Awesome service and delicious food with big portions and resonably priced! Lots of cool biker stuff but you don’t have to be a biker to enjoy it !

We stopped here on our way back from Oakland Family Camp near Quincy. It really hit the spot and we were so glad we found it. We had stopped at another establishment a way back on the road and sat for about 20 minutes without having our order taken. We got up and left and had a snack in our car instead. Needless to say, by the time we saw Scooter’s, we were so hungry. Our order was taken immediately and I think we had our food within 10 minutes, maybe even 5. I love that they have chalk out, my daughter created a little masterpiece outside before we took off. If you have complaints about the service, it’s probably because you were being a jerk. These folks treat their customers right that treat them right. They were seriously rad and you can tell this place is a home away from home. Our food was good and they made sure we were happy. The only place that I thought there was room for improvement was using better cheese on my daughter’s grilled cheese sandwich. Not only would I go back, but I would make plans around going back if I were back in that area.

I’ve had occasion to make the trek to Quincy several times lately due to business at the county of Plumas. The first 3 times I saw this place and was totally intrigued, but couldn’t stop, I was in a hurry. Ok… on the way home, 4th fly by and that’s it. I couldn’t wait to stop and check it out. It looked like such a fun place. Unfortunately, I wasn’t all that hungry. I thought I’d just get a snack, but I really wanted to find out if the food was good. I ended up ordering a grilled ham and cheese w/fries. I was a bit disappointed that my appetite couldn’t handle a burger or something as I thought the grilled ham sandwich probably would be pretty standard fare and not really a good chance to really try the place out. I have to say… wow…the ham and cheese was anything but average or standard. I was blown away. Yes, there was the standard thin slice of lunch meat ham on grilled sourdough with some cheddar… however…in addition to the thin slice of ham was also a large amount of thickly cut«carving board» style ham… you know… like the awesome Easter ham… the best part of the ham… ya…like that. The ham had amazing flavor and there was so much I had a hard time holding the sandwich together… Yum! The fries were good, but just a little disappointing. They are hand cut and not frozen… yum…however, mine tasted like they sat for just a little while. They weren’t old, but also weren’t perfect crispy piping hot right out of the fryer either. I could tell if they were just a few minutes fresher they would have been amazing. But they were still really good. AND… there were an absolute ton of them… way more than I could eat. The décor is super fun here. Raider memorabilia, biker signs and fun stickers all over the place. I used the bathroom while I was there. Now, the bathroom was dirty… looked like the toilet and sink hadn’t been cleaned in some time… and I’m very particular about bathrooms… however, I have to say the walls decorated in all kinds of super fun and interesting stickers and magazine articles… well…almost made me want to totally forgive the dirty sink and toilet… and that’s saying a lot for me. Girl at the counter was very friendly and accommodating… she made sure I grabbed some paper towels for my to go order & that I had ketchup Price…well, expensive…$ 10 for my grilled ham and cheese and fries… but…1st…it wasn’t your ordinary ham and cheese… so…I didn’t mind…2nd…everything is more expensive in the harder to reach areas… so I expect it. I’m super sad that I have no business in Quincy again in the foreseeable future. I would love to try out many other menu items. Wish I lived closer cause this place looks like it would be really fun to come hang out at when they have live music and the mountain atmosphere and outdoor seating at sunset makes a wonderful hang out for an evening… maybe someday!

I’ve eaten at Scooter’s which is located on Hwy 70 in Jarbo Gap, CA many times. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is homemade, it’s always excellent. Dan serves prime rib on Friday, SPECTACULAR, the burgers, sandwiches, salads, omelettes, etc, all amazing!!! We love, love, love Bonnie’s sweet tea :) or when in the mood, a cold bottle of beer. Ahhhhhh, so relax, take in the laid back friendly atmosphere. Oh and enjoy the live music on weekends. It’s the perfect beginningnor end to a trip through Feather River Canyon which by the way is amazingly beautiful.

The foulest place on earth. It took an hour to get our food. The burger was over cooked to bloody hell and pitched on a stale bun. The fries were old. Should really rename the place«crap weasels»

If you’re hungry, do NOT stop here. They take forever to get the food out. We ordered two of the same burgers and it has been 40 minutes… WEARESTILLWAITINGFOROURFOOD. The waitress/cashier wasn’t even apologetic. It takes A LOT for us to write a negative review on a restaurant… in fact, this is probably the first negative food review I have written. When you see this place on your way to or from where you’re going, just keep driving.

called 2 weeks ahead of going there. told them that there would be 15 to 18 people and could they handle us. reply YES. then on sunday called @ 10 am and told them we were on our way. again 15 to 18 of us. would be there around noon, arrived @ 11:50, ordered and then @ 1:45 I went and asked where my food was. reply after she went looking and then said there is 3 ahead of you so about 15 to 20 min. more. I asked for my money back. after 1 hour and 45 min. and still no food. I was not sure why I should have to wait over 2 hours for a hamburger. other in the group waiter over 1 hr. for there food and said the hamburgers were dry and at the best average. if you only have 2 in your party the is o.k. might try micky ds it about the same but cheaper. they have been taken off our go to list.

As an update, despite Valerie’s rude behavior, Scooter’s did finally credit me back. As fair warning, locals said this sort of issue has happened before and is usual behavior for this restaurant. If you do choose to try this place, I would highly recommend not using a card, pay cash. They can ‘t double bill cash.

My husband was working in the neighborhood and his boss took him to Scooters, he came home & took me all the way back a few days later because he said it was amazing. He was RIGHT! We had the pastrami sandwich, best either one of ya has ever had, battered deep fried mushrooms & zucchini followed suit being the best ever! The ladies inside were absolutely wonderful and I loved all the décor. It was really a pleasant surprise. After reading the reviews I know we will be back to try the fat boy burger as soon as we can. Can’t wait, my tummy is hungry just thinking about it the drive was pretty and peaceful too.

Scooters is a legend in the hills. Jarbo Gap to be exact. Home of the«Fat Boy» burger. Service is polite, friendly, and prompt. The food is always delicious. They close down during the Winter months, so you’ll have to go without for a little while. They have beer and outdoor seating. This place is a gem if you feel like getting away from all the noise in town. Be sure to place your order before you sit down and they will bring out some good home cooked eats right to your table. If you don’t like Scooters, you’re probably a yuppie.

Scooters Café is the kind of place you drive by time and again on the way to your destination. «Next time» you say… or…“I can’t stop now, I’m making good time dammit!”. I know because my wife and I have said these on more than one occasion while making the trip from Lincoln to Lake Almanor. Well, lucky for us we ran out of excuses. We pull in with large appetites and low expectations. The place itself isn’t much to look at but it’s comfortable and clean inside. I noticed the Oakland Raider memorabilia adorning the walls and immediately the place went up by one star in my book! The server who greeted us was very friendly and took the time to answer all of our questions. We mentioned that this was our first visit and that we were both STARVING!!! She recommended the FatBoy and said that if we didn’t love it she would have the cook make us something else. My wife and I both ordered one with me getting the fries and she getting the homemade ‘tater’ salad. We ordered the local beer on tap and the server said that it was the same price for half a pitcher but we got the equivalent of 3 beers instead of 2. We took her up on that and carried our beer to a table outside. Less than 10 minutes later she arrives carrying the biggest burgers I’ve seen in a while. These babies are ½ lb each and are served on hoagie rolls instead of regular hamburger buns. One look at the burgers and you can tell immediately that are NOT frozen patties. The beef looked amazingly fresh and the juices were oozing down the side of the roll. The sauteed mushrooms were also fresh and the grilled onions were cooked to perfection. One bite in and I was hooked! My first thought was ‘oh my God… this is one of the best burgers I’ve had in my friggin’ life’!! The very next thought was ‘holy crap… whey the hell haven’t I stopped here before”??? I look over at my wife and her face says it all… she’s diggin’ her burger as much as I am. We finally but the burgers down to try the fried and ‘tater salad. Again… OMFG!!! The fries are hand cut… just like the ones at In & Out… only these are 100 times better. Each fry was perfectly cooked… crispy and golden on the outside and fluffy on the inside. My wife is NOT a big fry lover and she couldn’t get enough of them. Seriously… THE best fries either of us have ever tasted. We then tried her ‘tater salad and it too was amazing! Great flavor, the potatoes were perfectly cooked and again, you could taste the freshness. We both shook our heads in amazement. I little while later the cook(who we found out is also the owner) came out to check on us and ask if we were enjoying the food. He’s the Raider fan so we ended up talking Raiders for about 5 – 10 minutes. Before heading back inside he said«we have a saying here… instead of see ya later we say see ya Raider». I loved it. I gave Scooters 5 stars and would give it more if there were an option. The food we had was incredible; fresh, flavorful and fantastic. Do yourselves a favor next time you find yourselves driving by… turn in!!!

I’d like to start my review with the simple yet important fact that SCOOTERSCAFEISNOT A BIKERBAR. Hence the *café*. Yes, the biker community is welcomed and the CAFE is decorated with Harley Davidson memorabilia(and funny bumper stickers, posters, etc). HOWEVER, they serve diner food along with their specialty Fatboy(which is a must have), and they serve Beer and Wine. They do NOT have a full bar. The owners and staff are friendly and the food is good with more than fair portions. If you’re ever going hwy 70, I suggest you stop by. Fridays they have prime rib and live music!

We were visiting family in Chico, and rode the bikes there. Great pastramie, tuna salad and home made fries. It was a wonderful biker oasis on a 108 degree day.

I have been hearing commercials in Chico for this place for about a month now, and when I had to drive to Quincy, California recently, I thought I would give it a try on my way back home. This is not a warm and fuzzy mom and pop place. You do not get the feel of waling into your grandmother’s kitchen when you pull up. You know you are in a «biker bar» when you walk through the front door. My first impression was an older gentleman sitting at a center table loudly throwing out colorful language about the federal government and the sitting president. This did not bother me, but it set the tone for my experience. The waitress was very nice, and the place was clean but cold. Granted it was 32 degrees outside and snowing, but inside it was still pretty cold. The commercial bragged about a pastrami sandwich, so I gave it a try. When it arrived, it was served hot off the skillet with cheese and grilled onions on a roll. It had a side of coleslaw that was freshly made. I asked for a side of thousand island dressing because that is the way I eat pastrami. Both the sandwich and slaw were really good. The sandwich was not greasy, but it was moist and full of flavor. The grilled onions added a little something else to the sandwich. The slaw was a mayo based slaw, but not drowned in mayo. Nicely done. It had nice thick cut cabbage. Overall the menu looked good, and I would like to try a few other things on it. I had to use the bathroom, which is located outside. By the time I had to go, the snow had turned to a determined downpour of icy rain and sleet. The trek to the bathroom is out the front door and around the back. After I blazed a trail to the potty, and took care of business, I went to wash my hands and found that there is only cold water at the sink. It made the experience a little more chilly. I am giving it three stars for the cold interior, the cold water in the bathroom. The colorful character in the center table was just gravy on the entire experience, and did not influence my rating. Overall, this was a neat place. I would like to see it during the spring and eat lunch on the patio. I would go back.

One of the best pastrami sandwiches I have ever had! Kinda a funky biker look, some spiders and spiderwebs, but the food far out weighed the yuck. The 1st review makes me scratch my head… they give it two stars and write a four star review. Hmmm. Anyways, stop by here for a change of pace with some down right tasty food!

So I m not sure why lindsey only gave this place 2 stars after a fairly favorable review but… anyway I m a yankee hill local and stop by here pretty often when they re open. between like march and october I think it is(wish it was all year) Anyway the food for what it is(a greasy spoon type diner) is great, just about everything I ve had here has that homemade moms kitchen feel, and the staff are mostly very friendly personable folks whether or not your a biker type as I m definitely not. My personal favs here are the breakfast burrito(best I ever had, and must weigh about 2 pounds), the tacos, and the hot pastrami. The prices are a tad higher than you d pay down the hill in chico but I figure thats the luxury of eating out in the boonies, overall worth stopping by if your in the area and hungry. I would knock them off half a point for being closed 4 months out of the year but since I cant and assume its a financial thing due to lack of business in winter i m gonna give the benefit of the doubt.

This place is in the absolute middle of nowhere– which is the perfect place to put a restaurant catering to bikers. Yeah, I’m talking Harley lovers– memorabilia all over the walls, pictures and tributes to bikers– this place has a dedicated clientele. You walk in the front door and it’s obvious this place never has to fight for business– locals and folks on their way through are attracted to the loads of parking, free clean bathrooms, souvenirs for sale, and decent American food menu. The food was pretty greasy, but the portions were generous and reasonably priced. The service was personable, and the food came out so fast we’d barely picked our booths. Anyway, this is a great place to find yourself if you happen to be hungry on Highway 70 any day of the week. Don’t worry– if you’re not on a bike, you’re still welcome– everyone’s friendly.
