This is the best «gringo» Mexican food in the USA. I should know, I own a National food corporation. Do yourself a favor and eat here. It’s ridiculously good.

We decided to change our course coming back home from the Dakotas. We crossed over to Kansas from St. Joseph, Missouri and we stopped at Maria’s in Atchinson for dinner. It’s not a very elegant place but that’s fine. It’s clean and it’s convenient and the staff are attentive and friendly. The salsa is tasty and fresh. We both had a chimichanga (beef) with a white cheese sauce. I don’t care for that kind of sauce but this was okay. It was served with beans and rice and a little dab of guacamole and sour cream. It was tasty enough but not as savory as a lot of Mexican places. Still, it was acceptable and appeared to be quite popular with the locals. We would definitely stop here again.
