We were eating at Capital Grill next door and after finishing we saw this place and wanted to check it out since I have heard about it in the media. We walked in and it seemed slow so I was able to ask questions to all the staff working there. Of course they said the place was the greatest thing since sliced bread… lol From reading previous reviews they must of raised the prices to get in since it is now $ 19 per person to get in… but they say that gets you the cold weather jacket and gloves to «rent». The next package is if you add two drinks to that and the price is $ 39 per person. We chose this option since I figured let’s experience this so we can say we did it… lol You can’t bring any phones inside which is because they want to sell you the pictures afterwards. You don’t realize this until your inside and there is a kid taking pics of everything. They tell you your phones will melt the ice or some BS but it’s really so they could sell photos. What a joke. The place is small but” cool” to check out and experience but the novelty wears off real fast. The drink list is small since limited bar inside. They serve you in small glasses made of ice which is a neat gimmick since they hold very little liquid inside. We drank out two drinks and exited. As we denied the $ 20 price for the«photo» we walked out to a big gaggle of non-English speaking tourists and laughed as this is the only way this place survives. Can’t post photos since I didn’t know I had to hide my phone to bring it inside to get pics

Over priced. Service was slow. Manager seemed like he could care less when expressed our complaint of the service. This is a gimmick bar. Embarrassed I took my date here. Wish our hotel wouldn’t have recommended it. Will never go here again. So many better places nearby.

Lied to us over the phone about cover charge, asked for the person I spoke to over the phone… no such person and manager was very rude so we walked out.

Boycott this establishment. They denied my entrance in my attempt to provide and promote more business. We were treated well during the program, but by myself it was a horrible experience. Dallas M. Was the least professional manager on duty,

So it’s overpriced and a major bummer you can’t take your phone it. But it’s fun. Drinks were good, the faux fur coat upgrade is fabulous, and where else can you be freezing cold in Orlando. Glad we went and bought the photograph to prove it.

Too funny. We were out with a group of five, and we’d never been to Orlando together. After a few drinks and some apps, we decided to hit the town and see what was happening. When we ran across the Minus5 Ice Bar, we decided: «why not?» I can tell you, it was the best decision we made that night(and we made a few bad ones, LOL) Staff was killer. They whisked us in, walked us through it and suited us up. We got the pimptronic 6000 fur coats, because, well, c’mon. I don’t get to wear a white fur coat every day and sip cocktails in sub-zero temps, so I’m all in! The manager was awesome– his name was Todd Ryland. He took pictures of us, even posed us into some great shots, which I thought was awesome. Friendly, fun and a real pro. Dallas was out bartender– this guy is insane. Great personality and made a drink that could give a nun a black eye. Two thumbs up! As somebody who travels a lot and visits a ton of nightlife, this little stopover was really cool. Everybody agreed at the end of the evening: totally worth the money, and the most fun we had all night. Highly recommended.

The experience is cool, but gets old fast due to the fact that it is freezing in there. Also the card game they play from the front counter to the bartender in back as if they’re not in unison. Let’s see, they also do not allow anything that generates heat in the ice bar area, but others were in there snapping photos. Eventually they got kicked out– wish we would have not been honest and stuck our phones in the locker, i would rather have taken a bunch of cool photos for free than pay their fee for photos. Sadly we were told that they post them all online but we found out they’re watermarked(so now we’re caving in for these expensive ass things!) overall not worth it.

I was in town for the Florida Association of REALTORS state convention when we saw Minus 5! We were welcomed, myself and a group of 4 others, with excitement! Todd, the manager, was extra helpful and made sure we were well taken care of. When we went into the bar we met Dallas, the bar tender, who as it turns out, has known my husband for several years!!! We had such a good time. The drinks were cold(LOL), service was awesome and the pictures we took were hilarious. Thanks so much!!!

I’m sorry, we had a blast! The kids are allowed until 9 pm. The idea alone is great for fun family time. Great bartender and sofa for the kids. Worth a trip in! I could see a dance party in there and you stay watm!

While a cool place(pun intended), if you walk a bit further just a few blocks away is Ice Bar which is a far better experience. Minus 5 Ice Bar is decent but expensive and is literally ONLY the ice bar — versus Ice Bar which is also a regular bar or the«fire bar» as it’s referred to there offering another bar and dance club and the option to go in and out of as many times as you want — a nice feature when, let’s face it, more people can only stand to be in the ice cooler for a handful of minutes at a time. Minus 5 Ice Bar once inside looks fun but it’s small and expensive. Bottom line — skip it and check out the other Ice Bar not far away offering more of an experience. It’s «cooler» — pun intended. ;)

They did a great job at hosting the event for probably close to 200(or more) people who came through. The cold room stayed cool and they were quick making drinks. Great experience.

This place is very cool and a neat experience but way to expensive. It really infuriated me that they wouldn’t let you take your own photos. I wasn’t about to put my phone in the lockers so we were able to snap a couple crapy photos. I went online today to look at the pictures and they charge you $ 20 for a single photo! C’mon. They charge a cover charge fee just to walk through the door, $ 10 – 15 for a single drink, and now they are going to scam you out of a picture. I gave it 3 stars because I did enjoy myself and it was a neat experience to try once.

Great great great. Excellent place and totally new experience. This place is literary cool. You have to wear a jacket or can upgrade to better one for 10 dollars. Every thing including the drink glass is made of ice. We stayed there for 30 minutes. Had few drinks and fun. They upload the pictures on line which can been seen after 24 hours. If you go to Orlando you must visit this place. I would love to have some thing like this in Bako.

I attended an event there yesterday. It was a good thing it was free because I couldn’t foresee paying $ 14+ cover and one shot. It is so cold!!! Not a place to lounge and sip… no wonder they offer shots. The staff seemed overwhelmed, especially the coat check lady. It was very disorganized. A tourist trap offering to take a professional photo for additional $$$$ of our group as they do not allow you to bring your phone in for pictures. I have been to Ice at the Gaylord Palms and they encourage you to take pictures, etc. Overall disappointed. Not as much fun as I thought it would be;(

Where do I began? This place is a complete joke! Don’t even waste your time or energy. The cover fee is absolutely ridiculous with 17 dollars I can buy 3 more drinks or even tip the waitress. The hostess was rude. Overall 98% of the reviews here are right. This place sucks. Big time

Ok, where do i begin… 1. Cover charge for this place is outrageous, i realize its on Idrive and in the middle of tourist central but come on, $ 17.00 to walk in the door and be given a jacket and a pair of mittens??? 2. My buddy wanted to go so i made him pay and he agreed, because i wasn’t about to… there were about 4 people in front of us and it took about 10 – 15 minutes in line to finally get passed the cashier who makes you give them your credit card and they give you this lanyard you wear around your neck. When you leave the bar you give the lanyard back and they check to see if you bought any drinks because the bartenders mark it. Then you get your card back. 3. I saw them making people put their phones in the lockers, i wasn’t going to part with my new S5 that east so I just stuck it in my back pocket and when asked if i had a phone i told the girl i didn’t have one. I asked what the big deal about the phones were and she said«the signal cell phones emit melts our ice». Ok, when she said that she would have been better off just saying the truth«we dont want you to take your own pics because we have someone inside doing it and well get $ 20.00 out of you for a picture!» Either way once escorted in i was snapping lots of pics. 4. Waiting in line again to get to the bar, which only houses one bartender. Stood in line probably 10 minutes ago. When we finally got to the bar my buddy got a mixed drink and i asked what type of beer they had. they said they were only allowed to serve«Budweiser Platinum»… nasty! Anyways, i got a beer and she poured it in the small ice glass, i told her ill be happy to drink from the can and she said she couldn’t do that. She sat my beer behind the counter and told me when i was ready for a refill to come up to the bar again, which means wait in line again, for a refill from my beer that has now been left sitting open… Really??? 5. The place was VERY small, probably 6 – 700 sq foot if that? I would say you could probably fit about 15 people in the bar comfortably. 6. They should be charging at the most $ 5 – 10 to get in this place and get some more bartenders, not cool to keep people in line out front for what seemed like ever then bring them in the bar and make them wait in line again. I forgot to mention if you want to go to the bathroom you have to exit the icebar which lands you back in the lobby. Final thoughts: This place is a oversized meat cooler with some ice statues. The staff were all VERYVERY nice and professional, but the venue itself in my opinion was a complete joke. I live in Orlando and have seen this place a thousand times, and now i know what its about. Save your cash and go over to the pub or Twin Peaks which has the 29 degree beer if you must drink in arctic conditions!

If you’re looking for a different type of bar experience, this is it. Very similar to The Ice Bar in O-Town, but here there is no time limit. You can freeze your tail off for hours if you like. LOL There’s a pretty hefty cover charge at $ 17 per person to get in, but that does include the gear you’ll need inside the icy bar like a heavy duty coat. They also have lockers which are free to use so you can store your stuff. I’m not sure if it’s an all the time thing or not, but the night we were here they were giving out cards outside for a free shot. They had only been open for a few days, so it may have just been a limited time promotional thing trying to get people in. As the name of the bar implies, everything inside is made of ice, right down to the glasses you drink from. They do have warm bearskins thrown over the ice benches so you can at least sit down without being directly on the ice. All of the ice is really beautiful too; the LED lights they have that illuminated it and change colours make it even prettier. They do allow kids in here until 9pm. A bar(made of really cool ice or not) isn’t exactly a place I’d bring my kids too, but hey, whatever floats your boat, I guess. Even though it’s a pretty cool(haha… pun) place, it’s more of a touristy kinda place, IMHO. It’s also located at Pointe Orlando… not one of my favourite places. I’m not going to go into Pointe Orlando in this review, but if you’d like to read my review of Pointe Orlando and the issues I have with it, you can do that here: All in all, a neat experience to do once, but beyond that, not so much. Especially with the astronomical cover fee they charge. Also, like one other person said, don’t wear flip-flops… your toes may never forgive you!

Located in Pointe Orlando, right near the Marlow’s Tavern, Minus5° Ice Bar is a cool place to check out.(only pun!) Seriously, if you are overheated and tired from a day of walking around the I-drive area, I would happily pay $ 17 to pop in here for a while and get refreshed and re-energized. After gearing up in the anti chamber, you step into the Minus5° Ice Bar, which is made entirely of ice. Currently, it’s got a tropical FL theme, so there is a Palm Tree room, a space shuttle bench, Ice wave w/Surfboard photo op area, mermaid and tons of sea life frozen into ice, or carved into ice. The glasses are made of ice, so you have to wear gloves and use a coaster or your ice glass will slide right off the carved ice table tops. The specialty drinks are tasty, or you can just get your standard favorite. The adventurous can go for the Shot-ski, where several people line up and do a shot, where the ice shot glasses are attached to a snow ski. There are LED lights in many of the ice surfaces, so the light show is very pretty and there is always something catching your attention. Kids are allowed at a discounted rate until 9PM, so plan accordingly. Our visit, there were no kids, but I could see how this would be very fun to bring your child to, especially those who love the movie Frozen. There is no limit on the time you can spend in here and you can go back and forth between the Ice Bar and the lobby. We stayed about 2 hours and were fine, even with me in flip flops.
