The music inside was some middle school crap… Honestly the music playing over the loud speakers outside the club was better than the inside!!! Tell the DJs to move from bad 2006 hip hop to EDM or any other club music ffs…

The club was fun but the bar staff was snotty. The bartender gave me a wrong drink and basically told me «sorry, I gave you what you ordered». So basically she said she didn’t care and I paid $ 11 for a drink that I didn’t want and was offered no solution at all. The customer is always right, unless you go to this bar. The only reason I gave two stars is because the rest of the club was fun. I don’t recommend skipping this club and going to another one.

The Groove is okay. The layout isn’t the greatest, causing it to get crowded very easily. There’s lots of places where two or three people can create a choke point where it’s hard to get by. One peeve of mine is that the bar doesn’t have a posted drink list. How do I know I’m getting charged the same as everyone else? I’m not really a drinker, so thankfully this doesn’t really affect me. Otherwise the music is decent. Too bad there’s just not more floor space. I recommend getting the City Walk Party Pass as it can be super busy on some days and dead on others.

As a tourist, I found that The Groove offered a different kind of clubbing experience, especially since it was very close to Universal Studios. No pat down, so that was a plus. I walked inside and noticed the whole dance floor was loosely packed. It wasn’t busy nor empty. The dancing was pretty typical. EDM, Top 40, Hip-Hop was being played. The lighting in the venue is what made the place an overall awesome place to be!

This place was alright. Sorta empty for a Saturday night. The red room was cool. That’s about it.

We chose the Groove to party and dance the last time were in Orlando. The club is fairly large with a good size dance floor. The DJ spun all types of music including most popular hits as well as mixed in some Techno for that true club feel. The club was not overlay crowded the evening we were there. We are from NY so if you are from here or another large city don’t expect the same type club experience. But your wallet will thank you as clubs in larger cities can be pricey. This is definitely a tourist type club designed for a variety of ages. The Bartender seemed a little slow but the drinks where decent. All in all we had a good time and were happy with our choice

What a fun venue for drinking and dancing! The Groove is Universal CityWalk’s high-energy dance club with lots of music, music videos, and dancing for the 21 and older crowd. This multi-level club is designed to look like a century-old theater in various stages of renovation, but in true theme park magical fashion the club features the latest in sound systems, special effects including lighting and fog, and a soaring wall of colorful video screens. If you’re from New York, LA, or Miami then you might find The Groove to be a bit lame compared to the rave clubs that you’re used to seeing back home, but this is part of the theme park experience which allows tourists to enjoy the pulsating music and swirling lights of the«hottest dance club in the universe».(Their words, not mine.) Our group was there on a weekday night, which would normally be pretty quiet, but this was Spring Break, and so there was a very fun crowd inside. The DJ was playing Top 40, Hip-Hop, R&B and Top Pop Hits so there was a little bit of something for everyone’s tastes, and after a few drinks we were intermingling with the future CEO’s of America out on the dance floor. If you’re ready to take a break from the main dance floor there are multiple bars and three themed lounges — the cool Blue Room, which has a futuristic sci-fi feel; the sizzling Red Room; and the tranquil Green Room, which has a 70’s vibe. The Adult beverage of choice is clearly Red Bull — Red Bull Shots, Frozen Red Bull slushies, Red Bull & Vodka, Red Bull punch… Well, what can I say? It was a fun time and thankfully no one was taking any pictures!

I don’t usually attend touristy bar/clubs in Orlando since I am a local, but I had a friend in town who wanted to try CityWalk. We went on a Friday night, and most of the bar/clubs were empty! We went into The Groove though and they were packed. They had a very large dance floor and lots of bars. The music was decent. The drinks were overpriced. but I knew they would be. Overall, we had a good time.

This review is a little overdue as I was in Orlando a couple of months prior. The Groove is a pretty decent club that has plenty of room for dancing, good music with music videos playing on various screens, and a generally fun atmosphere. Only been there once, so can’t speak to whether or not it is generally fun all the time. Crowd appears to be typical Orlando Universal CityWalk people, which seems to be a random mix of tourists, widely varying in age, with probably the majority being substantially older than you would see at a club in NYC. Oh, randomly they will have drink specials that are pretty ridiculous. like 2 dollar shots or something. I do feel like the goal of the bars here in Orlando are to get you wasted as quickly as possible.

Groove Lounge is a good starter for the night. DJ was on the money for most the night w/a few slip ups that to those w/a music ear could probably only pick up on. My complaint was there wasn’t enough staffing on a Saturday night to open up the VIP area. How’s that possible? Touristy yes but it’s a young teen to early 20’s crowd. My recommendation definitely use as a starter to the night.

Short and Simple: Business Trip Night #1 — DEAD. DJ was TERRIBLE!!! He let the WHOLE song play.(WHY?!) Night #2 — Much better but The DJ refused to play«Empire State of Mind» because we were in Orlando! That place could use some NYC flavor! HA!!! I did dance the night away!

This place was really ground breaking when it opened many years ago. Lots of other spots have caught up and passed it since then. They even resort to teen nights now to fill it up. I wouldn’t go far out of my way to come here, but if your in the area it’s OK.

You would think Thanksgiving Eve would generate a big crowd but it was an absolute ghost town at Citywalk. The Groove has potential based on the layout and the music, but with such an off night it would be really hard to tell. Of all the venues at Citywalk, this is the one that is closest to what most people think of when they are looking for a club. Don’t’ forget your pass for $ 11.99 to hop between all the locations.

Normally… I don’t hang out at touristy clubs but, I must say that I had a BLAST at The Groove not 1 but…2 nights in a row. Walked in… the dance floor was filled with people who just want to have a good time… the drinks were flowing… the DJ played some pretty good old and new Top 40 hits… and it was a just an all around… great time. It is what you make it… don’t just stand there… have a great time and you will meet some pretty interesting people ;)

i went in with low expectations because i figured this was a teenage dance club. i was very pleasantly surprised to find that the dj was AWESOME(who puts the fresh prince of bel air lyrics into a set?! genius!), the dance floor packed, and the light show kind of crazy. we stayed in the red room the whole night(«$ 2 shots in the red room till the end of this song» — this announcement was made during at least 5 songs. guess they were trying to get everyone to the red room). my only complaint was that there was no coat check. :(kind of annoying to have to dance while wearing or clutching your jacket. other than that — a great option if you’re at universal city walk! loved that we were able to come here instead of having to taxi to downtown orlando from our loew’s resort rooms.

I have not been to this club/venue since 2003 possibly? I used to head there for special events and just to get my dance on but for some reason… just haven’t been back in a while. Last night I attended a Fundraiser/Fashion Show with silent auctions — raising money for and It was awesome! This is a great venue for an event. It’s huge, has 5 bars, upstairs and downstairs and just so much room to mix and mingle. The stage is a great size, not overwhelming and not too small — it was literally perfect for a fashion show. There were servers with food walking around as well as an entire set up on the 2nd floor, it was beautiful. Every single Universal employee working the floor was so nice, I was so impressed. There is a bar in the back that was holding all of the silent auction items and it was a great area to have this. Everything was displayed nice and no one was cramped. This is really a great event space with such great staff!

I remember when this place opened and I remember the hype that surrounded it. I couldn’t believe that it was still opened when I returned to Orlando for a business trip 2 months ago. Unfortunately, while it has the trendy, pretentious feel(with several bouncers standing at the front), and a few folks queued up, there were NOPEOPLE inside. Yes, it looks and feels like a dance club, but the music is eh, the crowd is eh and the drinks are eh. The only nice part of the club was the bouncer from Hawaii.

Ahh the club you love to hate. I wanted to love this place, I really did… but as usual it wasn’t what it was cracked up to be. I love the set up of the club and it has real potential… but the lame crowd and the weak drinks… mixed with terrible music… makes for a not so good night. I gave an extra star for convenience… being on the walk… made it easy to jump to another spot.

In Universal City Walk you’ll find lots of restaurants and bars but this is the only place categorized as strictly a dance club. And its a dance club all right. The black lights, disco type effects and huge dance floor make it hard to do anything but jump on the floor while here. They have several bars and VIP areas. All of which with different themes. I was in one VIP area that had a long couch stretching the length of room, it was comfy and the room had a modern edge that all dance clubs should possess. They play varying music depending open what day you’re there but rest assured no matter what it will be danceable! So, get dressed up and come out to this swanky dance club within Universal.
