I’ll avoid this Radio Shack at all costs due to the fact that they blast ‘music’ from a crappy PA speaker at an obnoxious volume. It can be ‘clearly’ heard anywhere in the plaza. Update: I wish I could say that I’m disappointed that this location is now closed, but I’d be lying.

Oh RadioShack what happened? It use to be such a cool place for wires, gadgets, fun science fair supplies. Now it’s nothing but cell phones, cameras iPads etc. there is still a small section of wires and some science fair kits. Not like back in the day though. The staff here is friendly, I’ll give them that. That’s all I have to say.

Simply put, I hate this place. The other day I needed an audio adapter. I reluctantly went to this awful place because I didn’t think other electronic stores would carry it. Let’s be honest, Radio Shack store brand merchandise is subpar, their prices are high and their selection is garbage. Strike 1. Yet I was willing to give them a try on a simple $ 3 part. The overly eager-to-please girl at the counter seemed confident in knowing what I wanted, so I let her do her thing. Guess what. She picked out the wrong item for me. She was so fixated on giving me phony customer service that she failed to get me the part I really needed. When I realized this after getting home, I was T.O.‘d. Strike 2. The purchase of the wrong item required a return visit today to return the part. I told the fellow behind the counter that I wanted my money back. He starts asking for private contact information. Radio Shack loves to get your name, number, address, email, etc even though it’s completely unnecessary. I paid for this $ 3 part with cash, yet the fellow would not refund my money without taking ALL of my information down. I was polite in saying I don’t give that info out, and he got firm with me about it. Strike 3. This is not customer service; it’s an exercise in enforcing a horrendous return policy in the customer’s face. I won’t stand for it anymore. I detest this store and all of it’s other stores for that matter. Luckily I found what I needed at Best Buy after all. Avoid this chain. I don’t want to see more people lose jobs, but I cannot wait for this chain to fail. The employees would be better off somewhere else anyway.
