I wish we had this place in the Quad Cities. The menu has something for everyone from grilled cheese to mussels to steaks. Pricing is not over the top. Even the kid’s menu is sophisticated but not pricy. The staff is friendly. Glad we found this place whilst driving through.

Hubby loved the garbage burger and really dug the battered fries. My salad was very good and the catfish poboy was just OK. Love the interior and the fact that it is downtown. 01÷09÷16 Edited to 5 stars based on tonight’s dinner. Chicken Marsala and Bistro Steak Balsalmic Bleu were excellent. Brown ale was pretty good, but it wasn’t in the same league as Newcastle. Service was great, as usual.

Probably the nicest restaurant in town. Great food and beer options. The décor and inside of the building was very well kept and welcoming. I would come here again! I’d recommend the the chicken mushroom pot pie. The pie part was beyond flakey and absolutely delicious.

First off, it’s hard to find a place that immediately makes you feel like they’re fully prepared to deal with your toddlers. The bartender sat us and brought out a huge tub of glowsticks to let my girls choose from, which kept them entertained for the duration of the meal. THANKYOU! The beer selection was a pleasant surprise, and the bartender was happy to let us sample a few. Definitely go with their beer over other domestics. You have to, obviously! We were stunned at how good the mussels were. Whatever broth they braised them in, we ended up eating like soup. The kids menu had steak on the menu, which was a shock. We ordered that and grilled cheese with fries for the kids, and they loved it all. My husband ordered a bbq bacon burger, which he said was kinda whatevs. Way too bbq sauce, overpowered the whole thing. The only reason I’m knocking a star on this place is because I actually saw our server(not the bartender) turn away an elderly couple. They went to sit down and she said, «if you want to wait an hour to get your food, I’m just warnin’ ya» with a snide tone. I guess she was just giving them fair warning, if it was even true, but I’m sure the owner would not have been happy about it. Or, she could have said it a little nicer. She was really nice to us, and very attentive too. Maybe she just had an off moment? It happens!

This place has a great menu. It is a great restored building with cool design. The brunch on Sundays is excellent. Love this place. One of my all-time favorites!

Great food, great beer and excellent service. Had the blonde and raspberry beer, both were excellent. Also had a great salad. Highly recommend.

I’m glad to have visited this place. It’s been so hard to find a good place to eat in Ottumwa, which is why this place excels so much. They serve your typical pub fare with a few unique options for appetizers. Their sandwiches seemed like pretty solid choices(I can personally vouch for the Cuban). I like that you can choose between beer battered fries or a side salad with your meal depending on your mood. And what kind of brewery would they be if they didn’t have a few of their brews on tap? They had their own red, IPA, blackberry porter, and pale on tap while I visited, plus 5 – 6 taps with other beers. Just a good place with nice staff and a great vibe.

Food is good. Menu lacks variety. Maybe look at one before you sit down or you may find yourself in my shoes: wanting to leave, but feeling trapped by the bartender/server staring in our direction. The fish & chips are what I got on a whim and they were great.

Hands down the best place to eat in Ottumwa. They have a nice variety of beer and the food is fantastic. It is a bit pricey but it is well worth it. Service is nice and professional. The décor is cute. It’s a nice addition to this small town.

Good atmosphere with a good variety of beers. Their home brews are very tasty. I am not a fan of IPA’s but I did have their cream ale, irish red, and their stout. All three were not bitter at all which is what I prefer. There are a lot of unique food combinations and everyone I was with enjoyed their dishes. I look forward to going again.

Good beer and good food. We ate here several times during our visit. The beef(any) was amazing! Good beer – reminds me of Tui in New Zealand.

Service was great we just recently moved from California and we love the quality of food and it’s so high end for this area. We loved the drinks and the prices are great! The service was awesome our waitress let us taste the beer before we ordered helped us decide what kind we wanted and the beer was really good! I can’t wait to go there for date night again! I recommend to all to try this plave atleast once.

Fantastic! Great atmosphere and décor. They handled our very large group without missing a beat. The service was perfect and the food is delicious. Great tenderloin! We visited several times during our stay in ottumwa, including the brunch which was also very good. Wish I would have had time for a regular dinner… next time. A real asset to Ottumwa.

Very cool brewery! Sticks out like a sore thumb on the otherwise rundown Main Street. Charming appearance with plenty of room given to each table and booth. Large bar area as well. We ordered the TCB burger and the garbage burger and both were a perfect medium and very juicy! Our cocktails were on the weak side, which was our only complaint. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. Check this place out if you happen to be in Ottumwa!

Food is decent. I was confused as to why they don’t have a list of their beverages. It’s a «BREWINGCOMPANY». The waitress had to go and look at what they have when I asked. Kind of confused me.

Unexpected find in this small town. Interesting interior. The menu looks cool but I wish the food, and more importantly the beer, was better. My shrimp bisque starter was just ok. Not enough shrimp or cream or sherry flavor to make me consider ordering it again or recommending it to you. My Wedge Salad(which I see is not on the menu at this time) was delicious. I may have considered 4 stars… if that salad had been on this moment’s menu. If you come here and it is, get it. W got the Boursin Stuffed Chicken and enjoyed it. I didn’t try a bite but it looked fine. We have coworkers who rave about their steak and get it every time they come to town, but we were on the company dime and couldn’t afford their steak prices. The beer was a disappointment to me. They did not have a large variety — pretty sure I tried the 4 they had available as a sampler, and the majority were fruity. Meh. Not my style. The evening we were there, the place was and stayed pretty empty. I think they benefit from a lack of competition.

Decent food, but over priced. The menu is actually pretty boring… plain-Jane. They haven’t quite figured out how to brew their own beer yet. It’s kind of sad that they call themselves a brewing company when there’s usually only one sub-par beer of theirs on tap.

Tenderloin sliders and the Shrimp Bique were a perfect dinner combo for me! I wished I had room for dessert because the PB&J Sundae sounded fantastic. Very pleasant and attentive waitstaff. The food was prompt and exactly to order. Downtown Ottumwa is in sad shape, but ARBC is worth it. I admire the owners for investing in Downtown Ottumwa. Hopefully others will follow and the area can get a bit of a revival.

Location really questionable. :) Clearly the owners are taking huge risk being downtown amongst decaying buildings and the railroad tracks. Food was outstanding. Beer was just OK. Service great. I’d hoped for a view of some nature on the back patio; sadly it overlooks the parking lot and the trains are really loud. But, still a great place to sit when the weather is nice. Sadly they only have three house beers on tap at a time. As a longtime homebrewer and general beer geek, I’d say the beer is average homebrew quality with a bit of «extract tang». The stout was more like a porter; needed way more mouth feel and deeper grain bill.
