Making a curry tonight that includes lemon grass (an essential ingredient) and couldn’t find it anywhere but here… LOVE THIS PLACE!
I’ve been making the drive from P-​town for years, everything is super fresh (even in the middle of winter) and they always have those hard to find items.
Yep, it’s pricier than a regular supermarket, but IMHO worth it!

Without a doubt Phoenix is the best place for fresh produce in Orleans. Everything is always fresh, seasonal and well-​priced, and I love the way this store is organized, homey and super-​convenient. Tehy carry the usual suspects, and every so often will have something unusual and fun to try.
The staff is always helpful and charming, which makes the experience all the more enjoyable. Plenty of parking out front makes it easy to get in and out even at the hight of summer. Pop next door to the health food store, and you’re golden!

This place rocks… if you’ve become used to the sad state of supermarket produce, you’ll be shocked by the quality here. And it’s really not, or at least not much, more expensive than the supermarket. Want green beans? Just grab a whole handful… there are no rotten ones to sort through in the bin at Phoenix. Nothing is wilted. I had forgotten how amazing an orange could be, until I followed the advice on a bin that had a hand-​written sign that said «amazing» … it was accurate. The young kids working the register are quiet and friendly and precise. Plus, I usually see some really cool people shopping there, so it just makes me feel cooler by association, even though I’m really just a middle-​aged dork. My only complaint— what happened to the bike rack that used to be out front ???
