I miss this place. Fantastic food and service. Sad to see them leave

Checkers has closed. I understand the space is unused.
The buiding is now occupied by The Hof Brau which is OK

I give it 3 stars because of the value. It is a restraunt run by culinary students. They are always friendly and the prices are unbeatable. My grandma LOVES this place, so every time I visit her, we eat here.
The food isn’t terrible. I like the bread and the salads are usually decent. I’ve only been there for lunch, so I can’t speak to dinner, but I always leave feeling full and my wallet isn’t missing too much moola.

I am pleased to see that there is someone who comes before me on this board, because we all know how I hate to be the bearer of bad news.
Checkers is, shall we say… frighteningly dull and unsatisfying. Very unlike a dinner date with Milo J.
However, in it’s defense, it IS a culinary school/​waitstaff training module. So, what can we really expect from it? And it’s in Oroville. Where home-​cooked methamphetamine is the meal of choice. Is that enough said?
I swore to GOD I would never eat in an Olive Garden. And to date, I have yet to. But OG, I think you have met your highly unsavory match. I’m sorry Oroville.
