This is my local hangout and I love the tacos! There’s always a great beer selection, which is great for me. I’m not a light beer /domestic beer drinker. Lots of flavor and variety is what I look for. Great specials on liquor too!

I was impressed by STP. Great prices and great flavors. We ordered sloppy tacos, beans and rice(surprisingly good), and sliders. One caveat if you order the sliders: they don’t have mayonnaise here. That was fine for me, because I was dipping mine in the awesome cheese sauce. But my wife doesn’t eat cheese, so she had to settle for ketchup. The sloppy taco shell isn’t as crisp and flaky as the menu would lead you to believe, but the ground beef they use is really tasty. We’ll definitely eat here again! ***NOTE*** If you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, you will smell it any time someone opens the patio door.

Food tales too too long For a small order or wings salsa and chips 3 beer and mac and cheese balls. 25 min wait for so little and the place is empty. The servers have time to take shots but not the customers

I can’t believe this place has 4 stars. I went here for the first time about 5 years ago and had 2 tacos… don’t ask me what kind because I’ve tried to erase that night from my memory. The food seemed okay at the time, but about 3 hours later, I experience THEWORSTFOODPOISONINGEVER!!! I can’t even describe to you how sick I was. But let’s just say, as soon as I got home, I spent the rest of the night sitting on the toilet with a trash can on my lap…

The staff is awesome and the drinks are strong. The food might literally bite you in the ass but is good for a hangover cure. The main reason it’s not 5 stars is they need to make the additional space where the band plays a bit darker. Bottom line, it’s a great place to go and have a few with some friends. Say«Hey» to Mikey.

When my friend Tonya says«you’ve got to go there», I take it seriously, especially if it’s Mexican. She’s got great taste and would curl her nose and say«oh no, you don’t want to go there» — if it sucked. So I found myself at the Sloppy Taco Palace, Friday night, 9PM. And although I’m from a generation who when they see STP, thinks about the Stone Temple Pilots, the name is plain bad ass. The sloppy taco has a fried flour shell, the meat of your choice and sloppy toppings galore. MMM damn girl, you so tasty! Even better than the tacos… the side of black beans and rice! Holy freakin’ what what! Delicious and just a bite of heat! Next up to mention — frito pie says«get in my belly» — old school style with the Frito bag ripped open and loaded with chili and cheese . Not used to seeing a regional tap/draught menu — I’m so spoiled with such great local beers in Charlotte. Almost no IPAs on the menu(because we all know Goose Island IPA is Budweiser — hehe). Settled on a Uinta Pale Ale which was actually pretty damn good! The place was hopping but no one was rowdy. Ooh and the music — great playlist guys! I hear they have live bands and all sorts of food and drink specials through the week too! I’ve been inspired to open my own restaurant called the Messy Burrito Emporium…

This place is a local gem! It’s tough to find good local«dive» spots in this touristy area, but STP is just that. Great beer selection, awesome bartenders, and of course — the sloppy tacos! They expanded the place a few years ago and really opened it up inside. There are now 2 bar areas, and an expanded seating area. You can generally find great local live music on the stage from Thursday — Saturday nights, and they have a nice patio outside with TV’s and music as well. I’m a big fan of this place, and an even bigger fan of the staff. I highly recommend you give STP a shot!

The Sloppy Taco Basket and Sloppy Tots were pretty good, our second waitress was very nice… the Mrs’s drinks were just not right. The«Sex on the Beach» drink was terrible, which the second gal took care of for us as the first gal never came back to our table or even acknowledged we were there when she passed any where near us. The second drink wasn’t a whole lot better… a Margarita… one would think that a place that looks to be renowned for its bar wouldn’t have had so much trouble with drinks. Dinged for the attitude of the first waitress and missing the mark on the drinks… added a star for the second gal that seemed to care.

Based on the Unilocal reviews I had to stop by. It was less then a block from my hotel so I had to go. I went around 12:30 so there was no crowd but a few regular showed up so it made for a great time with a lot of suggestions on what to try. I clearly wanted to try everything after some of the pictures I had seen on Unilocal.I started with the sloppy dog which honestly filled me up. It was a Large Wiener in a tortilla covered in awesome sauce!!! Next up were the sloppy sliders and fried mac n cheese. The gooey was so good and the flavors just danced all over the place. I love messy food when it’s suppose to be. I’m a new fan of this spot and I can find myself here for my 5 day stay. Shots out to Felicia… great bartender, super nice and she has tried everything on the menu, so ask her anything

I’ve been here twice so far; once on Taco Tuesday, and again on a Thursday. After my experience I think I am only likely to return if I am REALLY craving tacos, which is rare as it is. Their steak sloppy tacos are quite tasty; I’ve tried the chicken, ground beef, and steak — in my opinion, the steak is far superior… could’ve done without the others. The mixed drinks are sub-par and lack finesse. I ordered a Sangria which tasted more like water, lime, and vodka than an actual Sangria made with red wine. I’d pass on their mixed drinks, but you can’t go wrong with a bottled beer, right? The wait time is rather long. I got there maybe 10 minutes to 12 and didn’t get my food until 12:30 or so. Who knew it took so long to chef three tacos and rice and beans?! L-O-L.

So much yes!!! My friend and I picked this place purely because of the name. Any place named Sloppy Taco Palace has gotta be good, right?! We were not disappointed. I was a little worried when our Über pulled up to a strip mall, but don’t fear. It a dive bar in the best kind of way. We went on a Saturday night, got there around 11. It was a full house and an AC/DC cover and was in full swing. We lucked out and grabbed a booth as people were leaving. I cannot remember our waitresses name, but she was sweet as pie(dark hair, glasses with tattoos). I had a vodka soda and my friend a whiskey and diet as well as a few shots. The killer part? The food. So un heathy, but so delicious. We had the mini chicken funditos to start, spiced chicken and cream cheese fried nuggets of tastiness with queso to dip them in. Then we split a sloppy taco basket. The sloppy steak taco was delicious and sopped up the massive quantities of sweet liquor drinks I had consumed earlier in the night at the Universal Boardwalk. If I lived in around here, Sloppy Taco Palace would be a go to.

Stop in here from time to time to enjoy some suds and tacos. The staff is friendly and always ready to fill your glass. The food is very tasty and I love their tots with chili and cheese. A great place to unwind and enjoy a drink with friends

With all good comes not so good. I really enjoy giving great reviews and highlighting sweet spots in Orlando. Unfortunately, I can’t do that for STP. Strangely enough, several people have recommended STP to me in the past. I’m not sure where the disconnect is. The restaurant itself is kind of dive-y and very cold temperature wise from my experience. Being that I was unfamiliar with the term«sloppy taco» and what exactly it entailed, as a lot of restaurants fail to provide complete descriptions on their menus, I asked my waiter just incase so I could determine if it was something I could have. He seemed less than interested to explain to me and a bit annoyed that he even had to wait another table. It was almost as if I should already know, and if I don’t I’ll figure it out. Due to his lack of desire to give me a full description I simply ordered tacos. Compared to a lot of other restaurants in the area I don’t feel they had great drink specials. They were a little on the high end considering the menu available. Before I received my food I asked my waiter to add on a side of sour cream. When I received my dish, I had maybe a tablespoon of sour cream for my two tacos, and I was charged $ 0.95 for it. I can buy a whole container of sour cream for $ 1.09 at the grocery store. If you’re going to charge me that much, the least you can do is give me more than a tablespoon… for two tacos. Just saying. When I received my food the meat in my tacos was room-temp /borderline cold. Who eats tacos with cold meat? I was totally confused but it was late, I had a long day and didn’t care anymore. I don’t plan to return to STP and I don’t plan to recommend it either. This was my experience and my opinion. A lot of people love this place and probably swear by it. If you like it great, if you don’t I understand.

What a cool little funky local dive bar! Came here last weekend to see the band«Moon Men from Mars» and that was a hoot. These guys did their whole set in morph suits. WOW… it was pretty wild stuff but everyone enjoyed. That’s what you can expect at STP aka Sloppy Taco Palace. The place is kinda divey by design, but it’s actually pretty cool. There is a good amount of space considering it’s in a strip mall and it just doesn’t look as big as it is from outside. The bar staff was SUPER cool and very attentive. Drinks were good. Beer was cold and cheap($ 8 pitchers) and I believe happy hour is after midnight too. They have some neat stuff going on here every week. Very diverse crowd and friendly atmosphere. I’ll def go back with my friends from that side of town!

This is one of the hidden gems of Orlando, near the Universal City Walk area. It’s a funky little strip mall place that surprises you once you’re inside because then it turns into a hippy joint, with live music on Thursday and Saturday. Our tacos were the night’s special, and they were pretty good at $ 2.50 each. The catch is they come with a decent amount of warm queso. We also had the hot dogs and tater tots, which were filling and good quality. They have a lot of craft beers and a colorful clientele. If you’re visiting Universal, look up this neighborhood place for cheap Mex grub.

This place was always hit or miss for me. Sometimes great food and great service, other times questionable food and poor service. Or some combination of both. If you catch them on a good day though, you’ll be rewarded with a delicious, sloppy taco.

I have so many thoughts about this place. First thought is… it is reasonably priced. So if you are looking to stay within budget and want sloppy greasy food… this is the place for you. Ambience: If you look like you dont belong at this neighborhood dive bar you will definently stick out! However, I believe that the staff will make sure you feel as comfortable as they possibly can but it may not be enough… the décor is pretty cool. I felt like they found something they likes and were like«hey lets put this on the wall» …but in a stranged way it works. Bathroom: Older restaurant but they really tried to make it so it was upgraded but it was a fail. close quarters. I would give 2.5 for cleanliness. Food: due to the fact that I have heard so much about this place I had to try a couple of different things. for appetizers we had the fundido with cheese sauce and the fried mac and cheese… The mac and cheese was really good. Better than I have had in the past. The cheese ball had a little kick(i like spicy) and the somewhat of a ranch sauce went well. So I am YAY for the fried mac and chese. The fundidos(chicken) which had chicken in them but nothing different from any other restaurant. They came with a cheese sauce; to me that was too much cheese… cheese cheese cheese everywhere… as I was reading other reviews and they mentioned their queso… I agree it is melted velvetta or something like that… not much flavor other than what I have made at home. Sloppy tacos… that what this place is known for and I can say they were good. I tried the pulled pork and the chicken. The chicken taco was the success for me. First, I liked the lightly fried taco shell(my mom used to do this for me as a child so i may be biased) the chicken seemed like real chicken that they cooked as opposed to processed meats… but I could have been fooled. overall it was great. The meal comes with black beans and rice but you have the option of getting any of the sides. I decided to go with the chili cheese tots and OMG… OMG…yummy…not like they were something spectacular and I could easily make this at home but it was good here too… Pricing…They have great drink specials… oh and they have a salsa of the day which i thought was good(had to slide that in there). Appetizers range from $ 5-$ 10 all on the .95 end… such as 5.95 and such. The two sloppy tacos were $ 7.95; which I didnt think was a bad price. If you want fattening, artery clogging food that makes your emotions tingle with joy… this is the place!!!

I went here on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00pm so I’m just reviewing the restaurant not the bar. Décor: When you walk in it has a very dark. I can imagine at night it’s an awesome atmosphere for a bar. Because I was there during the day it was a little difficult to see the menu. It definitely has a «dive bar» kind of vibe. Very grunge, 80’s rocker-ish. I am indifferent to the décor but I imagine that other people who are into bikes, old school rock, and tattoos love this type of place. There are beer and event posters that make you have an intimate feel that you usually get from a good bar. The food: My burrito was amazing! I got the blackened chicken wrap/burrito was so moist and flavorful. I was shocked that such good food came from a bar. I say this people with the lack of sit down tables it is clear to me that the bar is the main focus and not the food. So nice to see that the food is not compromised and that you can still get quality food at a really good bar. The tater tots are to die for! Light and perfectly crispy… just thinking about them makes me want some tots. Overall I really liked the vibe and would gladly recommend this place to anyone. It’s the type of place that you have to put on the bucket list. You have to at least go through the door and give it a shot.
