Really love the atmosphere here and the food options. We frequent the Sunday brunch when we can. The owner is very nice and once sat down with us to talk about craft beer(another reason we like to come). They have a great selection of local beers, craft soda and coffee/espresso etc. the French fries are the best I can seem to find anywhere! My son especially loves them.

Lame-o dogs, stale buns, soggy fries, overcooked tasteless burgers, filthy tables, but a great view from the porch. Why do I keep on going to bad hot dog joints? Are there any good ones in this state?

Okay food, very uncomfortable experiences with the manager/owner. He was berating his employees in front of customers(3 separate occasions while we were there for lunch), and appeared to be flirting with another group of young females. Very, very off putting and creepy. Made me so uncomfortable that I wanted to report his actions to his manager, but a friend informed me that he is the owner. As a long time member of the industry, I know that something wasn’t right there.

Expensive for the food and setting. The owner doesn’t seem to treat his staff very well. They do have nice outdoor seating and it’s clean but sluggish service. They made a big mistake getting rid of buck hunter

Was a regular for about a year until I found out that the owner was charging me and all my friends micro brew prices for bud light. Didn’t find out until I bought a pitcher of the micro brew from one of the workers, that I was being over charged. When they told me the price I asked, «this is the same price as bud light?» The worker replied, «no.» And told me the actual price of bud light(which was significantly less). Haven’t been back since, seeming as the owner is that inconsiderate to valuable and polite customers.

Best onion rings and homemade black bean veggie burgers I’ve ever had. I recommend the Akita on a veggie burger(grilled pineapple ring with a thai coleslaw on a bun.

Coffee was quite good and the owner pretty darn nice to share the voting discount but the Cowboy Up wasn’t as tasty as I expected. The chili was rather bland. However the potatoes were quite yummy. All in all a great smaller business trying to edge up and make a difference locally and promote community activism. Thanks!

Love the family dog for brunch on Sundays or lunch any day. The black bean burgers are close to being the best I’ve ever had. They have a new summer deck menu and the margaritas are fantastic. You really get good quality for a reasonable price here. Ice cream is always a good way to end the meal, too.

Love this place. Excellent burgers and dogs(there are vegetarian options too). They have some very unique and delicious combinations that are always fresh and cooked perfect. They serve Bear Brew beer(local Orono brewery) and is always great. They are currently in the process of constructing a deck which I am very excited about.

Ice cream is really good. Try the tornado(it has different kinds of toppings in it). Is mostly a bar, but just went for the ice cream. They had a giant jar of pickles there, it was interesting.

Had the southwest omelette this morning. It was amazing. Looking forward to my next trip to Orono to eat and possibly drink. The owner is really friendly and a baseball fan.

Was not aware these guys did breakfast, but stopped in today and it was outstanding. For about $ 8 I had a southwestern omelet with real homefries and great toast, my wife had an excellent bacon breakfast quesadilla with homefries for $ 4.50. Great prices and excellent food! My new favorite breakfast place in the Bangor area.

I still think they should carry vegetarian breakfast meat but they guy at the counter said no way thats gross. boo. love it here. Cons: Carry all the vegetarian breakfast meats!!! please. Kinda cold in the morning in here Pro: Price — very reasonable Taste — food is derrrricious good location parking is abundant!

This place is ridiculous cheap, and the food is great. Actually, the first time I came here, I didn’t like it as much — I had a veggie burger, and it was fresh & healthy-ish, but the taste was merely decent. The only reason I went back again was because the food was so cheap, so I figured I’d give it another shot. Then I had the mac and cheese w/carmelized onions, and I was hooked. They have .mac.and.cheese.EVER. I don’t even live in the area, and I can’t wait to go back for more!

Very happy with Family Dog. Great addition to Orono food scene(which is seriously lacking). The last time I had a Chicago dog this good, I was in Chicago(and watching the vender unceremoniously kick a lady out of line for requesting ketchup on her dog). They have a nice beer selection here, a great menu with fair prices, and the place is just, well, nice. Definitely will be returning.

Yummy food, but order ahead of time to avoid a wait. I would rate them higher, but for the fact that they use frozen fries. Cutting potatoes fresh might take time, but I think it would bump the quality way up.

A new hotdog and cheeseburger joint has opened in downtown Orono. I had to check it out, and frankly I was fairly impressed. The restaurant itself was nicely renovated inside. The menu is quite extensive with many specialty burgers, dogs and sandwiches. I ordered a basic cheeseburger and fries. The burger is flame grilled, bun toasted. It was good. My only complaint would be that there was no pickles on the burger, and no pickle spear on the side. I expect to get a pickle spear on the side with a burger like this. I thought the pricing was a little aggressive, although this complaint is minor. Most burgers are about $ 7-$ 8, and do not include fries at this price. I would expect at that price to have them included. Although to add fries and a drink to it was only an additional $ 1.50. My burger, fries and drink came to $ 9.40. I would have liked to see it in the $ 7 – 8 range personally. Specialty dogs are in the $ 3.50-$ 4.50 range, which isn’t bad at all. Overall, good service. Food came pretty quick and the kitchen seemed to be hustling and trying to make orders quickly. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the dogs, perhaps the Mac and Cheese dog. Overall a good place, and a welcome alternative for lunch. They serve beer as well. I almost gave 3 stars for the slightly high prices. Realistically I would rate this place 3 and a half stars. I just noticed their hours are 11am to 10pm Sunday through Wednesday, and 11am to 2 am on Thursday through Saturday! Bonus for staying open late night!
