We had such a fun time on this trip. Rubarb days was going in full force, so they were selling rubarb pie slices in the concessions car! Yum! So nostaligic to see the different eras of train cars; the mail car caboose is a little museum of mail delivery history. The staff was great! We had fun riding along and looking out the windows at the beautiful senery; saw a bald eagle and a few deer.

I took this train ride some years ago with my family and had a wonderful time. Now I am looking forward to riding with my children and their children. It is such a good experience. Love Grandpa

On a lazy Saturday afternoon Hubby and I decided to check out this Train ride that takes off from Osceola, WI. The train ride was ok. I think it would be a fun activity for people with children or nieces/nephews visiting. The views from the train were blocked by trees, bushes ect. so there wasn’t a ton of opportunity to view the St. Croix river. I am not saying you couldn’t see the river but it was blocked. The seats in the cars were uncomfortable. The bench seats were facing each other and there was about a foot of room between them so I can’t imagine what it would be like if there were two people in eat seat facing each other. No leg room at all! There was an air conditioned car with tables and chairs which we moved to later which was more comfortable. The train employees were very knowledgeable and friendly. I guess they have a fall leaf color tour and there was also an option to get off at William O’brien state park so if you are camping at that location it might be fun to take the train ride.
