This. Is. Awesome. First of all, it’s exactly how I pictured the wand shop based on the books. The staff here is SUPER helpful, and they’ll help you find the right wand. Remember, the wand chooses the wizard, not the other way around. There are a few different displays of cool wands, and the wood they are made from. Super cool to take pictures of. You have the option of a regular wand or an interactive wand… might I suggest the interactive wand. How else will you do spells all over the park?

The wand-choosing ceremony was a once in a lifetime experience for an HP fanatic like myself. The actor playing Ollivander chooses you from the crowd and repeats the exact words he said to Potter. Then he picks a few of the wrong wands and special effects ensue. Finally, Ollivander picks the perfect wand for you. You can buy that wand for $ 50 in the shop. Which I did, obviously. Holly 13″, nice and flexible, great for protective spells, I’ll have you know.

Had so much fun here! There are people standing on either side of the store to help you choose your wand — or rather help your wand choose you. They explain the different types of «wood» used in the wands(they are not really made of wood of course, that would be too fragile). TAKE A PICTUREOFYOURWOOD’S DESCRIPTION. A description/explanation of the wood qualities is NOT included in your wand box! It was crazy busy in there, but the lady by the wands was very patient and let me take my time choosing. It was a magical experience. The best part? You spend the rest of the time with the map and going to all the«secret» places in both parks casting spells to make things move!

Well friends, the wand chose the wizard and I’m thrilled. Got myself the master wand. That’s right, rocking Dumbledore’s OG wand. This whole friggin park is amazing. It’s just amazing and Olivander’s is no different. Incredibly detailed, like the movie but better. This place is what my mind imagined when I read the book! You have two choices in Olivander’s, the first is a little wand show where an expert wand crafter talks about how the wand chooses the wizard AND a pretty awesome demonstration. The second option is to just walk in to the main part of the store and look around for the right wand. Very crowded and tight aisles so patience is a much. Really enjoyable diversion.

This place is beautiful. It was crazy crowded and I(thankfully was able) to get out of my wheelchair and use a cane for this store. It has the look from the movies with wands stuffed about haphazardly and a organized but not feel. Lovely. You can choose from interactive wands vs non interactive and also characters wands vs non character. I ended up getting the elder wand and the fiancé picked up Sirius Blacks. At first I thought the idea of an extra 20 dollars for interactive was crazy but I really did enjoy doing spells in both parks. Apparently if you have a annual pass you get a 20% discount– which makes the wands still expensive, but better priced! I think wands are the most common item I saw people walking about the parks with. Almost everyone has a Ollivanders bag. Be ready to wait and be patient while browsing.
