Nice place with open air bar area outdoors. Good service and tasty food. Definitely give the Cod Father Sandwich a try when there!

Waiter was awesome Food not so much. I ordered the special Prime Rib medium! well and got very well! Also took forever due to the overcooking I guess. Also, no broccoli on my plate as promised in the description.
Too bad we love eating by the water!

Not happy with the service. Sandwich was dry. Haven’t been there for about 6 years. We had bad service then. Wanted try to them again because of the outside bar. Will not be back. Not sure how they stay so busy with the reviews I’ve read.
For any restaurant listening. My husband and I are always looking for restaurants with patios without busy road views. I am very disappointed we won’t be visiting this place again.

Been coming here for years and have never been disappointed with food or the service. Now that I only live about ten miles away it will definitely be a trip more often, especially for bike nights. Awesome atmosphere especially outside during summer. You can sit outside and relax. They have bands play from time to time and even have radio stations do their shows there from time to time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Good bar food… service can be up or down. lots of TVS. outside tiki bar rocks on a summer night but you need to arrive early to get a spot.

Could be my mistake, this time I sat at the bar. Service left much to be desired. Food is comparable to coney quality AT BEST. I think this place gains it popularity simply due to the fact that there are few places in Ortonville with a «theme» or a beer list that stems beyond Budweiser products. Could just be due to size and location. Wish it were better as I love very close and love to dine out. Your money and time are FAR better spent south in Clarkston or north in Davison. Unless you just want to get wasted, then I’d say this is just the spot.

During a recent visit to this restaurant, my son ordered a strawberry milkshake. The waitress delivered it to the table. After my son had already consumed about ¼ of the milkshake the manager approached our table and stated that he needed to confiscate my son’s milkshake because it was made with alcohol. I was absolutely appalled. The manager stated that he knew they could lose their license and be shut down for the error. I asked to speak with the owners. He informed me they were in the restaurant, drinking themselves, and that it would not be a good time to talk with them. I left my name and number for an owner to call. The manager gave us the name of bartender which he wrote on the receipt. They gave us a gift card. Owners never called. When I called them back, he was highly combative, made tons of excuses, accepting ZERO responsibility. He kept asking me what I wanted, my response, assurance that this won’t happen to anyone else’s child in the future. Owner called me back after apparently conducting an investigation, and stated they looked at video footage and it never happened. I asked if I could see the footage to put my mind at ease. He said no, that he himself never saw the footage, but trusted the bartender’s word that served the alcoholic beverage to our son that she claims having watched herself and deemed herself innocent. What a terrible job done by owners who clearly do not take responsibility for their actions and errors of their employees. Mistakes happen, take responsibility for your mistakes and establish a protocol to make sure the same mistake does not happen in the future!

We have been going to Bullfrogs for years. Good food and good prices. Sometimes there is a wait to get a table, but that is expected for a good restaurant.
After the way we were treated this weekend, we won’t be returning. We arrived just before 8 pm on a Saturday night. The parking lot was fairly full, but not packed. We went in and waited for the hostess to come. We saw two other groups waiting for a table. The hostess finally came to the hostess stand after five minutes. We were shocked that they were gone for so long since there is almost always someone there when you walk in.
We told the hostess we needed a table for three. Her response was «Well, we are really busy right now». I told her that was ok, we would wait. She said «The kitchen is really busy right now». I again told her we don’t mind waiting and asked how long the wait would be. She didn’t ask for a name and simply said «The kitchen is really backed up, so I won’t be able to seat you». I asked if she was telling me that they wouldn’t be taking anyone else that evening and she said «yes». WHAT??? Turning people away at 8 pm on a Saturday night. I have gone to Bullfrogs when there were ten or more groups waiting for a table. There were only two groups in front of us.
She was not kidding. She literally turned us away. As we were walking through the parking lot to go to our car, the other two groups who had already been waiting came out obviously very upset. She must have told them to leave as well. I wanted to ask them what happened, but my wife told me not to bother them and we would just go somewhere else.
After being treated like that, I can’t imagine ever returning. Even if they were really busy, it was ridiculous how we were treated. At a minimum they should have apologized for how busy they were and warned us that the wait could be over an hour, but to turn away customers when so few people were waiting and they weren’t closing anytime soon just so the kitchen could catch up is really bad business.

I just moved to ortonville & I heard this was the «poppin place» to go. The food was decent me and my sister ordered perch and fries with Caesar salad. The Cesar salad was delicious along with the perch. I ordered a blue margarita it was decent. The waitstaff was TERRIBLE. Our waitress only showed up twice. We didn’t receive the salad until after our meal. My sister ordered another lemonade & they never returned with it. When we finished the meal we sat 5 –10 minutes waiting for a waitress to come around to request a bill. I am not one to complain but like I said food was great the service could use some work or change in staff.

I had a late lunch here and enjoyed a beer and burger. Both were acceptable in quality and quantity. But neither was a standout. This is a great local sports bar run by a local family. I would say a great gathering place but not for a gourmand.

Scenic location. Fair service. I hope they will improve their food. Frozen fish then dipped in fried batter for a Cod sandwich did not taste good. If you are on a night out for drinks, this will be a good place. Better eat somewhere else first.

Absolutely nothing special about this place. Middle of the road Bar/​restaurant that is just plugging in the same old boring frozen ingredients that the food vendors sell to them. I wish it were better, the location could thrive with great restaurants given the right people.

We have been coming to Bullfrogs on and off for many years and now that they have the Mexican pizza on the menu again we have been coming here more regularly because my husband loves it. We will not be going back. Last time I was here I ordered the prime rib special. They advertised the steak with a soup potato and vegetable. Only got the steak and vegetable but they wouldn’t take anything off the bill. Today we came and ordered nachos and Mexican pizza and watched it sit on the counter for 15 minutes before it was served hoping that it wasn’t ours. Even if they would have had the hot lamp on it might have still been warm but they didn’t and they refused to compensate us for it so we’re done.

Pretty sure they put ketchup in their sriracha and there’s more lettuce on their nachos than taco salad. Salsa is pretty blandy. Patio is nice tho.

Bike Night on Mondays — specials abound. We rode up on a nice weeknight and sat on the patio. I did call ahead and made a reservation for us but the staff seemed a little disjointed as to reservations and seating people. We hit the jackpot with our server, Cody. He was quick, attentive and engaging.
I had the steak and shrimp fajitas and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. The soup was great. The fajitas were grilled in butter, so not as healthy as I was hoping, but it was good. I ate off the top anyway and the shrimps were cooked perfectly. The steak was nicely seasoned, good cut pieces and didn’t fight back when chewing it. Bonus! Nice sides and all for a good price.
My hubs had a taco salad. It was a bit spicy but just what he wanted. Ground beef and very large.
We enjoyed a couple of the drink specials and the view from our seats. Lots of screens to watch a game or fight. Great place to watch a fight and meet with a group of friends.
We tried the Frog Ears for dessert. They were described to us as Beignets with caramel sauce and ice cream. They were more like dense pretzel dough balls, fried and rolled in sugar and cinnamon. The insides weren’t really cooked all the way but what was, was good — just not what I wanted. Large dish — enough to share.

I love bullfrogs, it’s a great sports bar with lots of TV’s to catch the action & awesome food! Try the fried pickles or steak bites appetizers. Head there in the summer time to hang out by the tiki bar and lake.

Never have I ever been disappointed at Bullfrogs. The pizza is always excellent, I suggest the BBQ chicken, and no other place around can come close to the fried pickles or steak tips at Bullfrogs. Go in the summer time and sit out on the patio, totally worth it!

Nice bar and lots of tv’s to watch the game at but not for a family night out very loud and hard to hear the other person ur with talk. Food is at best ok. Can’t say i will be back any time soon.

One of my cousin’s daughters died and me and my sister went to the funeral, which was kinda up north. On the way back we saw Bullfrogs and decided to stop. It looked like a fun place to go to especially when the weather breaks. Right now it is all snow outside and brown trees — ugh. But, there is a tiki bar outside and when you look out off the porch there is a lake, so I am sure that it is a beautiful place in the summer.
Food was good, wine was good, and company was great. Too bad we had to go to a funeral to find this place! Probably I will not be going back because it is out of the way, but if I am in this area, especially in the summer, I definitely would go back.
Great sports bar — many many televisions. Sounds like a good place to go for Super Bowl Sunday!!!
