I’ve been to Mexican restaurants all over the US but there is just something about Mi Ran that can’t be beat.

I am not sure why people think you throw a bit of rice and re-fried beans on a plate and it becomes a delicious Mexican meal.
Almost every dish here tastes the same. It has relatively bland flavor and is highly greasy. (as evidence by the multiple grease fires in the restaurant).
I am not a fan of smothering food in fake cheese to hide everything else.
The drinks are relatively good and inexpensive, but I would happily pay more to have a real glass as opposed to plastic.
Sorry, but I typically only eat here if with a large group that is determined to make this the meeting place.

Pretty bland food, typical in Iowa. Tried many things here, usually the same. The service is nice and friendly. They have an upstairs and downstairs, that is a nice feature. Just wish the food was better tasting. I think they make the food taste as good as they can get away with. Pretty basic stuff, don’t come expecting anything to blow you away here.

For Oskaloosa IA, this is the best Mexican restaurant. Billy L. was the best waiter too!!! They serve plenty of meat with each dish, salsa recipe is flavorful, & the chips are warm and thin!

I kind of hate giving this place just one star because they do have a friendly and attentive staff, well, outside of the cooks. It is hands down the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. Absolutely no thought goes into the preparation of their dishes. If I were from Mexico, I would be pissed at these guys for disgracing my country’s cuisine.
Even the margaritas are bad.
