My family and I went to union burger a few different times. Each time was less impressive than the last… Which seems counterintuitive for a new place that is trying to find its groove, however this was the case it really did get worse and worse. The service is really nothing notable mostly people who were uninterested and being there due to it being so very slow. The food was less than stellar, burgers typically very greasy, soggy fries and generally speaking just for food and service altogether. It appears that this location is closed, and it has unfortunate is for the proprietors of the business it’s a better thing for Lake Nona as this was not a fair representation of the superior restaurants and shopping in this new area of Orlando.

No chance this place survives another 6 months. No business at lunch hour. 3 tables occupied. Absentee ownership. Good thing it was empty because you’d be waiting a long time if they were busy. Too much competition to not step up their game. Tax write off for the franchisee? As predicted, CLOSED.

My family has eaten here about four times and we won’t go back any more unless they make some major changes. The wait is ridiculous. Twice I’ve called the order in. The first time after waiting 20 minutes to go pick it up I got there and the food hadn’t even been started. The first time it took 45 minutes to get our food. After a 15 minute drive back home we were missing one whole burger for one of the kids. We did call and the management gave us a gift card for our meal. But we’ve gone back since to use the gift card and the wait still hasn’t changed. The second time calling it in took about 35 minutes until it was ready. Fries were cold and mushy and the burgers were charred. Only once have I been there when it’s busy. The other three times it was empty and they still took forever. Each time we’ve been the burgers were way over cooked. Maybe if they wouldn’t overlook the meat the wait would t be so long. Seems like it was about a year ago my husband first went here and said it was better than 5 Guys. Well, not any more. Went to 5 Guys last Friday and it was great. Sorry Union Burger. You need to make some changes for the better.

A fifteen minute wait for a cheeseburger! And $ 8.50 for one burger. No thanks. Won’t be back.

Had another go just for poop and giggles. Order four different milkshakes to share with the family. Want to know how to make a tasteless milkshake? Ask anyone at UB.

Totally overpriced. Service extremely slow — 30 min for 1 burger, fries, onion rings, and chicken wrap. I understand that this isn’t McDonalds, but were not at Capital Grille either. The taste was meh, almost chipped my tooth on the onion ring(overly crunchy — too long in the fryer) nothing extraordinary for almost $ 30 worth of food. Experience was unmemorable … sad to say but I’d rather have a $ 6/$ 7 burger from five guys and outback.

Go to 5 guys or nonablue if you want a real burger this place is a joke. Wendy’s is right down the road and serves better food at a better price imo.

I decided to try this place for the 3rd time… it is still no good. We waited 20 min and no one was there. I had wine and I am pretty sure it was expired and was at a turning point. The burger was ok but not anything great for $ 8 and the sweet potato fries were not good over fried and soggy. For my husband and I it was a $ 35 dinner at a gross burger joint. We need restaurants in the area but not ones like that.

Pros: 1) Honest — They tell you it will take 20 minutes. 2) Friendly staff. Cons: 1) Expensive for mediocre food. 2) Average ambiance. Looks like a low-end Firehouse subs. 3) Long wait, 20 minutes too long for average burger. When we went in there were 2 – 3 other tables in there just staring at each other waiting for their orders. Definitely don’t take your first date there unless you plan out a lot of small talk ahead of time!

In being skeptical of the reviews posted, we tried Union burger last night. The restaurant was not full, and it was well cleaned. The tables were clear and the had a nice general seating area. It did take some time to order, but not terribly long. There was only one cashier, and the group in front of us took quite some time with their order. We ordered our food and had a 15 minute wait time for the food to be delivered to our table. I was okay with that, because this isn’t fast food. I prefer for my food to be made to order. The food gets delivered to us, and looks great. We split a bacon and egg, poutine burger, and fries between us. Both burgers were tasty, but I preferred he bacon and egg burger. The fries on the other hand were similar to previous reviews. In the colder side, tasted stale, and it looked like we got the bottom of the barrel fries. Not tasty to me. The table next time returned their fries because they also got the bottom of the barrel fries. The staff quickly provided them a new order of fries, so kudos to the staff. Overall a good atmosphere. They also had a great milkshake selection, and I will be back to try dessert one day. Overall a I would be willing to try Union burger again, but be selective in what I order. And focus on trying a Nutella or strawberry milkshake!

Pros: The service is great. Soda machine offers variety Cons: dirty tables, The burgers lack flavor and are very dry. Onion rings offered very few to eat, the cheese curds and gravy dish was awful!!! We paid $ 39 for burgers for three people. Wendy’s would have been a better choice. I don’t plan on going back. I do not recommend this establishment.

Went there for the first time the other day. My friend and I ordered two burgers with fries. The fries that cost almost 4 bucks were a little cold and pretty bland. My burger, the goat cheese was pretty decent but my friends burger was pretty bland and lacking toppings that were ordered. It took more than 20 min for our food to come out. They were not that busy, and we watched a group of people leave because they were not greeted by staff.

Union Burger seems to suffer from an identity crisis. It wants to be easy and accessible like your average fast food/burger joint, but it tries to play with the more upscale restaurants as well by offering industrial décor and pseudo-table-side service. The problem is, Union Burger performs neither role very well. When you order your burger, you’re not offered a choice in temperature. What you receive is somewhere between medium well and well done. The flavor is bland and the burger I received was dripping with grease. The particular sandwich I ordered was advertised as «The Steakhouse Burger» which comes with Onion Rings, Garlic Sauce, Mushrooms and A1. Classic staples such as Pickle, Lettuce, Tomato, and Onion come at an additional charge to an already expensive burger that you can’t pick a temperature for. Upon receiving my burger I was greeted by what I’ve decided I can only label as «cafeteria food.» I can forgive the portion sizes on account of Union Burger being a Canadian brand, and American restaurants are notorious for their oversized portions. Union Burger lies in the middle of the road which more often than not means you’re going to be run over by a bus. On the one hand it tries to be fast and accessible in the same strain as Panera or Chipotle offering you the option to take something on the go in a timely manner, or sit down for a bit in a «nicer than McDonalds» atmosphere. At the opposite end of the spectrum, Union Burger also offers wine and beer with their offerings probably in the hopes that the guests will be too drunk to realize the inferiority of the product they’ve received. Unfortunately this also sets them up as direct competition to larger restaurants in the area such as Nona Blue which offers identical price points and dedicated table side service. I can’t justify the increased price for«convenience» at Union Burger when I’m not really sure if what I’m eating is a burger. In an ironic logistics decision, Union Burger is the awkward neighbor to restaurant/tavern Nona Blue which recently boasted the«Best Burger in Orlando» according to the Sentinel Foodie Awards and offers almost identical prices in their burger offerings. Pricey Mediocrity is a spot on description for the newest member of the Lake Nona restaurant scene. You’re better off getting 15 McDoubles for the same price.

Will never go back. Horrible food, horrible service. First, there is only only one way to order the burger… dry and over-cooked. The«traditional poutine fries» had what tasted like cafeteria brown gravy from a powdered mix. The fries were overly greasy, soft, and mashed together into several clumbs… and the curds were not real cheese curds. Each portion of the meal was served individually. Here’s your poutine. Wait 3 minutes. Here’s your burger, sir, but the lady will have to wait for hers! Here is YOUR gluten-free(i.e., ordered on a bed of lettuce) served on a nice crispy BUN… WHAT??? OK, we’ll redo it. Wait 5 minutes. Here’s your fixed burger ma’am. Wait 3 minutes… Here is your Chocolate Milkshake(which was now really dessert)!

Pricey mediocrity is the best way to describe Union Burger. It took over 20 minutes to get our food. The fries could have been great if they were hot(I am the Fry Snob, after all). Thankfully the fries were free since I had a coupon from their website. The burger was passable. It was a little dry, and the patty was tiny compared to the bun. Their shake machine was down, which was disconcerting, as they’d only been open a week. I really wanted to try a Nutella shake. Also, a friend got a regular order of onion rings. There were only 3 rings! The only reason I’d come back here is for hot fries and to try a shake.

It’s a new burger restaurant in the area soooooooo, gave it a try. There were allot of staff, most seemed to still be in training mode, crowded, yet no managers or owners greeting or welcoming customers to their new restaurant. Nice décor, modern, but !!! Their prices are not inexpensive so one would expect the highest of quality!!! We ordered different burger types. The buns were fresh n of good quality but the burger wasn’t very flavorful. They were rather bland. The fries were ok but not what you’d make a special trip for!!! We also got an order of Poutine, which is supposed to be crispy fries, real cheese curds, and gravy. The gravy tasted as though from a package, the cheese was NOT curds, n the fries soggy. We know the amount of commitment, effort, energy, and money required to open a business. Hoping the owners get their investment straightened out and turn Union Burger into a restaurant that survives. We’ll go back«once more» time and hopefully all aspects will be corrected.

Union Burger was just okay. I tried the Bourbon Burger. It’s was ok, rather dry. We think they use lean ground beef. I tried the sweet potatoes and they were just alright. I’ve had better. Hubby had the All American Burger, again very dry. The redeeming item; fried pickles! Amazing! The actually deep fry a quarter spear and serve it with ranch dipping sauce. It was quite crowded and slow cleaning the tables. There was a young girl with a positive attitude and a big smile! She was working hard and I let her know we appreciated her smile!

Overpriced and mildly disappointing. My cheeseburger was dry and lacking in flavor, the poutine gravy was very salty and the cheese wasn’t melted or in curds as it should have been. The Nutella milkshake was very good, although I think it had pieces of Kit Kat bar in it??? As they’re a new restaurant I’ll give them another try and the benefit of the doubt that they’re still fine tuning the details. I am really hoping for better if I visit again.
