The Brush Works

We purchased a Living Social voucher for The Brush Works. We live in Naperville and needed one of our bathrooms painted. I was a little concerned reading the reviews here after my purchase, but Mike was great. We scheduled a time that worked for both of us and he showed up right on time. He had all the tools needed, I had the paint and he got right to it. He did two coats and even the ceiling over the shower, which I didn’t expect him to do. He was really friendly and did the job fast. I would consider him for painting other areas of the house as well. Thank you Mike!

First I must say, Mike, I think you’re a nice person, however… this is the fool me, shame on you, shame on me concept
Referred Mike to my boss for exterior painting, and main office interior. Very slow to get to the exterior but looks ok. Mike offered to do interior for free (small room) if exterior job was given which it was. Entire area behind file cabinets left unpainted, pieces of boarder left ripped and hanging, they only went as far as could reach without moving anything and there are multiple, multiple, multiple spots missed and areas that clearly not enough paint was used because you can see the white paint underneath (painted a warm beige). Contacted Mike several times to come back to fix, he’d state a day and time, no show. I called again, he said he was sick but didnt call and after a chat rescheulded again. No show again. Apparently Mike is unaware we see him driving by the office in passing «all the time» but we cant seem to get him here for touch ups. IF this is what free gets you, boy, what do paying customers get? Thanks Mike, for the egg on my face and making me feel like an ASS to my boss for referring you! Never doing that again… I believe in supporting ALL local businesses… but not this one.
And you need to change your voicemail it says «and remember, when you’ve hired the brushworks you’ve hired the best»
On an additonal note, the BOSS was happy with the «exterior work» not interior and prior to agreeing to painting it was specifically asked if the file cabinets would be moved and painted behind, which was answered to as YES.

very poor work. didn’t prep walls/​ceilings at all, got paint on our cabinets and carpet, spots he missed that i have to go back and touch up.
was on time and courteous but i wish i just did it myself
