Safelite AutoGlass

After center sliding rear window replacement, lights were left on leaving battery dead upon pickup. I jumped it with my wife’s car. Rear seat was re-​installed improperly which could be concluded by anyone looking at it. Service manager, however, did fantastic job of troubleshooting and fixing the latter problem. He was the best customer service moment.

My wife’s Subaru had quite a few chips in the windshield from years of being pelted with stones. One of the worst eventually developed a crack and «spiderwebbed» overnight. My insurance company (Liberty Mutual) had an automated system that referred me directly to Safelite. I booked on-​site service online, using their web-​based system. It was fairly easy to use, even when I needed to reschedule. The technician showed up right at the beginning of the window and got to work immediately. He was courteous and friendly. The work went well enough, though I noticed a little extra adhesive on the inside of the windshield (nothing worth complaining about) and a piece of rubber trim at the hood hinge was not correctly seated (2 minutes with a screw driver and it was righted). I also had to realign the passenger’s wiper, which was not quite right. That said, I am probably more detail oriented than most and have always been somewhat of a «car guy».
Really the only complaint I had is that they used some cheap Chinese knock-​off glass («Fuyao»). The quality seems ok, but I was expecting PPG or maybe even OEM (admittedly, I haven’t had a windshield replaced in many years, so the market may have changed). We’ll see how it holds up… Safelite’s materials say that they stand behind their products, so we’ll see if that’s true.
My only tip would be to make sure you check the technician’s work before he leaves (or before you leave the shop). Check all the moldings on the outside and check for extra adhesive on the inside. They will be able to correct it a LOT easier before it fully cures.

My experience was actually good. Although they cancelled our first appointment they gave 2 alternatives, take the car in or have the tech come to me. They said it would be between 12 – 5. The day of they appointment I received a text stating Kevin would be there between 1 & 2, he was there at 1:20. My car is a 2002, we walked around he told me what he had to remove, advised me that these may be brittle due to age and heat. It took about 2 hours, no broken trim pieces! Good job, Kevin! He actually had to wait for me for about 10 minutes, I work I. A Dr’s office and was with a patient, he was very kind! My windshield looks great!

Unfortunately my passenger window was smashed during a break in of my car. Fortunately Safelite replaced it at half the cost the dealership would have been. Dealership would have taken 3 days — Safelite had it fixed within hours of my contacting them.

I’m not sure what all the complaints are about. My boyfriend had a crack in his windshield, Progressive set us up with an appointment at this location at 11:30am on a Saturday, and we were in and out in an hour. Tiny complaint that were told it would be 30 minutes, but I knew that was an ambitious time frame. The windshield was repaired with no issues. The staff was to the point, but not rude. They even have a Keurig with several coffee selections, which I took advantage of when I started getting a little sleepy in the waiting room.
Hopefully I never need them again, but I wouldn’t hesitate to go to Safelite for another windshield repair.

Super fast and professional. Had a rock crack my window from driving on i4 and they called me, sent me an email with all the information I need to get prepared for them to fix my window. It was fixed within 2 days and I couldn’t be happier. Jose did a great job and was super nice too!

Horrible customer service! As a dealer of wheelchair accessible vehicles and I work with folks with disabilities. I called safe lite to replace or repair a windshield for a client. After being assured it could be repaired my company paid for the repair only to find out it became worse after the attempted repair. I could have dealt with that, but I was never contacted that the windshield was not fixed from safelite. It wasn’t until my client called days later to ask what is going on with the windshield. To my surprise I had no idea it had not been taken care of. After many hours on the phone no resolution was made. I was offered a refund for the initial 90.41 if I purchase a new windshield from them only. Why would I use them?

If I could rate it Zero, I would. Bought a new car 3 weeks ago. Noticed the cracked windshield 10 days ago. Has taken that long (and is still not done) to get my car taken car of. First, the wrong windshield was ordered. Secondly, the tech didn’t realize that it could not be done in the field. Third, when the new windshield came in, they did not pick it up for 2 days resulting in cancelled appointment. Realized there were other items needed, ordered, took 3 days to get in. I myself called them and told them it was in, and despite this, they apparently didn’t get the message, despite me writing down the name and number of the person I spoke with. So now, being Thursday, they cannot get to it until next Monday. Christ, had I wanted to buy a car and then not be able to drive it, I would have given the car to My Ex wife.

It is the worst place to have a service done. If wasn’t for Tina who i just spoke and did whatever she could to help me out i was going to have to wait i don’t know how much longer.
I had a minor windshield problem a few weeks ago and my insurance sent me to Satellite, when they were trying to «fix it» the glass broke a little more and so they «TECHNICIAN» said that i was fine and nothing was to happen, but if something comes up i was to go there and they would take care for me… LIARS
A week later my windshield was totally shattered on a saturday afternoon, so i called them to report that and get my windshield fixed, if wasn’t for me to call over and over and over again i probably would be still waiting on them to do their job.
So, on ⁴⁄₁₃ i called in the morning and my windshield was still MIA, i called again in the afternoon and they informed me (because i called) that they could schedule me for today, 4/​15, so schedule done i made arrangements for my car to be at home waiting on their professional to show up… GUESS WHAT, their professional had a family emergency and nobody called, text, emailed, smoke signal NOTHING… so after waiting the whole afternoon, a little before 4 pm i called to make sure they would still come and what was my surprise when they said to me what was going on and lied stating that they did call… But neither me or my husband had a missed call or voice message about it… Left my husband’s phone number because i used his car to go to work and so my husband could open the gate, and they just changed the phone number on the system and could not find why…
I was nasty, no patience and yelling on the phone, the first person who answer the phone said she would put me on hold and hung up on me, so i called again and spoke with Tina, of course i did apologize to her me being so nervous but i made sure to say all i have to say and poor Tina listened to all and tried to make it better for me. Their schedule was for friday afternoon but Tina made it happen for friday morning on my schedule and my conditions. Now i have to wait and see if it will happen or not!
Horrible customer service (besides Tina) horrible ways of keeping customers informed of what is happening… HORRIBLE ALL THAT INCLUDES CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!

I realize that companies have to follow policy and procedure to protect themselves, but this company and many of its peers needs to start thinking outside their 4 wall offices. I happen to have a special circumstance where the back glass of my Volvo C70 could only be ordered from the manufacturer in Sweden which happen to be having issues with their plant with no ETA for manufacturing the glass. This company would not get me an after market glass in Detroit (which I found online) the reason I was given is because they don’t have an account with them. This is after 4 weeks of waiting and having to extend my lease on the car. So I worked with my insurance and told them that I will purchase the glass myself and contacted an installer recommended by a body shop. I would still be waiting if I didn’t take this action. We need companies that will go out of their way to help and resolve customer’s issues, think outside the box and be an innovator.

While it was unfortunate that I needed the windshield replaced, the experience with my insurance and Safelight was phenomenal! One call to my insurance, transferred to Safelight, and had an appointment scheduled for an hour later. They couldn’t come to my home until the next day, so I went to the Shader Rd. location. Not only was the service completed in less than 2 hours, the receptionist was so kind to accommodate my cord in her work place so I could work on my laptop (it doesn’t hold a charge :/​). I hope I never have another cracked windshield, but if I do I will certainly go to Safelight! Open a Seminole County office! :)

I had posted a few days ago about Safelite bringing the wrong glass for my car, I called and rescheduled, sat home again from 12 – 5 and they never showed. I had to call them and find out why, apparently around 3, they broke my glass and never called to tell me they weren’t coming. So I rescheduled for the 3^rd time! You’ll never guess, 3^rd time, they brought the wrong glass again and 2 hrs late. This time they had another tech who brought out the right glass come and get it done. In the process he managed to break the visor clips in my car and safelite has since ordered the new part… In the wrong color. Seriously, I can’t even make up how bad their service is. Oh and they have to come out again tomorrow to fix my rain sensor because they didn’t attach it right the first time. Terrific!

I wish I could write a review on the service, but I was unable to get any because not only did my assigned technician not come within my appointment time I was not even contacted once by anyone with the store. I tried calling back the next day and after 5 minutes on hold I decided that if they didn’t want my money I wasn’t going to give it to them. Stay away.

Stay Away! Excess glue all oer the inside seam. Took 4 days for someone to come out to fix. Instead of replacing the glass again he srcapes the glue with a razor and chiped my paint! The next day my rear view mirror fell off. They have one last chance to make this right today after that it time to get a lawyer involved. My insurance recomened them but it has been a nightmare on my new jeep. Stay away!

The staff was not very accommodating. Due to their mistake my appointment had to be rescheduled because they didn’t order the right part. They did not try to fit me in but said I had to either wait til the following Tuesday or bring my car all the way across town the following day. Safelite was not very apologetic for their mix up.

I will never do business with this company again. I never even got to confirm that I wanted their service, and the woman on the line assumed that I needed them now, and asked for my address. I stated that I was just calling for a quote. She gave me the price, without tax, without a «disposal fee» (which I didn’t understand, since I had nothing to dispose of). I explained to her that I was just shopping around for prices and that my car had tints on it. She then said, «well your car doesn’t come with tints, that’s just something the dealer must have done.» WHAT!!! My Kia came with tints already put on. And every single kia car on the lot all had factory tints already installed. And this woman knows this? She knows everything about cars? She then assumed that I put them on and didn’t know what I was talking about. What BS! This company is unbelievable. Maybe not the actual installers, but this woman is the voice of the company. And her voice, and words, will make me never do business with them. I will pass this information around, and hopefully put this place out of business, or at least, get this woman fired.

Had an appointment, when arrives they said it would be a 2 – 3 extra wait. Asked for a time to come back so I don’t have to wait in their stuffy waiting room. They said if I leave that can’t service me. What’s the point of an appointment if they can’t /​don’t keep it? Stay Away! Called around and found a place close by and cheaper. I took my business to Low Price Auto Glass on Colonial.

After 2.5 years of rocks being hurled at my windshield, the poor thing finally succumbed. What was a small chip, grew overnight into over a foot long crack. A quick call to my insurance company and Safelite AutoGlass was recommended as a service provider. The insurance company transferred me over to a Safelite agent and an appointment was made for a technician to replace the windshield at my place of work. I had an email confirmation within seconds of getting off of the phone!
On the day of my appointment, the technician called early on in the day to let me know the approximate time of his arrival. He then called me as he drove into the parking lot. Noël was great, and replaced the windshield quickly and answered all my questions easily! He even tried to save my e-​pass sticker and took off my sun visor brackets for me!
I like that AAA recommended them and that they have a guarantee on their product that is in place for as long as you own the vehicle

Safelight Repair, Safelight Replace!
Jingles get stuck in my head, which is the whole point of a jingle I suppose. Anyway, I had some chips in my windshield that were threatening to expand so I called Safelight Auto Glass.
Partly because of their snappy jingle, but mostly because a friend had a good experience with them.
I had an appointment for sometime between 12 – 4. At 3:30 the technician came to my house ready to repair my windshield. He did offer to replace it, but because I had specified Repair on the phone, he didn’t have a replacement ready. (Either one would have been covered 100% by insurance). I was ok with the repair, and away he went. He was very friendly and explained the whole process as it went along. One thing I really liked was that they handled the all of the communication with my insurance company. I just made one call, and was done.
My only complaint: When I called to make the appointment, they asked if I needed new windshield wipers. I did, we arranged to have them replaced as well. Unfortunately that detail didn’t get passed along to the technician or was forgotten. No biggie, I can do it myself (for cheaper).
