The food was over done and not worth the money. Dry, Overdone, not worth the price. Also this place so bad I much rather eat McDonald’s at least they have food that does not taste like a fried cockroach

This is a restaurant I wish I could go to in Michigan. The food is made to order and truly homemade. The flavored are excellent. My mom and I went 3 times suing the week we were in Florida.

Having had more than our fair share of amusement park food & prices for the past few days, the husby & I had to make a double take at our bill after ordering – a whole chicken with 4 rolls, 2 large rice & a large beans – $ 21.00! WHAT? I had to stop the husband from doing a cartwheel right there on the restaurant floor. :-D I’ve heard other posts compare this restaurant to El Pollo Loco. As a Californian, I have to say it falls just a bit shy of that comparison. The chicken itself is not as flavorful and our order was a bit overcooked. The chicken pieces were a tough bite & there were burnt edges. And the Husband & kids missed the tortillas although my oldest son ate up the rolls(I gave him mine as well). What I do really love are the sauces. My favorite is the Garlic Cilantro and the Pineapple Rum. I’m going to miss those flavors when we return home. If you’re looking for affordability and decent food, definitely give this place a try. :-)

Two weeks into a low-carb diet with my significant other, and in Orlando briefly for business, my dinner options were somewhat limited. Not wanting to do yet another basic salad from a franchise sandwich shop, and too hungry(and grossed out) to simply get a bunless, fatty, burger from your typical fast food place, some research of the restaurants in the area led me to Pollo Tropical. Their website is very informative regarding what is on their menu, and I was able to find nutrition information for their entire menu so I could make a selection without inadvertently ordering something that would break my diet. The build-your-own TropiChop is a godsend. I opted for the Regular size Chicken Breast, on a bed of romaine, with kernel corn, peppers, and onions. I watched them grill the(REAL) chicken right in front of me, and even at 8pm, the lettuce they used in my meal appeared to be fresh. They had a good selection of sauces, and I decided to use both the Garlic Cilantro and the Spicy Poyo Poyo. For those of you that cannot stomach spicier foods, the Spicy Poyo Poyo sauce had a sign that said HOT with three peppers next to it. Both sauces, and the food that I put them on, had great flavors. The chicken was cooked perfectly, the lettuce was crisp, and all of the flavors and textures worked well together. The staff were all very friendly and had smiles on their faces, even when they weren’t face-to-face with a customer. They greeted me the moment I got to the counter, and gave me an accurate estimate of the time it would take to prepare my order(six minutes, since they had to grill more chicken breast), and even though they did not go over that time, they still offered me a beverage as compensation for my wait. A softball team was in there and had made a bit of a mess of the sauce bar area, but an employee was quick to clean up the dirty napkins and spilled sauces before they inconvenienced any customers. The parking lot is easy to navigate, the spaces are plenty and are somewhat spacious, and they even have a drive-through and carry-out options. The building is well-maintained and well-lit both inside and out, with indoor and outdoor seating available. Short story: Pollo Tropical is the healthiest and most pleasant fast food option I know of in the area. I will most definitely return in the future

I had heard of this place, but they don’t have them up north, so I went to this one while vacationing in Orlando. I was surprised to see all the meat cooking fresh on their char grills. The food was decent, pretty good for a fast food place, and they have a really large variety, and give you huge portions for the money. I’ll definitely go back the next time I’m in Florida.

Pollo Tropical; chicken on the grill!(You have to sing it to a certain tune.) In 3 words, it’s caribbean fast food. In 67 words, it’s chickeny comfort food with some great sides. I liked the soft white rice and fried yuca. The yuca came with garlic sauce, and there were about 8 other sauces to choose from by the condiment bar, including curry mustard, guava bbq, and mayo ketchup. My ¼ chicken and sides of yuca and sweet plantains totaled less than $ 5! Also, expect sticky tables and floors(and bathroom).

I like me some Pollo Tropical! The food is made fresh– you can see it cooking on their open grill. I’m a big fan of the plantains– they are just sweet enough and not too greasy. I mainly stay with their chicken or shrimp dishes and am rarely disappointed. If dining in they have a nice selection of condiments and sauces. I do wish they offered something other than Pepsi… maybe Dr. P would be a good option if you’re not going to serve Coke. Oh, and make sure to double check your order– the drive thru worker had a thick accent and mistook my order of shrimp for chicken.

I was looking for some grilled chicken after our trip to Universal, and this popped on the radar. I’m a fan of El Pollo Loco in Los Angeles, but this is better. We ordered the family meal for less than $ 20, and we had substantial leftovers — this meal feeds more like a family of two adults and 2 – 4 children. The chicken was tender, moist, not greasy, and just the right amount of flavor. The salsa’s were good for a chain. The caesar had just the right amount of «fishiness.» The red beens and rice were great for a chain. I’ll be stopping by this place next time I’m in Florida.

This is like a kfc with a carribean taste. The chicken is good. I really like the mac n cheese there. The place needs some music or something. Its like a sit down fast food place. The price is good and super cheap. The customer service is blehh I waited for my mac n cheese and they try to get me to order something else but I LIKEMYMAC N CHEESEPLS. I’ll wait 5min which end up being 15min.

i was pretty impressed with the food here. my friends who use to live here insisted that this was a MUST on our first day vacationing here. it’s like a Cuban version of California’s El Pollo Loco. We purchased the family meal which consisted of chicken pieces, shredded pork with sauteed onions, fried plantains, and yellow rice. it also comes with bread rolls. everything was absolutely delicious! the chicken had a different flavor than the El Pollo Loco chicken. They also have this really GOOD mustard-like sauce which i am assuming was for the Cuban sandwich, which we also had. but i ended up eating it with my chicken as well cuz it was soooo good. for the family meal, it was only $ 20 and we still had leftovers. we need one in Cali!
