I gave this a two star because the burgers were alright. We got $ 90 worth of food. A twisted pb&j burger, two build your own burgers, a thanksgiving turkey burger, miso soup, crab rangoon, and three different choices of sushi. I have had sushi near and far. Wherever we go, if we eat out, we’re eating sushi. I have no idea if everyone posting reviews just hasn’t had great sushi before but this is by far the worst sushi I have ever had from a restaurant.(not counting Kroger sushi which is quite gross) We ate one of each and threw it away. The rice was mush and none of the flavors complimented each other well. I was pretty upset about the whole thing because we spent a lot of money but the WORST part about it is, my mom who is 57 had never tried sushi before and this was her first experience having it. Needless to say I will be taking her to Chicago to go to our favorite restaurant to make sure she gets to experience the good stuff.(Which you get more of and is also cheaper). I think a lot of the reviews are people supporting local business, people who know the staff, or because from what I hear the owners are nice people. The food however… not so nice.

Both sides of the restaurant were great individually, and cocktails were good. If you do go I’d recommend sticking to one side of the restaurant because switching from fried appetizers to sushi felt very wrong! Elvis burger was great and had a nice kick!

Burgers are very good. The service is hit and miss. The sushi isn’t the greatest especially if you’ve had sushi anywhere next to an ocean. Despite the bad I do recommend this place it’s a modern atmosphere.

I was skeptical about a place that serves burgers and sushi, but thought, what the heck? So happy we detoured off the interstate, this place is amazing!!! The Crabby Patty burger, a burger with crab ragoon mix, fried wontons, and sweet and sour sauce was super tasty! We will definitely be back to try many other yummies on their menu.

I’m always hesitant to order sushi this far from the coast, but BASH has always come thru! Love the sashimi, and their burgers are first-rate. The selection of crafts beers is good, though not great, but you won’t have trouble finding something that you like.

I loved this. It was perfectly done. Everything was excellent. The wait staff was awesome and it totally made me realize my thoughts about Ottawa were incorrect. I wish they had this in champaign(expand!)

Meh. The raw sushi is good, but I’ve never seen a sushi restaurant with a special menu for cooked sushi! Must be a Lay-Salle special. The mac and cheese is not great. Good beer selection, but now you can go to Lone Buffalo for the beer. If you want mediocre food and don’t mind paying a high price, go to BASH. That’s all fine, but my main complaint is the atmosphere in this place. The cement floors and metal chairs make for an uncomfortable dining experience. Additionally the décor lends itself to poor acoustics, so good luck hearing your dining companions talk!

Large selection of sushi! Reasonable prices especially for the quality of sushi. I recommend the Ottawa roll but honestly I liked all rolls. Make sure to order a baked roll also. They have a good beer selection to add to it and the truffle fries and tasty. Also if you have and room left over make sure to order«a girls best friend». We did not try the burgers but we will be back to do that!

They’ve got delicious vegetarian burger. There aren’t that many vegeterian restaurants in the area. Also, great palce to watch sports with your friends

Good atmosphere and friendly staff I had the sushi and crab rangoons. Rangoons were great. The three stars rating was because the sushi sticky rice had been cooked with way too much water, which after a while made you feel bloated and it affected the flavor of the sushi. Other that the rice the rest of the sushi was very good. Overall place was good, worthy of another try.

I’m just a little disappointed in the sushi. I’ve been to Union Station in River North, and that was pretty good. Here you have to buy the whole roll instead of half, so your stuck with one roll if you don’t like it. The flavor was forgettable. Other than that, I don’t know what the hype is for.

This place would be a gem anywhere in America, in Ottawa it has a cult following. This place is a must stop of your within a 100 miles of it. Food is amazing

The sushi rolls were excellent. The family and I split 4 rolls. After I had the twisted pb&j burger and was very surprised at how good it was. I would recommend BASH to anyone looking for a good night out with friends. The only downside was the service was a little slow, but the place was pretty packed.

A restaurant that specializes in burgers and sushi? WTF was the first reaction. After reading the reviews, we knew we had to try it and we were not disappointed! We were in town because we went to Starved Rock earlier in the day. We found BASH through Unilocal and it just so happened– half the group was craving sushi and the other half burgers. Everyone got a win! I didn’t have the sushi, but from what the group was saying, it was out of this world. The burgers were top notch. The parmesan truffle fries, stop, I’m salivating right now! I would like to go back every weekend and visit this special gem of a place.(Also, the sushi chefs were telling us how Benihana’s wants to buy the restaurant and develop it into a chain. Fingers crossed it makes its way into Chicago!) The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of the service. We were waiting around 10 – 15 minutes after we sat down for someone to even come over and get our drink order. But after that point, we didn’t have any issues. I would definitely recommend it!

This was one of the best dinning experiences that we have had in a long time and it was in no small part to our server Emily W. After sitting down and looking over the menu B.A.S.H will certainly get more then a few strange looks from new customers. The Menu is full of original ideas that seem so far out there that ordering them is half the fun just waiting to see how this combination can possibly be good enough and then you take that first bit and you are shocked on how good that crazy combination really is. First off we ordered Crab Ragoon which was crispy and filled with the crab mix with a sweet and sour sauce it was a great way to start off the night. We also ordered the Truffle Parmesan Fries to split with our main dishes. Sea Salt, White Truffle Oil, and Parmesan Cheese on hot crispy fries these are very good and it’s one of those things that i put on the you must experience them yourself. My wife ordered the Philadelphia Sushi Roll which is smoked salmon, cream cheese and cucumber. Fairly simple sushi roll but was well made and tasted very good. I ordered the Twisted PB&J which is peanut butter, strawberry jelly, bacon and Sriracha. i asked Emily W about it and she said it was really good so that’s what i ordered and Thank you Emily W. This Burger was one of my favorite burgers of all time. Sweet, spicy, savory and peanut butter how can you go wrong with that. So just when we think we are done Emily W comes in like an up sales ninja and gets us to order Dessert which is a Fried pound cake stuffed with cinnamon and brown sugar ice cream, sweet cream sauce, Carmel and crushed pecans. This monster was a great way to end the night. I’m diabetic and it was worth the high blood sugar lol. I love seeing restaurants step away from the norm and get creative and totally pull it off. B.A.S.H is a must try if you are anywhere close to Ottawa or like my wife and I we live and hour & a half away still worth it. I hope anyone reading this finds it helpful.

Horrible service, 45 min wait for food(we only ordered burgers and an appetizer!), other tables that got sat down after us got their food first, appetizer came out AFTER the burgers, egg was completely uncooked on one side so much so that it was just goo, burgers patties were COLD by the time they came out… we were there to celebrate with a friend and it turned into a complete nightmare. The waiter didn’t even do anything or explain why the service was so bad other than«That’s how it is tonight» and«That’s how it’s supposed to be»… Not going to lie, I hippie she gets fired because that’s completely rude. Not to mention the 25 min wait for the check AFTER she took our plates. Seriously!!! I would’ve rather gone to McDonald’s at that point. At least I would’ve gotten nicer service and a warm meal. Now that’s saying something.

So at first the thought of going to a burger and sushi joint was a little off putting, but I do love a good burger and sushi. So what the heck, why not give it a try. It was very busy when we arrive, we were seated right of way, and had an amazing waitress + trainee. She was very knowledgable of the entire menu and beer menu. We tried several sushi roll, all great, the Mac and cheese burger, mushroom Swiss, and the truffle fries. OMG the truffle fries are so good! It seems like you can’t go wrong here, with a decent amount of burger options there is sure to be something you will like. I can’t wait to get up here again and try something else. And if you dip your Mac and cheese burger in the truffle sauce, it’s a foodies euphoria.

Excellent for casual dinning or date night. A friend and I sat outside to enjoy nice weather that comes around every blue moon around these parts. I had Basarita for cocktail, Crab Rangoon, and Vacation sushi rolls. Specialty drink was delicious. Food was excellent! Not just any place can pull off sushi. Very tasty. Love the special sauce that was on sushi and with crab Rangoon. Friendly staff. I just a came from San Diego and this place is comparable to some of the finer restaurants I’ve been too in the city.

I’ll be honest… We were looking for something to eat after visiting Starved Rock. A local couple pointed us towards Bash and we thought“burgers and sushi”? Well we went in blind. * the layout was great. *Hostess was helpful * waitress was great and friendly * I had the Watts burger. Honestly, the burger itself had no taste. The chorizo was more like chili. * The Cajun fries were a bit peppery, I love seasoned fries but gosh they were awful * she had the mac and cheese burger and she loved it. * truffle Fries were amazing * we had the deep fried iced cream and that it self redeemed

How is this cool place existing in … Ottawa?!? Used to be the old Montgomery Wards catalog store. This place is super cute and the food is excellent. Odd combination of gourmet burgers and sushi menus but I like it! Very trendy décor. I ordered a Lincoln Yellowtail roll and it had some sort of red sauce that was HOT! Loved it also ordered a Philadelphia roll. My friends ordered some rolls which I can’t remember what they were — see my pix. Also had Thai Donuts mmm mm Service was fast and friendly. Our server was helpful in recommending rolls and burgers. She was honest about some items which I appreciate including the red wine. I would be back the next time I’m in town!
