Great selection! I always find the best books here — books I’ve never even heard of or have even thought of reading. It’s a great place to go if you’re just looking for something new. It’s also got comfy seating and a relaxed atmosphere. The staff doesn’t pressure you to buy, and even takes time to get to know you and what you’re looking for. It feels like more than just a business. Also a great place for kids! Huge selection of books for all ages, and even a little reading nook! ^.^

This is a nice enough place. Neat and clean, but small and not much variety. My biggest problem has been they seem to not value my business quite as much because of politics. I’ve gone in looking for books by Glenn Beck(NY Times best-sellers!) and gotten a derisive smirk and«No we don’t have that» on more than one occasion. Now they can run their business any way they want to, I have no problem with that. I decide where to spend my money though, and I’ve given up going there all together. If those Michael Moore and Paul Krugman books and the people who only read that kind of stuff pays the bills, then more power to you. You apparently never needed my business anyway.

Bill and his staff are very helpful and will special order any books they don’t have in stock. The shelves are teeming with array of genre. It’s a true gem to have this bookstore in Oswego.

I’ve been a fan of The River’s End quite literally since the day it opened. Aside from the nicely curated selection of books, magazines, and Moleskines, the staff is always super friendly, and Bill is a great guy. The store also holds a ton of events, from midnight release parties for things like the Harry Potter books to book signings/readings with authors like Laurie Halse Anderson(who noted in one of her books that she’d written the opening pages in the big chair in the store). The atmosphere is just generally pleasant, and the store is nicely decorated — the lighthouse is a nice touch. Oswego is lucky to have a place like this.

A great find! Oswego is spoiled to have an independent book seller. Bill keeps a nice selection of books, magazines, and newspapers available. The staff is very helpful and can help track down a book for you if it’s not on the shelf. Also, they host frequent book readings and signings by local authors.

Great indie bookstore. Really knowledgeable staff. Good selection. Nice to still see a smart, well-stocked indie(ie: NOT a chain) bookstore in town. One of the 1st places I go to buy gifts…

A great local book store in a town that hasn’t had a good local book store in years. The River’s End has been around long enough now to be established, and I’m glad they’ve been able to stick around. I make a point of buying at least one book from here, and chatting with the friendly staff, every time I’m home visiting my family. Nothing beats a clean, well-lit places to read books!
