This was actually my second visit, with the first one being about 4 years ago. Back then the place was smaller and less refined and didn’t leave much of an impression on us. But, places change, and I had been hearing good things lately, so we decided to shake up our usual sushi spot list and give Lola’s another go. The décor has improved greatly and it seems bigger than I remembered it? It’s nice and clean, not too overcrowded. The tables are a bit close together but not horribly so. My friend and I were there on a Thursday night and the place was packed, even though it was after happy hour. We waited a while to be seated, during which a 4-top was cleaned and left empty until a 2-top became available. There were no other people waiting, and there was a party of 2 seated at a 6-top, so why they couldn’t seat us at a 4-top was beyond me, but whatever. Our waiter was very nice and brought water right away before taking our order. I got a bento box while my friend got an appetizer and a roll. The appetizer was sort of a krab stuffed jalapeño popper tempura fried, very good. The bento box was large and worth the price, although you are given a choice between rice and two sushi options and I was never asked until it was delivered. He took the rice back and brought me sashimi which was worth the upgrade as the slices were HUGE. The roll was very well done, held together nicely and very fresh. Overall, a great selection, fresh and tasty food, and good prices. While it won’t be a regular on our list, it will certainly be there for when we want a change from the usual. Final note — this is the only sushi place I’ve ever been to where they give you a wrapped chocolate chip cookie with your bill. It was moist even the next day. Fun touch!

Quirky place, quirky staff and great food! I like a place with personality and this place has it. The owner loves to come and visit customers at their tables and chat with them for a bit. She is the sweetest lady! It’s a bit smaller of a location with limited seating on site, but it’s a great atmosphere if you can get a seat. They have a sushi bar you can sit at if you like to watch the rolls be made. You can always get to-go if you prefer to take things home! We’ve done this on a couple of occasions and it has been good, but we live really close, so keep that in mind! They do offer a happy hour — so be sure to check that out if you are interested in ordering multiple rolls, or sharing rolls amongst a table of people. Overall: A Great place with lots of personality.

I remember coming here when they just opened. It was a nice unknown restaurant where you could enjoy nice rolls. Now it is overcrowded. We waited 40 minutes for our small plain order. Fish is fresh, so rolls will taste good. There is something I do not want to disclose here that my husband saw while we were at the bar area that will cause us to NEVER come back again. If you are the owner and reading this, you probably know what I am talking about. Please fix it.

My brother and I went to Sushi Lola’s for lunch and it was nothing short of outstanding! We ordered the Jalapeño Bomber for an app and it was delicious. Our server was extremely polite and attentive. She provided top notch service and was there for every need we had. For our entrees we ordered the Crunchy shrimp, Mexican, and Volcano rolls which came beautifully presented in a sushi boat. We also order the Steak fried rice. You can tell that is place uses premium ingredients in their cooking and it shows. The sushi is very reasonably priced for the quality of food you are getting. We definitely will be returning to Sushi Lola’s and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes sushi.

As I arrived I was promptly seated. My server Yong was very nice. I ordered the chicken gyoza dumplings they were very good with a good flavored dipping sauce. I had the California roll sushi, very fresh as this is my favorite sushi roll. For entrée I had the Unaju sushi, broiled sliced eel brushed with a soy based glaze layered on top of a bowl of sushi rice, with assorted pickled vegetables and pickled ginger. Everything about the entrée had an excellent balance of flavors. Afterward, I had the Maguro(red) Tuna Nigiri sushi. Also, fresh with good flavor. The meal closed with the arrival of a house baked chocolate chip cookie. This is my second time to dine here and it was just as good as the first.

I will say this and I’m very pleased to say that my birthday dinner or lunch or whatever you want to call it was amazing for filling all my needs the owner wants the ultimate sent to actually give me something for my birthday and he was a very accommodating person along the lines he went above and beyond the call of duty and he was very accommodating to me and my dad’s needs and he always made sure we were covered so I will say thank you to him and this review is a great overall experience so I will be back here maybe with my dad in the near distant future

Cute little restaurant but the service is SOSLOW. We went on 5.7 and the server walked around cleaning 2 tables, taking his time with only 2 other tables in the restaurant(us and the table next to us). Took forever to get greeted and then to get drinks. Would rather try other places than come back here

I came here at around 6pm on a Friday and the place was packed full. However they have more than ample staff running around in circles doing nothing to handle the crowd, just they will run around in circles A LOT. I was there for about 5 – 10 minutes before my server even noticed me and that was only after the owner who wanders around the place like royalty noticed me and directed the server to me. I like that the owner is out introducing herself and touching tables but she seems to not be supervising and not care how SLOW the service is and how unhappy guests are getting. I ordered my food. Dumpling appetizer and the Korean rib entrée. I then waited, and waited, and waited… Couple sitting next to me who arrived long after me served… 15 minutes, waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting… Large table who order 15 minutes after me served… Waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting… Giant platters full of sushi being served to tables around me. Owner bringing out special dishes to tables that got here 20 minutes after I place my order. All you have to do is acknowledge my presence. I look at my watch and give them 5 minutes before I walk out. Around the 30 minute mark I am finally acknowledged and told they are sorry for the wait and my food will be out shortly… Around 35 minutes a plate of the smallest most over priced dumplings I have ever seen is dropped on my table. They taste okay, nothing spectacular. DONOT order the dumplings there are insanely expensive for what you get. Very soon after that the ribs arrive. I can tell you the only reason this place is getting 3 stars is because of this plate of ribs. A huge portion. Delicious. Served steaming on hot sizzle plate. One of the best dishes I have ever had in a restaurant in my entire life. So beyond 5 star food, but sub one star service and pricing. My advice avoid this place when busy and learn what items to avoid on the menu due to insane pricing.

Wow, what a good place to eat sushi. Was very fresh and the service was so personable. When I came here I wasn’t expecting much since I was the only one, no other customers! But I was told it’s not busy the time I came.(At 3) my servers name was Aaron and he is really nice. Look at the pictures and you can see the menu… Very very good.

Excellent really. Very attentive. Clean fresh space. The shrimp bento box made for a nice lunch and the veggie fried rice was was nice as well. Lots of food. It’s everything you’d come to expect from a sushi place, I think. Happy hour looks good too; two for one drinks, $ 20 for two deluxe rolls, and $ 10 for 2 regular rolls! Oh, and they have a Korean menu too. Very interesting. Our regular spots been letting us down, so this was a nice break away for us. We actually meant to hit up another local place but after Unilocaling in the car we ended up here and we’re so glad we did. And that cookie with the check, nice touch! 4.5 for me.

5 stars because they give out cookies… not fortune cookies… real chocolate chip cookies. This place is fantastic. The service is cordial and prompt. I am not a fan of sushi so I order other items from the menu. I had the bento box. It’s probably the best value. You get rice, salad or miso soup, springs rolls, dim sums and whatever protein you want. I selected shrimps; I even ate the tail. It came with sauteed veggies and a beautiful sauce. Come and enjoy the flavors!

I recently visited Sushi Lola’s after not having done so in many years. Although I wasn’t necessarily WOWED during my first visit, this recent experience was top notch. *Note: during my first experience I just wasn’t a fan of the rolls I ordered This time, however, I ordered what seemed the be the best darn rolls on the menu. Our lovely waitress even gave us kudos on the four that we chose and noted the Wednesday Morning roll was one of her favorites. We were starving and it was past lunch but too early for happy hour. So we opted to pick four rolls to share between the two of us. We ordered two regular rolls: shrimp tempura and sweet potato, and two deluxe rolls: the Wednesday Morning roll and the pink lady roll. The shrimp tempura roll and sweet potato were basic rolls but done well. Perfectly fried shrimp and sweet potato. No complaints. The deluxe rolls were favorites though. The Wednesday Morning roll is definitely intense and filling but we were happy with the selection. I missed the note next the roll which told guests it was deep fried but that was ok. It was filled with salmon, cream cheese, avocado, and topped with scallions, masago, and lots of sauce(spicy mayo & eel sauce). The pink lady roll was also delicious! Tuna, cream cheese, avocado, krab salad, and tempura flakes wrapped in beautifully pink soy paper as opposed to the usual nori. The rolls we chose will definitely be categorized at not so traditional sushi fare but we wanted to indulge and give in to some saucy cravings. Lots of sauce on the rolls that came with both spicy mayo and eel sauce, just a heads up. Service was attentive and quick. We were the only ones in the restaurant for about fifteen minutes at the beginning of our experience so I cannot speak on high peak hours of service. We were given two homemade chocolate chip cookies with our check which was a nice lil delicious surprise.

I was disappointed as soon I consumed my first roll of sushi, the overall quality of sushi was not fresh. My bf and I ordered the Ninja roll, Unbelievable, and Chirashi bowl. The fish didn’t really taste fresh whatsoever, I could tell that it has been frozen and defrosted over and over again. The flavor of the fish was very washed away, there was absolutely no flavor to it. It’s possible that they buy cheap quality fish. On top of that the rice was very mushy as if they used left overs from yesterday, almost didn’t taste like normal sushi rolls. The sushi rolls barely remain in one piece as soon as I pick them up. I had high hope for this place but unfortunately it did not meet my expectation. My bf and I spent over $ 50 at this place for a buffet quality sushi. The only good thing was that they did have friendly staffs and also the sushi rolls were cut quite large but I think as a sushi lover I prefer quality over quantity.

I LOVE sushi. Many weeks I get it multiple times, so loving it so much I’ve tried many different places around Orlando searching for some of the best. I can honestly say Sushi Lola’s is one of the best places to get sushi and I end up defaulting to them on a regular basis. Another great plus is all of the cute stores and bars right on the same street and in the area. Cannot recommend enough.

This is about to be a bold statement, but I’m going to stand behind it. Sushi Lola’s definitely has be best sushi in town. No questions asked. The space is definitely small but it helps to foster an intimate and personalized feeling. I always feel known when I walk in there and that is always the best way to keep me coming back. The miso soup is as a starter is excellent and serves as the perfect way to prepare your tummy before diving in. My weapon of choice is the sweet potato roll and the tropical roll with a side of eel sauce.(I will always be a sucker for any roll with cream cheese). They seal the deal at the end of the meal by providing a home baked chocolate chip cookie with your receipt after you pay. I also really love how the owner will personally come around and thank you for being there. I know it’s not something that has to be done, but it’s nice to feel appreciated when dining in there. I can’t talk about this place enough. Everyone needs to go!

I don’t care what anyone says but this is my favorite Asian restaurant hands down! Reason number one, the manager always greets us and remember who we are and what we drink. We have become regulars to him even though we go maybe two or three times a month.(we live far) Reason number two, lava dips. Need I say more? It’s the best thing I’ve ever had that is fried and it’s something we always get when we go. Reason number there, I haven’t tried anything that wasn’t good. I’m the type of person that likes to try something new each time, if it’s sushi or dinning meal and I never get disappointed. It does get crazy busy and hectic when it gets packed but the wait to me is worth every bite. Like I said, everything I’ve tried always had me saying«mmmmmm!!» I would recommended this place to anyone who loves Asian food like I do.

Sushi Lola’s is such a great place to eat after a visit to Leu Gardens. I am not a big sushi/raw person, but there are plenty of tempting cooked options. The staff, and especially Lola are always friendly and helpful. We always love the fried rice and today I tried the Chapchae, and the flavor was great. The portions are large, soU almost always have leftovers.

I met family here for lunch and I loved every minute of it. My step daughter is a regular here so we had her order. Management brought over Lava Dips because she heard us talking about them-these crunchy balls filled with crab are delicious. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. The appetizer calamari was delicious and not smothered in breading. The Playboy roll will be a favorite from now on: so many distinct flavors and a piece of art! We had other rolls that I do not remember the name of but every one was delicious. Next time I am in Orlando, I know I will have to get a Playboy Roll to go if I cannot dine it. Great fresh food beautifully presented.

Spectacular! This was my first time in a few years going to Sushi Lola’s at the new location. I went with a good friend today around 320 ish PM and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Lola herself greeted us and sat us down quickly took our drink orders and handed us menus. She was super friendly and extremely patient with us. Since I last tried Sushi Lola’s, the menu has changed quite a bit. A large majority of it is definitely sushi with a diverse appetizer menu including the typical miso, gyoza choosings but also some fusion items like Kimchi pancakes which I found interesting. I choose the White Russian and the Volcano Roll which were absolutely DELICIOUS! I ate it all and that is rare for me. While waiting for our sushi, Lola came to our table and brought us a delicious appetizer(Lava Dips) that was on the House! I was flabbergasted, I never get that lucky. She told us we looked hungry and offered us the dish. My two rolls and water ran me about 24 bucks which pleasantly surprised me. I will definitely be back to Sushi Lola’s and soon. Great service, fresh sushi, great price point and variety! The funny thing is that we were planning on going to try Kabooki sushi, but changed our plans because they had no reservations at the time we wanted to eat. God had a better plan instead. Can’t wait to go back

Hadn’t been here in awhile, so my husband and I decided to try it again. It was a date night for us before a concert. We didn’t have set dinner plans and he mentioned Sushi Lola and to check if they had a happy hour. I called and the young man that answered said they had it until 6pm Monday through Thursday. We had 20 mins to get there, so I asked do you cut it off before then and he said as long as the order is put in before 6pm. Great, we were really close by! The Happy Hour items we got included 2 deluxe sushi role for $ 20(TNT and White Russian), 2 regular sushi rolls for $ 10(yellow tail and Spicy Shrimp), $ 5 large hot sake, 2 for 1 beer and wine(hubby got Hite). We got out order in before 6pm. Everything we got was so yummy!!! The service was great. We had 2 girls wait our table. Our food came out relatively fast! Way to redeem themselves from the last time we had visited, at their first location. The only down side to the visit was the lady next to us ordering her«custom roll» 4x, including the first time that she let her friend order it and they kept getting it wrong.

Sushi like everything Japanese is a representation of dedication. A lifelong passion to just one vision. unfortunately nothing I ate included passion. The roles were flavorless when he came to the main ingredient. All the flavor was left of the sauce they were drenched in. The rolls themselves were also poorly constructed. Quickly smooshed together and barely remained it one piece before it hit my mouth. Now at the end of my meal when I got the check I guess they were out of mints. What took its place was a store-bought off brand chocolate chip cookie which was individually wrapped in cellophane. Everyone was pleasant but two rolls and a seltzer water later I’m out 30 bucks and not impressed.

Sushi Lola’s in the new location is so much better than their old spot(in the same strip). You can actually move around in your seat and don’t have waiters pushing past you to get to the next table. My husband and I went on a Friday night around 8 and were seated within a few minutes. Our server was attentive and the food came out quickly. Miso soup was tasty and just salty enough. We also ordered the Volcano roll and the Desiree roll, both of which were good. The Volcano roll is supposed to be spicy and is noted as such, but there really wasn’t any heat there. If that was kicked up a few notches, we would have enjoyed it more. We don’t use wasabi and soy sauce on our sushi because we want to take the flavors of the sushi and not the addition of the condiments. We tried adding them anyways, but it wasn’t the heat we were looking for. At the end of our meal, along with our check we received two cookies to go. We both really enjoyed them with our beers next door at Redlight, Redlight!

I recently discovered this gem while attending an event in the area. My party and I got a table as soon as we walked in. The restaurant is located on Corrine drive walking distance from East End market. Their menu has a lot different option from spicy rolls to vegetarian rolls, you will easily find something to fit your taste. I particularly like the fact that not only do they serve sushi and Japanese food but they also have a section on their menu for Korean dishes. I am one to always look for new place to check out and I am glad I found this one. I ordered the unbelievable roll and it was delicious. The roll itself was made of a mix of spicy tuna and smoked salmon topped with steamed shrimp with spicy mayo which gave it a little kick. The service was excellent, our orders didn’t take too long to arrive and the staff was very friendly. When we were ready to leave they brought our checks with a chocolate chip cookie which I thought was neat. In conclusion, I really liked eating at Sushi Lola’s, the portion are good, the service is awesome and will certainly be returning to try some of their other dishes very soon.

I will be the first to admit that I have a Love Affair with Sushi. I have been wanting to try this place for the longest, and I am so happy I got the opportunity to finally try it. The ambiance is modern and intimate. The sushi was spot on and simply delicious, and I was able to venture out and try a new appetizer. Let’s dig into my order! Appetizer: Lava Dips– Deep fried Krab Salad crusted in Panko with Scallions, Spicy Mayo, Eel Sauce and Habanero Mayo. The verdict is why have I not ordered this ever in my life, considering how delightful and mouthwatering this appetizer is, which will definitely leave you craving for more. Sushi Rolls: Fire Roll– I was in the mood for something spicy and this roll consisted of Tuna, Shrimp, Scallions, Habanero, Jalapeño, Masago, and Sricha. I really enjoyed the twist of Jalapeño being in my sushi. Tropical Roll– To balance the tasty of my previously stated spicy roll, I wanted a little sweetness in my roll. This roll consisted of Salmon Cream Cheese, Avocado, Mango and Cranberries with Spicy Mayo. Mango is one of my favorite fruits and having it with my sushi made for a pleasant experience. Crunchy Shrimp Roll– This roll is what a Shrimp fan like myself craves which is loads of shrimp mixed with Avocado and Shrimp Tempura. I had a great experience the food was incredibly tasty. The ambiance was incredibly relaxing. The service was incredibly speedy. Sushi Spectacular!

Visited Sushi Lola’s today and it was a great lunch experience. We got there early so had our choice of any open seat so we sat closest to Corrine so we could look outside. That was quite lovely! We were served promptly and the owner(I think it was the owner) was super friendly. It’s always nice to have such bubbly staff especially being the first one in that day. I ordered the Chicken Bento Box and my hubby ordered the Shrimp Bento Box(both lunch portions). The ginger dressing on the salad was very good, but pretty standard for many sushi restaurants we’ve been to. The bento boxes themselves were good, but not spectacular. For the price, I was expecting more. The proteins came with rice, a spring roll and two fried dumplings. This was honestly the first time I’ve had a bento box at a sushi restaurant that didn’t have sushi. So was a bit disappointed here. I did read that the dinner portion does include that but again, most other places include more variety with their lunch dishes. At the end of the meal, they give you cookies which I was excited about as I read other reviews. They were definitely yummy and was a nice touch. Overall, the food tasted great and was cooked well so for that, I really enjoyed this place. I do want to come back just for sushi as that looked wonderful and fresh. Not so sure I’d try the bento boxes again here though.

Since the move the food has been inconsistent and the service has been worse. I totally understand why they wanted the bigger spot to have more tables, but it seems like they didn’t up the staff to make up for that. It’s constantly a good 45 minute wait for your order and a struggle to get refills of drinks. Also, every now and then I order a roll that just isn’t as good as it was the last 10 times I went there… don’t get me wrong, it’s still somewhere between okay and good, but at Sushi Lola’s I expect excellence and sometimes they no longer deliver. I will say, the homemade chocolate chip cookie at the end is delicious.

The last time we were in Orlando, my boyfriend and I tried to stop in here for dinner on a Saturday night but the place was packed with an hour wait. This time around we got here somewhat earlier and were able to get a table after a minimal wait. The restaurant is cute, simple, clean and comprised mostly of small tables that can be pushed together. During our visit, my boyfriend and I shared a sushi roll(don’t remember which but it was spicy), some nigiri(tuna, salmon and white tail) and a bowl of the miso ramen. The sushi was rolled really well and was really good. My boyfriend was impressed with the amount of wasabi used for the nigiri(I personally thought some of the pieces had too much). The ramen was delicious, with chewy noodles and a good amount/variety of fish cakes. I enjoyed the broth although the salt level kind of got to me at the end(and I love salt, bad I know). I’m not sure if that was more the broth or the rolled up piece of ham that was there. I’d get the ramen again but without the rolled up ham. The service is GREAT! Even when a large group came in, I still felt like I was well taken care of. The owner was also out, serving tables and making sure things were going smoothly. It’s a busy place so it can get loud at times. However, I still felt like it was reasonable and I didn’t have to raise my voice too much to hold a conversation. Definitely a place I’d go back if I were in the area.

It was just okay. Not terrible but I wouldn’t come again. At least not for the sushi. The sushi looked the part but tasted pretty plain. Even the playboy roll that comes highly recommended was just okay. Average. We tried three rolls and the playboy was the best of the bunch. The wine was overpriced for the flavor. We drank it down due to the cost but it was worse than a grocery store bargain bottle. The best part of the meal was the appetizer. We had the crab lava balls. Good flavor, crunch, and a little bit of spiciness. But you only get 3 or 6. For as much as I spent here I could have gone to Seito and had a much better meal. Sorry, Lola.
