The Garden

This was my first visit, so I was asking a lot of questions. The owner, who’s name is Chuck, is a really cool guy. He gave me a quick tour of his new place and showed me his garden out back (hence the name). I saw the smoker, and his little prep kitchen. Despite it’s location in a more industrial side of town, the setup was very clean, organized, and looked well maintained.
I ordered the ½ rack of St Louis ribs with mustard greens and coleslaw. The slaw was a more German/​vinegar recipe, which is more to my liking. The greens were tart and very good (with a little vinegar on the site). The coleslaw was also a little sweet, a little tart, and thankfully without mayo :).
The ribs were flavored well from the smoking, but arent done with any sauce, so get that on the side. The meat was about what you’d expect from St Louis ribs. I think if i had gotten there just as they came off the smoker, they would have been perfect.
Chuck threw in some pickles and bread and my meal was complete. I had a great time meeting him, and I think you’ll enjoy your meal. I cant speak for the rest of the food there, but the ribs were good. Just ask him what’s fresh off the smoker to get the best meal possible!
