I’ve used a few small engine repair places in the area and Quantz is the best hands down. They might not have the very cheapest price you can find for a given repair, but everything they do is done right or they’ll do it again(which they’ve done for me) and they won’t rip you off. Also they might tell you there’s a long wait time over the phone but that’s because they don’t want to make a promise they can’t keep, it will probably be done sooner. And finally, they’ll come pick up your lawn mower for $ 25. What more could you want?

Recently took my 10-year old Lawn Boy push mower there for what was believed to be a worn out transmission. Mower is in good shape but it has been heavily used over 10-years. Dropped it off on a Saturday morning and also asked that they look it over for any other issues. They said they would call early in the week with their findings. I was called early on Tuesday morning and informed that a bearing(not the transmission) had worn out causing the gears to be misaligned. They also felt that the engine surging I had mentioned was related to a bad carburetor, possibly the result of a poor fitting aftermarket air cleaner I was using. They said it was cheaper to replace the carb than repair it. The complete carb was only $ 30! I had expressed an interest in a new mower when I was there, anticipating that the repair costs might exceed the value of the mower. I was pleased that they didn’t try to sell me on a new mower right away. When they phoned with the estimate, they could have easily told me my mower wasn’t worth fixing, but they didn’t. I authorized the repairs and they said they would order the necessary parts. On Friday morning I picked up the mower. Everybody was friendly and knowledgeable throughout my experience. They even helped me with a warranty issue on a Simplicity snowblower that the local authorized Simplicity dealer hasn’t acted upon despite repeated attempts. The mower runs great and moves and turns smoothly now. I would certainly recommend this facility to others!

They have twice worked on my John Deere 318 lawn tractor, but now refuse to work on John Deere equipment. I don’t get it.

You have to be very careful with this place. I brought my mower there and they gave me a list of recommendations to maintenance or repair my mower. Since the cost was more than double what I paid I began to rationalize what required repair v what could wait or not do at all. So I called and discussed with the owner what I wanted done and he told me that he wouldn’t do any of the repairs if he couldn’t do all of them. I was a little shocked. He proceeded to give me a line that if he didn’t repair the mower and something happened while I was using it that he would be liable.

They fixed my Husqvarna riding mower perfectly and sharpened the blades. Great find.

I was on the search for a new mower, and had pretty much decided on what I was going to buy, however, where to buy was the question. Quantz came up as a Toro Master Service dealer(meaning their top rated). I decided to check them out. They met my expectations, very friendly, took the time to answer all my questions about the two models I was considering. They gave me a fair price for my trade in. I expect if I ever have to take my mower in for service I would expect to get the same great service.
