This place really needs to get it together. Way under staffed with very little wait staff that speak English. Which makes it really hard to order when they have no idea what you are saying. So therefore the service was not good. The menu is way too big, and the food is mediocre. The margaritas have no alcohol in them at all. I drank 4 and didn’t even feel a thing. I do not recommend this restaurant!

Was there on 11÷8÷15. Burritos were very good. The margarita was average. Chips, guacamole, and salsa all very good. Service very good. Overall a very nice time.

Very large selection of items… overwhelming frankly. Service was incredibly slow with perhaps 3 wait staff covering the entire restaurant including the bar. As afar as the food itself, it was a generic representation of Tex-Mex fare. Would I go back, yes. Would it be first choice for Mexican food at the lake? No…

Just had two entrées and 4 Dos Equis for $ 17.16 after tax. Excellent service. Great restaurant. Sleeves optional.

We had bad experiences in this restaurant. Always understaff. Our last visit was last week. We came around 4pm, the oddest time to have dinner. The place was empty, so we thought the food should come out fast. It came out about 20 mins later. We ordered a big meal that was supposed to have chorizo, chicken, beef, shrimps, and pork steaks; all in one big hotplate. I think it was Faja Guanajuato. That meal was $ 16.99. When the food came out, I was a little suspicious because of the lack amount of food that was supposed to be on that sizzling hotplate. So I grabbed the menu and read the description again. It’s missing 2 slices of beef(shown 4 pieces on menu picture) and 2 pieces of pork steaks! We called the waiter, Jorge, and asked about the missing items. He finally confessed that they couldn’t cook the pork steak because they had a late delivery supply that morning. Come on, why couldn’t he be honest to us when he delivered the food to our table?! He thought he could get away by being dishonest had we not double checked the menu?! So he said he would give some discount in our check when we’re done eating. So after we’re ready to get our check, Jorge gave us $ 1 off only, for being dishonest to us and missing the pork steaks? I was pissed and told the cashier about our disatisfaction. The cashier told us he was going to give us some discount, but did not! Because he already run my credit card. I didn’t want to deal with them anymore, so I just walked away without waiting for him trying to get some $ 1 bill to be returned to me. I will not come back and they’re loosing one good customer. Try El Carporal in Camdenton. They’re far way better in quality, price, and service!

Large menu. Food is okay but not too appetizing in appearance. Went there for lunch so might have a different experience at dinner. Might give it another try.

Not bad. I had some chiles rellenos, and a taco(inadvertently – asked for a chalupa, but, whatever), and beans. Tasted some of the chicken-shrimp-cheese dish(forget the name), also not bad. Chips, salsa, usual stuff. Only place I’ve been at the Lake, not sure how it compares.

Good food, good service, easy to find, good parking, good prices,… Guess you can say it’s a good place to eat! I generally go there for lunch, it’s not too busy and the service is fast. The chips are the thicker kind, not my favorite, but that’s OK. Good salsa and guacamole! The Margaritas are very good. Outdoor seating is great when the weather permits.

Not a fan of this restaurant. The food was just ok but the margaritas were fantastic.

Muy delicioso! We were seated by a cheerful hostess and greeted immediately by our server, Jorje. My husband and I each ordered a house Margarita on the rocks with salt. It was good. I’m a bit of a Margarita snob … Love the ones I make at home the best. So, this was ok. We both ordered the Pescado Mexicano. Oh My! This was a tilapia lightly breaded and broiled served with grilled onions and peppers, guacamole, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, and rice. It was so delicious! Just like dishes we’ve enjoyed in Mexico! We were stuffed! With the warm, crunchy chips and salsa and the ample portions, we had more than plenty to eat. It was a very tasty palate pleasing experience and Jorge was a friendly server.

The food was ok, but it took forever to get waited on. Do not visit if you are in a hurry. Please hire more staff.

When this restaurant opened a couple of years ago, it had some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever tasted. NOMORE. We had dinner a couple of days ago, and both the food and the service were terrible. We were greeted by a young boy that appeared to be about 18. His one word greeting was«Two», I assume referring to the number of guests. When we said yes, he grabbed two menus, turned his back walked across the room and threw the two menus down on the table and walked off. Without saying another word. Our waiter was marginally more verbal. When the food came, it was terrible. It tasted like the only spice in the kitchen was salt. I don’t know what changed, but it seems that whoever use to care about how this restaurant operated isn’t overseeing the operations any longer.

Stopped in on a rainy Thursday afternoon. I thought my entrée of enchiladas verde was very good, it was two cheese enchiladas topped with pork carnita meat and salsa verde, came with rice and beans. I really enjoyed my meal. The chips and salsa we adequate nothing special about the chips themselves, the salsa had a nice flavor but was totally puréed which just is not my personal favorite. I had a regular margarita which was tasty but I’m sure just a generic mix of some sort. My wait or was quick and relatively efficient though not super friends and never brought the water I asked for… Still had a margarita so what the hey lol. Over all I will go back bc I enjoyed the food but there is a little room for improvement. Slightly difficult to get to with the new road depending on which way you come you may have to turn Into Walmart and come around that way.

No idea what everyone is talking about. I went to school in San Diego for 4 years so I’m darn picky about my Mexican food. Ground beef = not Mexican for me. Anyways this place is awesome. Great service, great food, and great chips and salsa. Went to vista monte or wherever the other day man that place sucks compared to this This place is actually next to wal mart do not follow Google directions off of Unilocal

HORRIBLESERVICE. We watched our waiter eat at the bar, watching TV and BS ing with the bartender(manager) We sat there without getting waited on for over 15 minutes, Had enough and walked out. The waiter did not respond and kept shovling the food down his throat. GOELSEWHERE. We heard bad things about this place and they must be right

Slow service(less than 15 tables active), mediocre chips and cheese, food didn’t come out at the same time(only 2 people), my enchiladas were cold. Overall, OK, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

It’s Mexican food in MO. Meaning, it was GREAT to find non-greasy non-taco bell-y food in Missouri, where Grandma, guns and bibles abound. I don’t mean that in a bad way, it was just what my car mate and I talked about for the 2.5 hour drive from the airport. We did have to stop and snack up on pork rinds and other delights. SO…nothing spectacular in terms of style, and that’s just fine. The service was great and the food came out hot and in abundance. Spicy is just so-so, be forewarned if you are the aficionado of the cayenne or serrano pepper.

Great fun place. We didnt expect to like the food and the ambience that much. Chips and salsa were good and they refilled promptly. The shrimp chimichanga was awesome and the entrees were pretty well proportioned. Wife was eating mexican for the first time and she loved it.

So we went here expecting something straight up Americanized, but the Latinas were pleasantly surprised when I asked for chorizo & queso even though I didn’t see it on the menu. Jorge aka George hooked us up! It was really great, very authentic and hell yah yummy. I had the salsa verde cheese enchiladas with carnitas(pork), and the others had a carne asada burrito and tacos. Both the pork and carne asada(beef) were what we would consider authentic Mexican. We adamantly think the food is awesome here. Must admit I was worried about the service when we walked in but it got better once we introduced ourselves to Jorge and said get on it! LOL Will definitely go back to drink and eat chorizo and dinner!

clever name refers to the Lake(the Blue Pool). Standard chips and salsa. The hotter salsa was pleasantly spicy but not scorching. The margaritas were good. I had the Molcajete de Camaron(Shrimp with sauce, peppers, and onions served in a lava bowl {molcajete}). very flavorful. great sauce. abundant. My dining partner had #13 combo(chili rellano, enchilada and burrito). The chili rellano was very good and the other two had the same stuffing so as to be indistinguishable but still good. Service was fine. food came in a timely manner. I would dine their again.
