Awesome spice shop in downtown Oswego near the railroad tracks. This is my go to place for my spice needs. They also create unique and one of a kind gift boxes for any occasion. Everything is reasonably priced and the service is helpful and very pleasant! I

This is important!!! Do not, I repeat, DONOT buy your spices at a grocery store. Buy them at Sage Spice Shop. You may think that buying spices at a small specialty shop would be more costly but you would be very wrong. The prices are much more affordable than the grocery store AND, since spices lose their potency over time, you get a fresher product shopping here. I stop in here at least once a month and stock up. They have tea, dried foods, herb blends and gifts too! They supply local restaurants and breweries. We have a home brew operation and purchase our spices here(chamomile, coriander, and orange peel — amazing in our wit beer). I love to cook and have tried many of the spice blends. I recently tried their dried cheddar jalapeño blend and made a cheesy southwest corn and rice dish with it — incredible! I regularly get the garlic powder, oolong tea, crushed red pepper flakes, himalayan pink sea salt and more. The workers/owner are super helpful and friendly. It’s a small shop but not typically too busy so you are able to get some individual attention. It’s worth a visit!

Stop buying the stuff in jars that has been sitting on shelves for months at your local chain grocery store. Shop here and support an amazing local business run by friendly people! Sage has fresh spices and herbs that they grind only as needed, making their offerings far superior in flavor than anything you’ve bought previously. Not only are they fresher and more flavorful, the variety in this store is huge! Last time I was in, they had about seven kinds of salt and almost as many kinds of pepper. That’s just a start! I’ve never seen Madagascar vanilla beans at such reasonable prices and seldom have shopkeepers been more knowledgable or helpful than the great folks at Sage.

Sage Spice Shop is a great addition to downtown Oswego. It has the feel of the bigger city spice stores but with an extra measure of personal service and expert subject matter knowledge. The feeling is very intimate and the options for exploration are incredible. While this visit was to restock my fresh vanilla and nutmeg supply I also took the opportunity to try their house Rustic Rub and Sage’s Steak Seasoning. The steak seasoning was a little too texturally rough for my taste but in a moment the staff had taken the seasoning for another trip through the mill and it came out perfect. It’s all about customer service! Having this much variety and expertise in such close proximity to my home is definitely going to up my cooking game. I doubt you’ll ever see me in the grocery store spice aisle again. Two more great things at Sage Spice Shop. He carries a diverse selection of dried teas that will temp your teapot. And, *angels singing in heaven*, the candied ginger. Oh. My. The candied ginger! I know this is an acquired taste for a lot of people, but this was some of the best I have tasted. Score big points for a small independent business in Oswego. Go there. You will not be disappointed! (They will also be at the Oswego Farmer’s Market all this summer.)

Small, intimate little spice shop located in downtown Oswego. Come for the free smells of freshly ground aromatic spices, leave with all you need to season any dish you wish! I came for the ghost peppers. There under $ 7 for nearly 30 of them. They are whole, with the seeds intact. They also have pure vanilla extract from different parts of the world. Nothing like the imitation stuff you get from the grocery. Support the little guy, and your taste buds. And don’t forget your punch card!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. I like cooking and care greatly about the quality of the food my family and I eat. This wonderful shop provides not only an amazing selection of herbs and spices but they are chopped/ground in house! No additives in these spices. It’s fresh pure goodness. The portions are extremely generous and prices are far cheaper than the junk at the grocery store. Do yourselves a favor and shop here. It’s awesome.

Great people! Great spices and gifts! I chose to support the local guy after deciding not to get my spices from whole foods. GREATCHOICE. Paul was super helpful and wasn’t pushy for me to buy more than I stopped in for(even though I did!) I found out that this place has not only individual spices, but ready-made grilling mixes and marinades. They have loose leaf teas as well! Great local heart felt gifts for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, this is where I’m going at least. I will be back!
