This is a train ride that takes you to the Conservation Station. This is an area where a lot of research is done for the health and well being of animals and reptiles. Everything from fertility of the animals within species, all the way to checking family lines. The research that is being done at this facility was very impressive. Along the way I while you’re on your train you get to see some of the holding pens of the different animals. This is where the different animals sleep at night, and receive healthcare and nutrition. Do not let anybody tell you that Disney’s Animal Kingdom is not taking care of their animals. They are doing a superb job. I recommend this train ride to anyone, as an educational voyage into the animal kingdom. A little bit of a break from the craziness of theme parks.

Your scenic ride to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and Conservation Station Overall: 3.75 Stars The Wildlife Express is the only way(that I know of) to get to Rafiki’s Planet Watch and a few other attractions located within this area. It is about 5 minutes each way(to and from the home station). Along the way you see holding pens/buildings for multiple species of animals including rhinos and elephants. We were lucky enough to see baby rhinos running around on our way. The whole ride sticks very close to the African theme it is representing. It’s also a rather smooth ride moving at a slow pace so everyone gets to see their surrounding and doesn’t fly off the train. Make sure your children are sitting in the middle! This is a Must Ride simply because it is the only way to get to certain areas of the park. Plus it’s nice to see the other side of the park. The standard wait time during my mid-July visit was 10 – 15 minutes.
