My husband and I finally managed to stop and have dinner after putting it off and we were so glad we did. We ordered the three course meal which came with an appetizer, salad, dinner entre. I chose the spinach pie and he chose the humus with toasted pita. The humus was fantastic and to think they make it all in house. The spinach pie is also a must have. I had the Pastitsio(noodle with beef sauce and some kind of creamy something on top) and my husband had the Kota Mykonos(stuffed chicken breast). Each entre came with two sides. I just couldn’t eat it all but no worries… my leftovers made a great lunch the next day. We definitely would order those items again but not until we try some of the other dishes. What I really liked was no loud blasting music in the background. We were able to talk and relax as long as we chose. So stop driving by like I did and get in there have a meal. YUMMMMM

Great find in ormond beach. Could not get in a few weekends ago due to the belly dancing — it was packed. So we tried again tonight. Food was delicious and fresh. Greek salad good quality greens and loaded with the right veg and feta. Lovely dressing. I had the pastitio — a savory baked pasta dish. Creamy and savory. Perfect green beans and zucchini as sides. Husband had a gyro platter. Meat was on point. My entrée was part of a 3 course menu so I got the baklava. Warm gooey goodness. Leaps and bounds above the other Greek restaurants around. Great to hear the Greek couple near us enjoying their meal too

My husband and I tried Greektown Taverna tonight at the recommendation of a friend. We were very impressed by the setting, and enjoyed the atmosphere and quality of food and pleasant servers. I have been to many Greek restaurants worldwide and this is close to the very top of my list. And I’m picky. Very picky. We started with the Greek salad. It was fresh, crisp and had the perfect components including a light tasty dressing… then we had the grilled octopus appetizer. Only one other time have I liked octopus. This was top rate tender, perfectly grilled and flavored octopus. Both my hubby and I immediately said we’d always order it whenever we come back. I also especially liked the potatoes and the amazing phylo dough crusted~powdered sugar dusted~custardy yummy hot dessert~which we’ve forgotten the name of but think it’s the 3rd dessert on the menu. We will return soon and update our review. For now, I’ll say I think it would be hard to go wrong there.

We came here for dinner on a night when the owner had invited several belly dancing groups to preform. The dancing was wonderful, but the nice surprise was the outstanding Greek food. Everything was REALLY good. And we didn’t even get to the lamb looked and smelled so good. We will definitely go back. Service was good too, even though they were slammed with people

From the moment we walked in… just amazing. Good Greek music, greeted warmly, seated at a nice table with white linen tablecloths & deep blue napkins. Beautiful. The food. Heaven. I’m half Greek & I have to say this: it’s the best Greek food I’ve ever had. I had the pastitsio, green beans & roasted potatoes. Hubby had the lamb chops, zucchini & rice pilaf. Some Greek red wine & now waiting for dessert. We’ll be back!

Great food and good service. Highly recommend. Dessert was excellent as well. The menu is extensive and although I didn’t know much the server was very helpful in explaining. Owner can out to greet and that is always a plus.

There are a few restaurants in Ormond Beach that are good, the Greektown Taverna is wonderful! Four of us dine There last night and it was such a delicious and fun experience. We started with the Saganaki, fried cheese. One person in our party had the avgelomono soup and kalamata olives. Then we chose to sample different dishes such as lollipop lamb chops, dolmades, hummus with great home made puta bread, charbroiled octopus, Greek salad, gyros, desert coffee and lots of wine. We were so happy with every single dish. The staff, from our knowledgeable waiter, Jason, to Theo owners Taki, George and Petros were so welcoming. We felt like family. We will be back again and again and tell everyone about it. OPA!!! Dan and Jeannette Rossano

Pretty solid Greek food. The green salad had generous portions of feta cheese and a light but tasty dressing. The Skordalia was a new dish for me. Similar to hummus, this potato and garlic spread was wicked tasty and the homemade pita was really good. The chicken kabab was juicy and flavorful. Atmosphere is a little diner like but the food is worth the trip.

My Wife and I were in town for a Doctors appointment and afterwards we decided to have dinner on east side of 95 as we live on westside of the county, in Deland. We decided to park and Unilocal the local eateries. There were several with great reviews. We both feel that we can see a serious review versus the type that you can never please. We picked this restaurant for it cuisine and the number of positive reviews. We had two appetizers a cup of the house orzo soup and the baked tomato & feta both of these were delicious and served in very timely manner. We shared both with each other and had the same feeling that the baked tomato and feta scored off the chart for freshness and flavor. Outstanding the seasoning was without a doubt perfect. The entre we chose was nat adventurous she had the gyro with pita and I had the salmon portion were generous and the sides string beans and roasted zucinni were superb the seasoning was too tempt the pallet . Our final thoughts except for the salmon being several dollars above market pricing .We will be back thanks for great service and excellent meal. Allan and Stephanie Ney Deland, Fl

A warm and genuine greeting at the door. An attentive and courteous wait staff and super fresh food. What more could we ask for. There are many eating establishments here in Ormond beach. But very few for people who want food and not fast food or commercial prepackaged garbage. I had the chicken Slovaki kebabs, grilled zucchini, and string beans and a wonderful fresh tomato oregano sauce. My dining companion chose the Greek town sampler. Pistachio, stuffed grape leaves, and moussaka. This dish was accompanied by grilled zucchini and wonderful Greek lemon potatoes. This is going to be our go to place for wonderful fresh and healthy eating. The only thing I can suggest, is leave room for dessert! We haven’t had a chance to sample any of it and it looks wonderful. Can’t wait to go back again next week

Our first time there tonight and we were really impressed. We were welcomed as if we had been there dozens of times. The food was wonderful, and Rina, our waitress was delightful. My husband had salmon which was fabulous, and I had a Gyro which was as good as it gets. We will definitely be back for more! We could not have asked for a better experience.

Best Greek around! Excellent food & service with a smile from a family run business. Love the lamb chops and other lamb dishes. Fresh, large salads. All your favorite Greek foods. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Wanted just lamp chops and a salad. No sides. They still wanted to charge me for the salad even though I said forgo the sides. I opted to forgo the dinner

Went last night for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Best Greek food I’ve had outside of Greece(but with better service then you’ll get in Europe). Authentic dishes, with one better than the last. Tried the Greektown sampler, the grouper, saganaki, and baklava. Will definitely come back again.

Usually wait a month for a new restaurant to open before dining there, to give them time to work out all the kinks, which we did with Greektown Taverna. We went at 1 p.m. on a Sunday for lunch, the place was maybe 40% full. This place used to be a Diner, and they did minimal changes to it in making it a Greek restaurant, but have to say, not a fan of the blue painted trim throughout the place. We were seated promptly and they only have tables, no booth options and can accommodate large parties, which is a plus. Waited for a server to come take our drink order, but the owner/manager did instead after welcoming us to the restaurant. And may I say, we had new glasses of iced tea brought to our table without asking during our entire meal — nice touch. Ordered a Lamb Pita which only came with French Fries, so asked about any other option and was told a $ 1.50 upcharge for another side, which seemed exorbitant. Other person ordered the combo of marinated grilled chicken breast and greek salad. The lamb pita was tender, with nice caramelized onions and feta cheese with some lamb juice for dipping. It was good, but lacked much in the way of herbs or seasoning, so a bit boring and the fries were of good quality. The grilled chicken breast was reported to be very tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned and the accompanying greek salad very nice. So for our first visit, would not re-order the lamb pita but definitely the grilled chicken and salads. Personally wanted to get the half roasted chicken, but menu said it took a minimum of 30 minutes, and did not want to wait that long. So will have to ensure enough time for the next visit. Did notice they had plenty of wait staff, not a large crowd of patrons at the time of our lunch, but did not seem to be very efficient or possibly it is the kitchen which has the problem. Many tables that ordered at the same time we did, were just getting their food when we were finishing. The owner came to the tables often, seeing if the food was prepared to our liking and really did a fine job in our opinion. Now just get your kitchen and wait staff in line and you will have a fine restaurant.

Welcome to Ormond Beach! We had heard this place was good… And it was. Four of us dined on a Wednesday night. There was a nice crowd especially since they have not advertised much yet. We ordered the traditional flaming cheese and a pastry wrapped spinach appetizers — both very good. House wines were reasonably priced. For the main course, the four of us had their stuffed chicken breast and lemon potatoes. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. The leg of lamb was juicy as well. Very good version. I had their gyro with a homemade Tzatziki Sauce and it, too was very good. For dessert we had the Baklava — warm and delicious. Service was excellent. Caring, but not overbearing. Prices were very fair and portions ample. We wish them luck. A nice addition to our restaurant scene. Give it a try.
