I am rating my visit as a professional, at LR to share novel clinical information with LR staff. I encountered kind, helpful & polite staff from the minute I arrived, & throughout the day. I have been to 100+ hospitals in the tri– state area, & the LR staff were among the friendliest. Even a surgeon, stopped to answer my question & even escorted me to the correct office. Very Impressed w the kind staff! What a great first impression.

Horrible horrible. The people I talked with were so rude and unprofessional. I would recommend people stay away from here!

This hospital should not be in business at all. They front desk don’t know jack shit about anything going on in the back and are to lazy to check. My wife had a seizure and we took her in. They released to us only to find out she went to sleep and would not wake up while we were at home. why would you release someone if they are not better. So we took her back and they airlifted her to the Missouri university hospital(waayyy better hospital), because they are to stupid to figure the problem out themselves. Not to mention an airlift does not come cheap.

I wish I could give this hospital a negative 5. My mother passed away recently in this poor excuse for a hospital. When I arrived I couldn’t believe the state my mother was in. How could she be alive and talking before surgery and the next minute in some sleep induced state because they felt she needed to be that way. My mother lay dying in their«hospital» for days while the doctor only came in once a day to see her(and she was a cardiac patient!) and the nurses kept saying things like«we’re keeping her comfortable» as if to say there’s no hope so we’ll just make sure her last days are comfortable — HOWABOUTTRYINGTOSAVEHERLIFE!!!. WE, MY family were asking questions, looking up solutions like heart pumps, etc. and none of these people seemed to care to try and save MY mother’s life. All they kept doing was giving her pain medication and keeping her in this induced sleeping state and I never got a change to see her eyes open or hear her speak — she was like this for days!!! They are not equipped to take care of any serious situation, I swear this place was more like a local clinic than an actual hospital that was ready to take care of a heart patient. They’re incompetent!!! As I sat in the room with my mom one of the nurses STEPPED on my mothers cords which was hooked up to the heart pump and before I could say anything the machine started making a weird sound as if to indicate that something was wrong… my mother was on the way to recovery and every moment was critical and this so called nurse could have very well set her back and immediately when someone came in to assist this nurse and try to find out what happened I said that THAT nurse stepped on the cords but they ignored me — and I asked about the cords and was told that you must be very careful around those, I told my step father and family and after that my mothers condition got worse when it was improving beforehand. We wanted to move her to another place, a real hospital, but she died before we could try. I lost my mother and I feel that had she been in another more experienced environment she would still be alive. The doctor and one of the nurses was cold, and seemed to not care. All they wanted was the bed to be empty. It makes me sick that my mother died in that place. My mom hasn’t been in the hospital for a while, but it was not as serious as the heart surgery — and she was at a REAL hospital where doctors/nurses where watching her around the clock. There she was after heart surgery and all she got was a one visit from a doctor who was as cold as ice. Most of them there seemed really uncaring and cold. They didn’t FIGHT to keep her alive, just to run up the bill. Makes me sick to my stomach. Read this: Patient Safety Ratings for Lake Regional Health System They scored poorly on the areas where my mom had the same condition such as Respiratory failure following surgery and they got a poor rating for this — Death following a serious complication after surgery. We were not familiar with the hospital and the patients were saying its a great hospital. Everything happened so fast, and before we knew it our mother was dead. she would be alive today had she been at another hospital — like the one she was at before called Columbia hospital. How can Lake Regional Heath system be called a hospital??? DONOTSENDYOURLOVEDONESHERE. TRANSFERTHEMTOANOTHERMOREEXPERIENCEDHOSPITALLIKECOLUMBIA. If they have a serious surgery more than likely they have less of a chance of surviving and leaving alive if you take them to Lake Regional Health System.
