I made an apt based on info from ins company website. First avail«new patient» appt was over 3 weeks away, so ok that’s long but fine. 5days before I still haven’t received patient packet in mail as told on the phone. I called and reminded them. I also told the employee to include a form to authorize my former dr in another city to send my charts and lab history over. The employee said«don’t worry you can fill that out when you’re here.» I said that the reason I’m coming is to discuss my blood pressure rx and that this visit would be a waste if I just had to come back in a week once the dr reviewed past treatment. She said to come in and fill out the release form which I did. I got to my appt 10 mins early and was escorted to an exam room 15 mins later. That’s fine. Then 20 mins later a phys asst comes in, takes my blood pressure and begins to ask my medical history. 5 mins into the questions I told her I filled out all that info on the new hire packet. She turned a page in her file and there it was. She left. Finally, 55 mins after my scheduled appt I left bc I could not miss any more work hours(only appt was at 10am). I told an employee that I had to leave and get back to work. She asked if I wanted to reschedule and I declined. I was not contacted by any member of mgmt for an explanation, apology, or any indication that they want me as a patient. I will find a practice that is happy to have me, and whose staff, from admins to Drs follow better business strategies. I do not recommend this practice(metro health) or this Dr(Lisa Pattanayak).
