First off, this was such a beautiful area for a ride! green and peaceful! Secondly, the horses were gentle and VERY well cared for, the owner was super friendly and great with kids(really knew how to make them comfortable and keep them laughing). My kids ages 6 and 8 had SO much fun. He took extra care prior to departing, regarding safety and spent the entire time ensuring we all were having a great time. He even let us stay and brush the horses out(for way longer than he probably wanted to!)…I had to DRAG my kids away so he could load them up. I’m totally embarrassed to admit… I dropped my phone on the trail and we had to go back for it about quarter mile. I felt like a total dufas… but he didn’t make me feel bad about it at all… completely kind and understanding. He told us a lot about horses in general, and we felt we got to really know our horses, which was fun. Halfway through the ride, we worked up to short little jogs on the horses, which my kids thought was the coolest thing ever. My butt hurts now, but it WAS fun. After we left, I realized we got not only the 2 hour trail ride, but also a good extra 2 hours of his time in equine education. Well worth every penny spent. I used a groupon and felt it was one of the best groupons I’ve used yet! I will be going back!

We had a great experience with Lazyt! Todd is a wonderful guide, super personable and kind. He will put you at ease if you are nervous about getting on a horse for the first time. The trail was beautiful(mid March) very lush and green. The horses are well taken care of and you can tell Todd really loves what he does! Highly recommended!

We searched high and low for a reasonably priced horseback ride and when we found a Groupon for Lazy T Trailrides, we decided to make the drive from Sacramento. It was well worth it! We decided to do the evening ride and leading up to the day of the ride, Todd texted us reminders and helpful tips for the day of the ride. It was just two of us plus him for the ride and it was great. He is super thorough on safety instructions and has helmets to wear if you wish(kids required) for extra noggin safety. It was a beautiful ride, with fun terrain, including some small hills and water views. He knows the trails well and was really funny along the way too! We stopped about halfway through the ride, where the horses get a chance to drink, as do we. There are also nice restrooms(the ones at the trailhead are horrible, so plan ahead!) and picnic tables to hang out and relax for a few. As we headed back onto the trail, the sun was starting to set and it was perfect! We still got back before it was completely dark out and Todd let us ride his GIGANTIC horse for a few minutes! It was every minute of two hours on the trail, plus some time when we got back and hanging out with the horses in the lot. I kinda assumed that getting the horses ready would take off a little of the 2 hours, but it sure didn’t. Lazy T Trailrides went above and beyond what we expected. He even texted a thank you a couple days after the ride and said he would give us the same pricing for next time. We will definitely be back again! If you’re looking for a fun day, you’ve found it here, and for a super reasonable price!

We found him through Groupon and could not pass up the deal. We drove all the way from Stockton(2 hours drive) and it was really worth. We had a great moment throughout the trail. We rode horses(for the first time of our life) around Oroville lack during 2 to 3 hours. Todd the owner is really nice and make you enjoy the ride. He is full of anecdotes and know his job. He owns 5 horses, so the trips are really intimate and personalized. The horses are really calm and will make you feel really comfortable even for beginners. We recommend it for everyone who wants to enjoy a nice outdoorsy moment.

The bf and I did this as part of our monthly date night and it was an awesome experience! We were in the Sacramento area and this was only about an hour way but well worth the trip. My bf heard about Lazyt trailrides through Groupon and as I had never been on a horse before and it had been awhile for him, thought it would be something fun to try The owner Todd, got ahold of us beforehand to make sure that we would have appropriate-sized horses and kept in touch until the ride, providing helpful directions and answering any questions we had(dress code, what to bring). The trail ride goes around Lake Oroville, which unfortunately right now due to lack of rain in CA isn’t much of a lake, but there is still lots of nature to enjoy. I was a little nervous about being on a horse for the first time, but Todd made me very comfortable plus the horses were so mellow that I felt completely confident after riding for about 10 minutes. The ride lasted for about three hours and goes at a comfortable pace, giving you time to really enjoy the quiet surroundings and relax. Todd is a very personable guide and you can tell that he is passionate about his horses and what he does. He is also pretty flexible about making the experience your own, whether its bringing a picnic lunch to enjoy with family or having a sunset ride with a glass of wine(glass, not bottle, people, you don’t want to fall off of your horse!) Todd definitely went above and beyond expectations, taking pictures of us throughout the ride and sending us them later that day. He even noticed when I dropped my ring on the ground among the rocks after getting on the horse(which I am so thankful for, I never would have found it otherwise!) At the end of the ride, we were able to thank the horses for all their hard work by getting to feed them some treats although you can also bring along some apples or carrots to give them as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience and plan to go back soon with some friends.

Todd’s horses are nice and friendly and ideal for beginners. The trail he took us on is a dedicated horse trail so you won’t get surprised by mountain bikers. You may, however, get surprised by wild deer ;-) Half way down the trail, we had a 15 – 20 min break where snacks and water was provided. We enjoyed the ride with Todd and his horses and he seems to take good care of them. After the ride, they received Christmas cookies and carrots!
