Always love frozen yogurt and there either aren’t a lot of places around here or I haven’t yet noticed them. I love self serve and adding my own toppings. There were too many kids but I guess what can you expect at a sugar palace?

I rather make the drive to yogurtland. This place lacks the flavors I like, such as, plain tart. What kind of frozen yogurt place doesn’t have plain tart.

Their product does not taste like frozen yogurt. It is overly sweet and none of the typical yogurt flavor comes through. I love frozen yogurt, but after trying this place several times, I’ve given up. I’m not sure where the owner got his mixtures or recipes, but what he’s serving isn’t frozen yogurt. And to address the owner’s reply comment — My review is specifically about your frozen yogurt, not your gelato. I know the difference. I’ve dropped my rating to one star based on the ridiculous reply from the owner. Linda — it sounds like you may want to figure out what frozen yogurt is!

It is the only place in town to get frozen yogurt. We are happy it is really good tasting. The banana flavored is my favorite. It is right by the theater in the Oro Valley Market Place. This is a self-serve place with a large selection of flavors and toppings. When it is cooler weather sitting outside is a wonderful option.

After thinking about my last experience, I’ve decided that we have had WAY too many great experiences to let one not great one ruin a favorite fro yo spot! So here’s my edited/updated review: The owners are both wonderful people who are kind and very gentle hearted, direct does not constitute rude! Get over it folks, not all of us are touchy feely, lovey dovey types of people! I have spoken with both owners together and separately, they’re both great! Believe me I’ve had many conversations with the owners and there are many areas in which we don’t agree and never once has either been anything but kind and accepting of a differing opinion. I find it hard to believe any of these accusations of the owner being gruff or anything less then extremely kind! The products are amazing! Blue Banana to the best if my knowledge only offers Yocream fro yo, it is simply the best around! If you’re stuck on stupid and have to have tart or the same flavor everytime, order some in advance because the flavors are ever changing, which in my opinion keeps this place fresh and hip. As for the gelato, I’m not a fan of gelato in general, but the gelato here is quite good and isn’t nearly as expensive as others in town who think they are serving cups of gold for gelato! I wish these folks nothing but the best! Until you’ve owned a fro yo shop, you’ll NEVER know how truly hard it can be!

Love me some Blue Banana! Not sure where all the negativity is coming from — I’ve been here close to ten times now and only ever been greeted with kindness and smiles. In fact, I’ve witnessed a lot of bad CUSTOMER behavior(i.e. mothers allowing their kids to put their hands in the toppings and spill all over the ground without cleaning it up, impatient people«tailgating» me while I get my fro yo), but all the employees handled it gracefully and professionally. And the fro yo itself is the best I’ve tried in town so far. I tried a place on Thornydale and it was icky — the yogurt was flavorless and watery and the toppings were stale. It’s worth a little longer a drive. The toppings at Blue Nana are always fresh(especially the fruit!) and they always have new flavors to try. As far as fro yo goes, this is always where we go for a cold fix on a hot day!

Not a friendly place, went in for first time just after movie with friends Saturday night. As we were getting ready to order we were told the place was closed and asked to leave. We weren’t the only people there, everyone was just kicked out. Never had that happen at a restaurant before.

Alright, my take on Blue Banana… It is kind of pricey but very yummy. Lots of flavors of pseudo-healthy frozen yogurt and wicked gelato. So it goes like this: walk in, check out the flavors and try the ones you think you will like(note, there are little taster cups for the yogurt that you don’t have to ask for– soooo, don’t feel guilty if you try them all.) then full up your bowl with the flavor(s) you like and head to the topping bar. Great selection of syrups, fresh fruit, crumbled brownies, crumbled candy bars, gummies, chopped nuts, and even boba(if you’re a hipster.) Next, place the bowl of heavenly goodness on the scale. Pay by the ounce(note, I said the tasters are free… You see where I’m going with that.) Sit and consume. There are tables indoors or brave the elements with provided tables outdoors. I have always had young adults tend to me why I pay for my yogurt, they have always been very respectful and helpful. We go to Blue Banana way too much… Life is short! Finally broke down and purchased some gelato… My first time not getting a bowl of frozen yogurt. I’m hooked! The birthday cake flavored gelato is dynamite!

The owner was very rude, when I went there. His machine was broken and he even accused me of being the one that broke it. I am a customer he should have put a sign saying it was out of service. After that when I was looking at flavors he kept glaring and making comments when I was looking at the flavors. Still accusing me of being the one that broke the machine! The way he treats customers I don’t know how he even has any business. There aren’t even that many flavors to choose from. I would still recommend yogurtland or tutti frutti. I would rather drive 30 minutes to get frozen yogurt from people who are friendly and welcoming. Rather than a going to a place where the owner accuses customers for breaking a machine that was already broken, and completely rude! I was very disappointed with the customer service! They need to learn some manners! I will never be coming back here again. This place needs to go out of business!

The owner is not very nice. I called to ask some questions about the shop and he grunted answers at me. During my visit, he stood behind the counter with his arms crossed and glared at customers the whole time without saying anything. We are paying customers, not kids trespassing on your lawn. If you expect us to know things about your shop, like if you carry plain tart(they don’t, or didn’t on the night I was there), put this information on a real website or at least keep your Facebook page updated.

Cool little place. Ice cream places have a hard time in Oro Valley hopefully yogurt and gelatto will do better. They have your standard flavors and then some more exotic flavors. Lots of really cool very fresh mix-ins. Friendly staff. Clean. Nice outdoor seating. Best part is you get to guess your weight after you make your creation. If you guess correctly you get free. Awesome!

With coupon, price was ok. I was a little perturbed by how the«yogurt» tasted. Having tried Yogurtland, Red Mango, and other yogurt places, the yogurt here is much sweeter than what I am used to. There was no tartness that should typically characterize frozen yogurt.

I like Blue Banana Yogurt but the last few times they didn’t have much that I liked, in fact the last time I went I didn’t even buy anything due to flavor selection. This time at least they had cake batter. I think all the yogurt places are WAYOVERPRICED !!! I find it hard to believe that anybody thinks 59 cents a ounce which come out to $ 75.00 a gallon is cheap ??? I sure don’t but I still treat myself occasionally. I do like that they have the little cups to try the different flavors and you can do it yourself. I also like that they have Gelato as well. I’ll be back ;)

Blue Banana brought their yummy gelato to our house with their Gelato Cart. It made our dinner party a huge success. The gelato cart was a big hit, and with all ages! The gelato was delicious and the two young servers did an excellent job of serving plus interacting with all our guests. The Blue Banana gelato cart did what I hoped it would – it put the party over the top. Guests felt like they were at a really special event. I appreciated how owners Rick and Linda Brady were so attentive and made sure that everything went off without a hitch.

Getting here takes a 7 – 10 mile car ride, but it’s worth it! I treat myself after a particularly good few weeks of running and working out. Their yogurt tastes the best of all the FroYo places in Tucson, and I’ve tried them all: BTO, Orange Leaf, Sundaze, Malibu(gross), and Cold Snap(double ew). I still need to try U-Swirl, but so far, this is the best. I like that you can guess the weight and possibly get it for free. The –1 is for price and ambiance. Almost as good as my beloved Yogurtland in Phoenix.

This has become our favorite frozen yogurt place in Tucson, and we’ve tried them all. The flavor and consistency of the yogurt is better than Orange Leaf or BTO. Additionally, the staff at Blue Banana is much more friendly than at those other places, and that’s a big deal for us. I marked them down 1 star because the toppings leave a little to be desired. Honestly, they’re about average as far as fro-yo places go, though. I’ve sampled the gelato, and it’s pretty good. The only problem with it is that it’s not billed by the ounce, and it’s actually quite expensive(I want to say $ 3.50 or $ 3.95 for a small). But, hey — you don’t go to a frozen yogurt place for the gelato, right? If you go, the must-try flavors are: island banana, peppermint, coconut, and peanut butter. The rest of the flavors are good, but these are the real standouts. Unfortunately, the flavors rotate, so sometimes the best ones aren’t available. Keep going back until they have them; you’ll thank me later.
