzeria. Unfortunately there are no quality pizzerias in Lake Nona so I find myself having to drive in order to get my fix. After reading all the positive reviews, I chose Mario’s and I’m glad I did. I ordered a Cheese Calzone, an XL Pizza and some desserts. Mario’s is located on Curry Ford, next to the BP gas station at the corner of Goldenrod.
The Calzones at Mario’s are super tasty and I think the difference is that they use multiple types of cheese. My little one loves cheese calzones so I ordered a medium one which looks more like a large. Mario’s cheese calzone consists of: Mozzarella, Ricotta, Parmesan, Provolone & Cheddar, that’s a lot of cheese! Most calzones I come across usually only have mozzarella and ricotta so the difference in taste is night and day.
The pizza is NY Style and it did have that slightly burnt crust that I am fan of. They also offer fresh garlic as a topping which is you’ve read my other reviews, you know I am big fan of. Not all pizzerias offer fresh garlic so whenever I come across one that does, I’m happy!
In terms of dessert, I ordered Cannolis and a Slice of Chocolate Cheesecake. The cannoli shells were crunchy as expected and the filling was sweet but not too sweet which is just the way I like it. The cheesecake was creamy and the chocolate layer just made it all that much better! I ordered everything to go and the girl at the counter was super friendly. She informed me of the specials so I could save some money which is always appreciated! If you choose to eat in, they do offer a few tables and booths with waitress service.

My «go to» place for pizza, and I have to drive a little ways from Lake Nona to get here. I don’t think Mario ever takes a day off. I see him in there every time I go in. You are going to be paying a little extra than the fast food pizzas, but I think it is worth it.

I have often order their specialty pizzas over years for delivery. They are excellent! Local Family owned.

My girlfriend and I had Mario’s last night and we were both super impressed. I got the medium meat lover’s calzone and she got the medium Philly stromboli. We also shared an order of garlic knots, and they were better than the knots at most other places. We both had plenty of food left over for the next day. The portions were huge, and packed with toppings. We ordered online and everything was accurate when we got it. We definitely recommend this place, and we’ll be going back a lot.

Was contacted and offered a 15% off coupon… The place cares about customer satisfaction…

Quoted 1 hour for delivery but they came with in 30mins! Awesome delivery and the food taste good to me. I ordered a pepperoni pizza and wings. Pizza was cheesy like I love it!

The pizza is to die for, but the waitress was amazing! I come back even more lately for the lunch specials and yummy food. This place is definitely one of my favorite food stops. I’m moving from the area soon, but I will be back as often as I can!

This place is right down the road from my home, and it’s pretty legit. The location is in a small plaza with a gas station that looks a bit sketchy, but it’s worth it. Mario’s has a great variety in specialty pizzas as well as subs, gyros, wings, pasta dinners, and salads.
I generally prefer pizza crust to be thick, so it’s a bit of a bummer that thick crust costs extra, but I’m not mad about it (it’s only .99). I just wish it was an option that didn’t cost extra.
All of the pizza and subs I’ve had here have been solid. I can taste the love and care that goes into each meal as opposed to corporate pizza chains where you can tell they’re just doing things by the book. I also recently tried the baked ziti with meatballs and sausage, and it was to die for.
The décor isn’t memorable, but it isn’t awful. It’s about what you’d expect from a local pizza joint. The staff is very friendly, and I never feel like a thorn in their side. Also, they have some awesome daily specials. The prices are fair and are even better when you factor in the daily specials. On Wednesdays, you can get an XL pizza for 50% off. That’s awesome.
Their website claims that everything is homemade, right down to the dough and salad dressings, and I believe them. The food feels authentic and I have yet to encounter a meal where I felt things were rushed just to get an order. This will sound a little too Gordon Ramsay from Masterchef, but you can tell that a lot of love goes into each dish.
If you happen to be in the Curry Ford/​Goldenrod area, and you’re hankering for some pizza, subs, or wings, give Mario’s a try.

Have good pizza specials on wed. Half off large pizzas. But other than that I wasn’t really satisfied about their pizza — not much pizza sauce and pizza is normally burnt as well.
I’ve gotten about 6 boxes of pizzas from them so far, on different occasions and I believe Last night was my last chance.

Very friendly service, I was pleasantly surprised.
I had called in my order and arrived five minutes early so the girl at the counter started talking to me and asking how my day had gone. There’s very little places that bother to do that anymore, they just wanna sell you something and get you the heck out, not here.
They have a great take out special where you can get a large specialty pizza for $ 11.99 and some other good pasta specials which I’ll have to try out sometime.
The pizza overall is pretty good, the only thing that I’m going to be picky about and that’s just my personal pet peeve is that they put the pepperoni underneath the cheese (papa john’s style) and I hate that. Personally I like it when the pepperoni is on top and gets nice and crispy. I’m sure you can request it otherwise, but just keep that in mind.
By no means would I consider them NY style pizza, but it’s a lot better than your run-​of-​the-​mill chain places like little ceasers, or papa johns. They are generous with their toppings and it tastes very good, give em a try if your’e in the area.
