This place is incredible. Wife and I got arepas with shredded beef avocado and cheese, black beans and rice, and plantains. We also got one of the fresh juices which was amazing and only $ 2.75 It’s going to be our new go to spot for lunch.

As a Zumba instructor, I make lots of friends from many different countries. One friend from Venezuela sang the praises of this new spot. Since I’ve never had an arepa, I decided to check them out(right after a 650 cal burning Zumba class, of course!) The restaurant is in a small plaza with a few other places to eat, a tax prep place and a karate studio, all behind the BP on Curry Ford Rd. I say this because you would never spot this from the road, you’d need to be looking for it. The space is clean and bright, the furniture is all new and modern. The bar is granite! There’s seating for around 30 inside and 16 outside. I came at noon on a Wednesday, so they weren’t too busy. The ladies at the counter took my order and helped guide my choices. They are native Venezuelans but their English was good. They had a Unilocal check in order for free coffee. And they offer Lavazza at the espresso bar. I went with an arepa with chicken, Guayanese cheese and avocado. Then I added on a fried snapper lunch – just in case this arepa thing didn’t work out for my palate. It took 20 minutes for my order to be prepared, even though I was the only one in the restaurant. But it was worth the wait! The fish was excellent – I swear it was fresh caught. Crispy, juicy and nicely seasoned. Served with limes. The side of black beans were well cooked and delicious. I’m a sucker for fried plantains so needless to say that side dish made my mouth very happy. The arepa was good but I have no basis for comparison. It was a bit greasy on the bottom, so I needed extra napkins. I would recommend this spot for families looking to try something new. But kids would need to be patient because fresh food takes a while to prepare. Maybe they should offer some of those crayon packs – maybe they do – I didn’t have my son with me, but I will update when I bring him on my next visit. I only wish I had ordered some of the variety of fresh juices and drinks. I didn’t see that part of the menu until I got home. Soursop, mango, passion fruit? Yes!

A very cute authentic Venezuelan restaurant! I got the shredded beef arepa with handmade cheese with onion and it was out of this world delicious! My boyfriend had a cachapa, tequeños, and mini arepas… He was a very happy full man! Also, they have fresh squeezed fruit juices… The passion fruit juice was delicious! I’m typically not the biggest fan of tostones, but here I loved them, not too hard and served with a wonderful garlic sauce. If you have a picky friend, their simple grilled chicken and French fries were also good. The staff is so friendly and they work really really hard. Very accommodating to their guests. Not the fastest place to eat if they are busy, but that’s fine by me. The food is really really awesome. Will definitely be back and bringing lots of friends with me

I went there with my family this weekend and had an awful experience. The food is just OK. We waited over an hour for our food, my kids order came out wrong and we never got my kids’ drinks. Ate the worse Hallaca I ever had(and paid $ 8.5 for just the Hallaca), the tequenos were good, the pepitos were nothing special. Everyone had to wait for ever for their food and I noticed some customers complaining because their orders also came out wrong. The owner was very unfriendly and rude. Won’t be coming back for sure. For better food and service, just go to Taka Takas.

Brand new Venezuelan food spot in the area. Great service and amazing food. Was there the day after they opened to grab a cachapa and an arepa and will definitely be stopping by again soon.
