Be careful of the hard sell on protection plan and NOT delivery the said protection! I ordered a pair of sun glasses with progressive lenses for driving last year. Heather, the store manager said how wonderful the protection plan was if anything should happen to them within a year. «we will get you a complete new pair!», even in the case of nothing happened to them and I just wanted to have a new pair as long as they were the same or similar frame. So 10 months later, my lenses scratched and one leg felt funny and I went in and ordered another pair under the protection plan and paid 54 dollars(I was told that if it’s a complete pair, I needed to pay $ 25 for each lens). And when I went to pick them up, I was told that they could only let me have them unless I turn in my broken pair which I did not have anymore. Heather, the store manager said it was in the policy that the original pair had to be turned in. But that was first time I heard about it! «That is in the fine print», Heather said. Obviously, it was my fault that I did not not go home and study the fine print! I paid I believe, 30 – 40 dollars for the plan and another 54 dollars for getting the replacement pair and I have nothing to show for! Three people in my family wear glasses and we have been their customers for over 10 years. I will stay away from LensCrafters from now on.

We have 4 people in the family that come to LensCrafters about every two years. This, we’ve made quite a few trips here over the years. In the past, we’ve had both good and bad experiences. However the new manager is great! Forget the glasses. They are always pricey, and pretty much the same everywhere. Things that make this place special include: 1) on a hot summer day, they made a customer bring their do in from the car so he wouldn’t be too hot. 2) in picking out glasses for my daughter this time, they went out of their way to find similar frames in different price levels for the best value for their current promotion. 3) when my youngest had a problem with her frames, they replaced them and drove to another store to get the replacements faster than having to order it. 4) when my grandson had to accompany me while my second oldest and wife were getting their frames, they pulled out a bunch of toys and told us we could be as loud as a 2 year old boy needed to be to stay entertained. 5) finally, they are conveniently located next to a Starbucks for drowning your sorrows after spending a boat load of money. We always go to this LensCrafters even though we’ve moved further away over time.

For someone who has worn glasses since I was 7, I’ve had my share of experience with optical stores. This one is the worst. I was told they could make my glasses in an hour(isn’t that the only reason anyone goes to LensCrafters?) so I could have them prior to going on vacation. However after waiting in the store for over an hour just to get assistance then spending another hour selecting frames, I was told that it was not possible to get my glasses in an hour. What’s worse is the misinformation was given to me by the store manager. I could go on and on but I’ll just say that three months later, I still did not have new glasses I could see out of and resorted to wearing my old ones. I ended up having the district manager give me a full refund. I should’ve had them comp me for all the visits, phone calls, and fruitless time I spent waiting for them to get the glasses made correctly. It seems others have had similar experiences with LensCrafters and I will say with 100% certainty that I will never attempt to get glasses made at any LensCrafters ever again.
