Excellent service and food! We had the miso soup, clear soup, heaven roll, college roll, sesame crusted tuna, and sushi sampler. If you go M-F from 5 – 7 pm, you get all of that(minus the soups; we ordered those on the side) for $ 29.95. It’s more than enough for two people. DONOTMISS the Sesame crusted tuna! It was to die for!

Wouldn’t come back here again. Period. After a week of visiting in Gainesville, Florida I had been craving some sushi. Since I am unfamiliar with the town I relied on Unilocal to get me somewhere tasty. However that was not the case! I am very disappointed with this place’s four and half star review. If anything it’s closer to two! It’s not the worst sushi I’ve had but frankly because I was craving the food, it comes close to being the worst. No sushi should taste like pure cucumber and rice mixed. That’s the fusion created here. Sad to say, definitely disappointed.

My favorite sushi stop in Orlando. Kind owners, fresh ingredients, solid amount of food for price, quality sake and great flavor combinations! I love this spot!

Happened to drive by Ta-Ke Sushi on our way to the hotel and decided to return here for dinner. This place is a no-frills sushi restaurant, maybe even bordering a little on the divey side. We each ordered 2 rolls and they were served on generic white dinner plates, and the speakers they were playing the music through were blown to the point that all one could really hear was muffled mid-range, but one couldn’t clearly hear any of the words to the songs, and even the instrumentals were garbled. That said, the service is fast and friendly, the Asian guy making the sushi has a real talent and is also friendly with the customers, and the prices here aren’t bad. We both ordered a roll(I had the volcano roll and the tempura roll) and we also each had a beer. Price for everything for both of us came to just under $ 44 before gratuity.

You can never go wrong with the home cooked flavor and cozy atmosphere over at Ta-Ke Sushi, this place is as authentic and friendly as they come! I would like to thank the management for accepting my compliments and recommendations and even making appropriate changes, only enhancing the experience of the restaurant a bit more! Come see it for yourself! This place is awesome and warm!

A gem hidden in plain sight. The Japanese cookie roll and Gyoza is a must try. Friendly, courteous staff. Super fresh ingredients; even their sauces are made in house. Fair, reasonable prices. 5⁄5

I headed over to The Lake Ivanhoe area bc there are so many great bars and places to go now. Ta-Ke was at the top of my list to try. I was hoping to catch their amazing happy hour but we were way to late for that. We got there and the little restaurant was crowded so we sat at the window bar area. Every table was full. The server was very busy but super nice. The menu is super large and has something for everyone. There is great traditional japanese chirashis and kobachis mixed in with a diverse list of americanized rolls. We started with 3 amazing appetizers, a really good tuna kobachi, stuffed tuna and an avocado tuna tini. The tuna kobachi was in large cubes and tossed in togarashi so it had a little kick. it was served over thinly sliced cucumbers and was outstanding. The stuffed tuna rolls were nice and fresh. A slice of tuna was wrapped around a mix of crab and then topped with spicy mayo. The tuna tini was a standard but still had a nice marinade on it. We then followed up all that food with… you guessed… more food. I was on to sushi rolls. I had 2 unique rolls. The Buddah roll was a mix of raw tuna and yellowtail with tempura and buddha sauce. The angel was crunchy and would be great for a sushi novice. My favorite item of the night was my chirashi bowl. For 18 dollars it was a big bowl of rice topped with a huge selection sliced raw fish, sashimi. Everything was super fresh and it had an assortment, ebi, escolar, yellowtail, salmon, tuna and a few more. It was a lot of food for a reasonable price and we will def be back to eat here. Its great location makes it conducive to cruising around to all the local bars. You can check out the guesthouse or the imperial or head over for dessert at Better Than Sex. This is a great strip of restaurants and bars.

Wanted to eat sushi while in the area and found this location on Unilocal, which had great reviews. The sushi is good and the restaurant is small but nice. We sat by the window facing the street which seemed like a great spot at first, but regretted it after. Although our waitress was extremely nice, we were barely acknowledged while there. People who arrived later than we did received their food first & left before us. It took is 45 minutes just to get our Miso Soup and Salad while the couple next to us, received their appetizer, rolls and check — and they arrived 30 minutes after us. I overheard the 2 ladies next to us at the same window and they seemed to have the same problem. The place is good — but I would definitely recommend not sitting at the window facing the street to avoid delays in your order. We were there for 2 hours which seems ridiculous.

Great little sushi bar. Fresh fish, nice atmosphere, and good prices. Their Ta-Ke Combo 1 for $ 14(7 nigiri and a spicy tuna roll) is a fantastic deal. I had the Ta-Ke combo 1 with a substituted firecracker roll. All the fish tasted very fresh and tender, and the rice was just right. The firecracker roll wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be, but it was still a good roll.

Ok so listen to the reviewers here! Get the happy hour special, it was very generous for 2 people. We added a roll and could not finish all of it! Luckily we had friends willing to help out, I don’t think saving sushi in a hot car while we went to a show would be a good idea… We will be back for sure

I am pretty sure I discovered my new favorite Sushi Joint. This place is located in the lovely Ivanhoe Village. I never even heard of this place, until a good friend of mine recommended we come here for dinner. I immediately fell in love with this place as soon as I walked in. The place reminds of a charming boutique with a little zen thrown in the mix. It had that fireplace feel with roasted marshmallows ring to it. So picturesque! I came during the perfect time, which was during Happy Hour. Happy Hour truly equals happiness! So please make sure to come during the hours of 5pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday if you want to experience Happy Hour! I was able to order a dinner for two for $ 29.95, this option is only available during Happy Hour. The dinner for two, includes an appetizer, a sushi or sashimi sample, and two chef rolls. So here were my choices: Appetizer: Shrimp Shumai– Steamed Shrimp Dumplings served with Teriyaki Sauce. Verdict: Refreshing, Light, and Delicious! Sushi Sampler: Yellowfin Tuna, Escolar, Salmon, Tilapia, and Shrimp. Verdict: Fresh Ingredients that hit the spot! Sushi Rolls: Buddha Roll and Heaven Roll Verdict: The rolls were simply filled with seafood delight and were truly heavenly I honestly could not get enough. Let’s not forget to mention they served the sushi on the most adorable sushi boat. Also, they have the option to sit outside and view the beautiful lakeside. How awesome is that Sushi by the Lakeside. Service: Awesome! Happy Hour: Awesome! Experience: Awesome! Taste Factor: Awesome! Yes this place has officially earned my 5 Star Awesomeness Scale!

I pass this place all the time but finally went in the other night. We went during happy hour so decided to do there dinner for two special for $ 30. It was a good deal, one app 5 pieces of nigiri, and two roles. We also got a bottle of wine and another roll. We really liked the budah and take roll, although kinda similar with the sauce. The college roll was just ok but still enjoyable. Our server was very knowledgable and friendly. I will be back to try more rolls in the future :)

I’m always on be hunt for a new great sushi joint, and I’ve been wanting to try this place after reading some of he other reviews. I am sooooo glad I finally made it here! My sushi-buddy and I got happy hour special with the garlic edamame, sushi appetizer, and the fantastic and college rolls. We also each got another roll(her volcano and me Buddha). Everything was absolutely delicious! The server, I believe her name was Alyssa, was super sweet. When we came in she asked if we’d ever been there before, because she didn’t recognize us. I thought it was cool that she«knew» her customers and the folks who frequented her restaurant on a regular basis. We will definitely become regulars — it was great! The food, the service, the quaint building. I loved it all! I also was thrilled to learn that the owner was also the owner of Wazzabi in Winter Park. That used to be my faaaavorite and I was super bummed when it closed. Glad to know I can get my candy cane roll somewhere in town again!

I struggled between 2 and 3 stars. It’s a small place, clean, but the staff consisted of one waitress, one sushi chef, and one regular chef. Service was average, not fast but not«complainable» slow. They have a LOT of rolls on their menu, not as much other food. We went on a Wednesday night and the place was about ½ full the whole time. The miso soup was some of the best I’ve had, rich, fresh, and didn’t immediately separate like it does at many places. The ginger salad dressing was interesting, it included peanuts which gave it a unique texture. We also ordered an interesting appetizer that was like a fusion of spring rolls and crab rangoon. It was whole shrimp surrounded by a mix of crab meat and cream cheese all wrapped in spring roll paper and deep fried. Tasty, but not really worth the $ 8 for 2 rolls cut into halves. My big complaint was the sushi quality. My friend got rolls which mostly hid the quality of the fish. I got a combo which was well priced at $ 22 because it gave me 10 sashimi slices, 8 nigiri and a rainbow roll. Unfortunately, the white tuna had that distinct«freezer» taste like it had been frozen, thawed, frozen, and defrosted again. The tuna looked anemic, the salmon had no flavor, and I bit into either a piece of mackarel or halibut and nearly gagged because there was a chewy bit that caused me to have to keep gnawing until I finally stopped before I gagged. I only ate maybe 1⁄3 of the sushi plate because none of the fish tasted good and that chewy bit just killed my appetite. So I can’t really recommend this place aside from the soup and salad.

Why did it take me so long to come here?! It’s so quaint and homey. The servers are really nice and appropriately attentive. The fish is fresh and the prices are great! They have a ton of unique rolls at $ 9 – 11 and that’s cheap compared to a lot of other spots. I have had their Buddha Roll, Ying Yang, Double Shrimp, and Lobster Roll. All were fabulous. The Yaki Tori and Shrimp Shumai are great as well. I also LOVE how they will put even just 2 rolls on a boat. I had never been blessed with a boat before and Ta-Ke doesn’t skimp on their boat distribution! Makes for a great presentation! This is my new favorite go to sushi spot if I feel like traveling away from the one 3 blocks from my house.

I’ve driven by this restaurant for years but never stopped to check them out… mainly because it was always on my way home from work… and I didn’t really want to deal with parking. Well, fast forward to present time and I have Elite Unilocaler, Lita G., to thank for introducing me to this little gem and, coincidentally, on International Sushi Day(who knew?!). It’s a very nice, intimate little sushi spot near Lake Ivanhoe with some fabulous views if you get the opportunity to sit outside. Since it was a rainy evening, we opted for a booth inside. It’s not a large space but for the space they have they’d made it very cozy. All diners are treated to warm towels upon being seated. I like that touch! The menu is quite extensive so it may take some time to flip through but they have your usual mainstays if you don’t like to veer too much off the beaten path. I started with the tuna kobachi and seaweed salad. It was a nice start to the meal but don’t expect to order this as an entrée for one since it is quite small. I liked the diced up pieces of tuna added to the salad. I’ve never had prepared like this before. I’m a big fan of spicy tuna so I decided to try the Buddha Roll. It had a nice crunch(due to the tempura and cucumber) and was loaded with not only the spicy yellowfin tuna but also shrimp and avocado. No need to mess up the flavors with soy sauce! Heavenly on its own! The presentation of our rolls was beautiful and overwhelming as we realized we ordered so much food. The atmosphere is great for a laid back and quiet dinner… however it was a little quiet as I could eavesdrop on the conversation behind us. :) I look forward to venturing away from our trusty sushi spot in WP and introducing this spot to my husband in the future!

I finally got around to checking out Ta-Ke Sushi, and was very pleased with the experience. We went with the $ 29.99 happy hour special, which was an appetizer, a sampler, and two rolls. It saves about $ 7 – 9 off the individual price, which is always welcome. The sushi was delicious and fresh, and the rolls were all very creative. There seemed to be only three staff working during our visit: sushi chef & waitress(owners?), and someone manning the grill/fryer in the back kitchen. Yet service was impeccable and friendly. For such a small place, there is a decent amount of seating, and you can choose from booths, tables, sushi bar, countertop by the window, or outdoor seating. The sunset view of the lake is nice, even if it is right by the street. Overall, I love this place, as it really stands out from other sushi restaurants, and can’t wait to return!

I was looking forward to saying those words, «Order The Unilocal». Something about it seemed, cool, different, fun. After looking through the list of places to visit I bookmarked a few, that’s how my husband and I ended up at Ta Ke Sushi on Friday night. It was our first time at this restaurant and first«Order The Unilocal» experience, we didn’t know what to expect but I was excited to try it out. My excitement quickly faded however, after having to say, over and over again, «I want to order the Unilocal». She had NO idea what I was talking about and I had no idea it was going to be such a chore helping her to understand. At first I thought well, maybe they are not honoring it any more or they never were to begin with. You could just image how silly I felt after saying it for a third time and it still not clicking. I began to think I was in the wrong place. But then, atlas, after a few confused minutes I showed her the Unilocal app on my phone and a light bulb went off. She(our waitress) hurried to the kitchen to get our meal. When she came back to take our drink orders the first thing she said was, «and leave good review on Unilocal, okay,» with the sweetest smile. She then apologized for the mix up and said, «next time I’ll be ready». The«Order The Unilocal» dish was good, and it’s also a new addition to their menu. It’s called, the Fire Dragon Roll — a pretty decent dish, just not something I’d order again because I wasn’t crazy about it. The chef personally brought it to our table and literally lit the whole plate on fire. That was cool. After a few oohhs, and ahhs, we took our first bite. Like I said, I wasn’t crazy about it, but gladly, I wasn’t turned off. It’s made with«tempura shrimp, asparagus, and cucumber, topped with eel and avocado, served with eel sauce». The service was excellent. The waitress was very attentive, she did her best to listen well and understand what we desired. She checked on us often but wasn’t intrusive. She smiled the whole time, like she really enjoyed serving us. I knew before leaving I would write them a positive review. It’s small, cozy, and intimate, which was perfect for a Friday night, quiet dinner, after a long days work. The wine definitely added a nice touch to our meal.
