James is fantastic! I recently hired him for a painting project and I could not be more pleased. He is punctual, professional, and always does fantastic work. He is friendly and helpful, and his rates are more than fair. Thanks again James! You’re the best! :)

This man presents well, seems to promise work carefully and well-done. That first meeting, if you do hire him to do work, will be the last pleasant experience you have with James Badillo(owner). I gave him the name of the two colors used to paint my house. Rather than check himself or confirm which was body and which was trim, he bought 750. worth of the wrong paint. Not impressed with his intelligence, but feeling sorry for the guy, I agreed to pay for the unusable paint. Each day he arrived at work, not the professional he first appeared to be, but a complaining nuisance, who kept reporting problem after problem… This is, mind you, after he had all the time he needed in the world to give me a price and receiving almost ½ of it upfront before any work was completed. Fortunately, I was able to be out of town for the remainder of the work, which my 82 yo mother stopped by to supervise. He consistently asked for additional money claiming he had finished work, which he had not. His attention to detail in both painting and clean-up was C+ generously. I felt bad for my mother having to deal with him, so I wrote him his last check and thought, I’ll choose better next time. It gets better. I paid him electronically through Chase, which showed the check was delivered, but not cashed. The day after returning home from vacation, he tells me he’s filed a small claim against me and I have to appear the next day. So, I had to go through the work of printing out all the receipts of checks, notices from Chase, which, fortunately, I had kept and call him up. He still failed to understand. So, I got my attorney on the phone with him and he, in clearer, sharper language, I imagine, made it clear that this man had been over-paid and been completely unprofessional and a pain in the neck to deal with… he even wrote me emails about«angry Gods» getting me. Feel free to contact me(and the ½ dozen or so others who witnessed these shenanigans) or better yet, STEARCLEAR of Exquisitely PAINFUL Painting.

My girlfriend and I recently needed a contractor to hang her aerial acrobatic hoop in our apartment. The rigging has to withstand nearly 1000 lbs of shock force, and we needed it mounted to a joist without damaging our antique tin ceilings. In addition, we wanted it to look nice as it’s going to be a permanent fixture in our home. James Badillo of Exquisite Painting Plus was referred to us by a friend and he did an absolutely incredible job for a price that was much less than we expected to pay. He showed up right on time, he was very friendly and helpful, and he had done a great amount of research beforehand on aerial rigging to make sure it would be safe for her to practice on. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing home repair or restoration work done, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience! If you’re in the NYC area and need a contractor, give him a call!
