After returning to Ida’s to assist a close friend with her dress hunt, I am still a fan of this place. I will say that we got off to a little bit of a rocky start, since their location’s «front» check-in is actually in the back of the store… and they still call it the«front»…there was quite a bit of standing around with no assistance. We were finally directed to a changing room and our sales associate set us loose on all the dresses in the store. This experience was a bit different from mine, as our associate allowed us to actually pull dresses for the bride-to-be…and then let us dress her! At first, I was a little put off by this, but I have to say that it actually made the entire experience so much more personal and engaging. I was with two other ladies and we were able to clip the bride into dress after dress. It was a great expereince! We were also able to bring in mimosa fixings, which was lovely! Our bride found her dress at Ida’s for well under budget and was able to buy the Maggie Sottero gown of her dreams. I would still recommend Ida’s to any bride. They never try to upsell you and they really create a comfortable atmosphere in which to find your dream dress.

The front desk girl is PLAIN rude– from the time I made my appointment to shop at the store, and from the time I got my veil. I bought a custom made Veil. i needed it certain color and style. She charged me FULL price, by accident. Ummm. excuse me— your policy is paying for half of it at the time of order and the remaining half at the time of pick up. And when I pointed it out to her, she was annoyed that she had to rectify the charges. In addition, They had an entire MONTH to make it since I don’t live in KC, when it usually takes it a couple of weeks. I called a week before to check for pick up. guess what– ITHADNT even been made yet! Once I got there, a JOKE! The edges oif the tulle was embarassing.– like a little kid took a pair of scissors and zig zagged thru it. And the hem was not even cleanly sewn— since one layer was corded. the tulle was poking out of the corded hem. The girl said ” I can’t believe you’re pointing that out.“ And I can’t believe ANYONE who would allow such poor qaulity of work past through, esp when someone ‘s paying that much for a custom veil! And seriously, I can’t believe anyone would respond that way. Thankfully, the owner came out, and saw these defects with her own eyes, and agreed to make another veil. for the Owner, and how she handled this situation: 5 stars. Quality Control: 1 star. but if I were her, the owner, i would have a «talk».
