Old Cuban Cafe

The service is wonderful, as is the food. The desserts are amazing, and the interior is adorable. Small businesses like this are the backbone of what it means to live in Florida. The essence of Cuba is strong with this one.

The parcha shake was great but it couldn’t make up for the rest of the experience. The staff was nice but inefficient. A sandwich order took over half an hour, I assume because they lost the order somewhere as other orders didn’t take as long. To their credit I did not have to repeat my order after asking about it so they must have found it.
I witnessed several other service issues while I was there: a request for an extra plate taking so long the couple finished eating by the time it arrived, slow refills, etc.
I ordered a Cuban sandwich, a staple at a Cuban restaurant, right? Meh. The bread was good but everything else was sub-​par. To include the meat being cold despite the sandwich being hot pressed. The portion was large & it came with unseasoned fries.
To wrap up the experience I asked for water before getting my sandwich as I had finished my (delicious) passion fruit shake due to the prolonged wait. It never arrived.
I decided to pay at the cashier as I was concerned getting a check at the table would be as slow as the food was.

Great fresh food, finally an awesome Cuban restaurant in my backyard which will spare me a 3.5hr road trip to Miami. I went for lunch and the servings were huge and price reasonable. The vaca frita was amazing … served with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. Hit the spot. Taking a star away for slow service, but servers helpful & cheerful. Will definitely come again!

Great food, great atmosphere, great prices and a friendly staff!!! This place is one of my favorite spots in Orlando for authentic Cuban food. For under $ 10 you can feast and still take some home. The decoration and the people that frequent here make this place very lively and fun.
