Raley’s

Amazing customer service. Bakery that can’t be beat and the store is always clean. Always an enjoyable experience when shopping there.

I always get greeted with kind helpful workers. All the departments usually have someone close to help with questions. They are cleaner than the other local grocery stores and have awesome customer service. Their bakery and produce is always fresh and well organized. Prices have come down a little but still higher priced than the other stores. I think it’s worth the extra dollar to get treated with respect. WTG Raleys.

I called the Bakery asking if they carried Eclairs and luckily, yes they do!!! It is not easy to find Eclairs at my regular grocery store. I was able to get the Bakery area and find them near the cakes display. You get a 2 pack for $ 3.99. The lady that rung us up in the Bakery was friendly customer service. I kind of wanted a Peet’s coffee, but changed my mind because it was already evening.
It was good to look around at their Bakery dept and see so many gourmet cheeses and deli foods as well. Their floral dept is so pretty, I always find beautiful Fresh flowers and cool garden décor. I personally think this is the best place to buy Fresh flowers, but Safeway and Food Maxx have pretty flowers too!
Before we left, I grabbed the Something extra magazine. It is still Free, but you have to have them ring it up at the register and type in your phone number! The cashier mentioned I could get two complimentary if I wanted, but I said no thanks, just one is fine. Another thing that is very convenient for me is they have Wells Fargo branch inside with counter service and two ATM’s. I actually come here more for the ATM than to buy groceries.
On a last note, this store is always busy!!! The parking lot is quite dark at night, not enough lights when walking to your car.

I can’t recall when I have witnessed someone in customer service exhibit such a complete lack of awareness of good manners and principles of salesmanship as occurred at the Oroville Raley’s. I will never return. Selection is great, but prices are high and service abysmal.

My family shops here quite often. They have great specialty items that you won’t find anywhere else in Oroville. I’ve always found the employees to be friendly and helpful as well. However, they need to check their salad mixes and produce more often. This is the second time we’ve bought a salad mix there that was almost completely perished even after checking the expiration date. Not to mention this place is very overpriced. But for Oroville, it’s a decent store.

I absolutely love this store! They always have everything I’m looking for and their rewards points really pay off! They also BBQ outside, I haven’t tried that part yet but it smells sooo good!!!
I want to mention that I buy ground beef there as well as all my other meats and groceries and I have never found brown meat, unless it has a sale and use by today label on it!!!
Also I go to the deli 2 x a week for my lunch break at work and ya they are very busy but their sandwiches are awesome and the people are very pleasant!

This review is for their ground beef. Today was the third or fourth time in the last few months that I had purchased 15% lean Angus ground beef and the inside was brownish gray. The outside (top, bottom, and sides) was very bright and fresh looking. It had that layered look… looked like old meat sandwiched between the fresher meat. Today I just had had it with this gross looking surprise tucked neatly into the fresh meat. Went back to the store and spoke with a manager, who was also surprised at the condition of the meat. We both went to the meat dept. and got some far out excuse that it was a chemical thing and they had gotten a notice about it in their dept. He rambled. Needless to say, I was not satisfied with the explanation. I will discontinue buying my hamburger there. I have shopped at that Raley’s for over 30 years and been VERY VERY pleased with it. And did I mention that the hidden brownish layered hamburger was still within the sell by date and $ 6.49 a pound! I hope management checks into this. I know that other shoppers have surely experienced this as well.

From the Bay Area… loving me some Oroville…
Pros: In the midst of the bottom of the Sierra Nevada’s, is an amazing store. Offering very fresh Sushi. Sandwiches off the hook. And a Natural Food Isle. Some of the stuff I can’t find even in the Bay Area.

Clean and well laid out. Staff is friendly and helpful.

I am thankful that Raleys has a great selection of organic food. I find their veggies and fruits to be less money than that Spend & Spend heath food store in Chico.
They also will carry some cool items, though you will have to pay buccu bucks for them.
Last Friday I picked up some Icelandic yogurt made from grassfed pastured cow’s milk. It was wonderful, but 5.99: ouch. I did though use about half of it as a mother culture for homemade raw milk yogurt. It came out great!
My main gripe with the store is the deli section. Why do they not have more people on staff since there is always a long line? Time is money, and money is time… and I do not have patience to wait, so I leave. I imagine they loose a lot of revenue from would be customers that simply do not have the time to wait!
Oh well… I still keep it at 4 stars because of the Organic produce and organic Chicken.

Bad management, especially store director. Makes excuses and doesn’t tell the truth. Hard to ever find the same product twice. Pushing store brands at the expense of good quality brands.

I hate the way the store is planned out produce in the middle makes no sense. Also Raleys organic section is TINY! It’s an ok store though.

Large clean grocery store. Maybe not the type of place to go if your looking for a bargain but everything is clean and well laid out. They have a deli, pharmacy and bank located inside.
