Looked for a good place to eat while staying in Kansas City on Unilocal and found Old Chicago. Decided to try it and this place is fantastic. Great food and great service. Definitely will eat here again. Give it a try. :-)

We have always enjoyed going to OC in other locations but this was the first visit here. Decently busy as one would expect for a Saturday night in JoCo, and a server that hadn’t been there long. She did know the menu pretty well, though. There was some sort of mix up in the kitchen with our order, and the manager came over right away to let us know once he found out. We weren’t in a hurry so it wasn’t a big deal. They compensated us with a free dessert, which was a fair gesture. Oddly enough, the thin pizza was thicker than the new«Ale» crust which is a hand tossed dough. Both were good, and we ours order them again.

This pizza is delicious, but probably the most fattening thing you’ll ever have in your life ever. Their meat me pizza would cure leprosy. Honestly I quit Peeta after I visited this place. But now I’m lactose intolerant, so this place is horrible — but on a positive note, they use real cheese apparently according to my colon, and it’s very high quality. Eat there. You will enjoy it, unless you’re lactose intolerant. If that’s the case you will die afterwards.

Good for beer and other bar food only. Who pays 12 bucks for a tiny pizza! Or 22 bucks for a 8″ deep dish pizza? And the pizza was ok ok as well. Definitely not a pizza chain.

While it can’t compare to my favorite place in Chicao, Giordano’s, I thought their pizza was pretty good and there was a great beer selection. Our waitress was pleasant and kept are drinks full the entire time. I’d recommend it for Happy Hour but not for a date or anything.

Lunch on a Friday. The hostess casually answering the phone with people waiting to be seated. Open bar seating. Our sever warned us she was new. She asked me what I wanted as a side to my panini. What are my choices? «I don’t know,» she said. Ok, so find out. I searched the menu for my options. In my experience with working restaurants, you’re not on the floor until you know the menu or at least your basics. My coworker’s pizza looked good and she enjoyed it. My panini was cool in the middle and even cold parts of chicken. The manager served us and asked if we needed anything else. Yes. Our request of ranch was too much I suppose? An attempt at flagging him down with my hand in the air while making eye contact… fail. We weren’t checked on ONCE during our meal. That’s pretty important. Come on guys. Get it together. 2 stars for getting us out of there in less than an hour.

FOODPOISONING! Eight the sausage Stromboli. Two hours later started getting the sweats diarrhea and violently vomiting. This continued through the night as I had to be hospitalized. My wife who just had one bite of my dish also vomited. After being released from the hospital in the morning I was still ill and bed ridden for a few days. Will be calling county health department and will demand the restaurant pay my hospital bill

Maybe it was the fact that my husband and I finally found«our» pizza(a pizza where we both 100% agree on toppings), or maybe it was because we were very hungry, but I thought the pizza was one of the best I have had in a while. We constantly dine at a local around the corner place, but the pizza was becoming more and more disappointing. Here’s what we ordered: Thin crust, red onions, spinach, tomatoes, pepperoni, extra sauce, and cut into squares. We ate a whole large to ourselves. I’m embarrassed, but it was THAT good to my taste buds! This location is kind of far from my house, but I would definitely return next time I’m hungry and in the area! We also got the fried zucchini as an appetizer. Comes with about 5 large pieces(but it’s only like $ 3.50 or something), so it’s small, but the price is low enough to compensate.

5 for service 3 for food. John anticipated our needs, keeping the rounds coming. It was happy hour so appetizers were cheaper, but the serving size of the chicken strips seemed to match the discounted price. the strips were tasty, but really thin.

Good beer and good vibe on this bar. Waitress in the bar was super friendly and helpful and knew her stuff about beer. I haven’t beer to an OC since I lived in AZ so was nice to be back.

Important Note: For folks looking for Chicago style, this is closer to pan pizza. That thin crust that lines the pan in the sides and extends to the bottom was not there. We ordered the Chicago 7. I like the good mix of ingredients however there were too many black olives and it was missing that layer of sauce/toppings that would have been caught by the missing crust. Cust Service=4 Food=3 Overall=2(while they have many chains and must be doing something right, I really wanted Chicago for that price)

We haven’t been to Old Chicago for a while, so we decided to give them another shot. We ordered the Italian nachos and an 8″ Chicago 7 pizza because we thought the nachos would be filling. And we were right! The Italian nachos were excellent! They were so filling that we got a box for the pizza. But beware! The nachos have a TON of banana peppers!

Exceeded my expectations! Sometimes a place just needs a good face lift, this seems to be a great example. I can’t say I had ever been in before the recent remodel, but judging by how few cars were in the parking lot previously versus now, I think that’s true for most people. After the grand re-opening the parking lot has been constantly full. I keep my eye out for things like that… I scheduled a business lunch and all five of us had a great time. LOVE the bar area. The large raised booths are quite comfortable and a fun place to spend an hour with colleagues. We were all quite intrigued by how many draft beers are on tap and within a week of our lunch meeting we came for happy hour. Both times the food was fantastic and our servers were enthusiastic and seemed to be enjoying themselves(imagine that!). I’ve had better pizza, that much is true of a lot of places, but this place is the whole package. Consider me a regular. Next on my «to eat» list is the«Oh my spaghetti pie». So far I’ve tried and loved: –Roasted Chicken & Walnut salad. –Chicken Pesto Panini lunch combo with fries and a bowl of bisque(wow, creamy, velvety tasty!) The fries may be some of the best I’ve ever had. What a surprise that was! –Chicago 7 flatbread pizza.

I thought I’d been missing Old Chicago, because it had been a few years, but the pizza wasn’t as good as I remember. Perhaps my tastes have changed, but there is much better pizza for better prices in the area. The service was very good, but the pizza was below average. I don’t like burned pizza, and the cheese tasted like it belonged on a Totino’s. If Totino’s or Jeno’s is a ‘D’, then this was a C. Even late night would have been a low grade.

Came here the other night after a meeting with some of the folks from the group. I hadn’t tried Old Chicago before, even though I’ve driven past it umpteen times. I ordered a small 8″ classic pizza, with sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and other stuff. It was reasonably priced at $ 10.95. I got the thick crust version. It was perfectly acceptable but I have to agree with Kay L. that it didn’t have real wow factor. The friends I was with split a larger pizza with veggie toppings and said it was good, and another person ordered one of the salads and seemed to enjoy it. Plusses are that Old Chicago is open late, the prices are reasonable, and our server was excellent — informed and attentive. If the pizza had a little more zing Old Chicago would easily earn a fourth star from me.

I’ve been trying really hard for this place to get back in good graces with me and I’ve come to settle on me being in the middle. Positives: Servers(most), bartenders, bar manager Jaime. Friendly people that make you feel like you are living an episode of Cheers(honestly the main reason I come here). The food is good. The mini tour parties are fun. I have completed enough tours for a mug so I feel like why should I stop now lol. The bad: the General Manager is rude and unfriendly… actually offensive. The things he’s said to my friend, my family, and me would blow your mind. The price, beers on average are about $ 4.50 a piece. Pretty steep when there’s plenty of places cheaper. Food… its good but not only is it expensive but as soon as you find something you like, menu changes and its gone. Big cookie-sigh. I used to love it but now they put oatmeal(yes, oatmeal) in it so it pretty much tastes like… well…oats. Ever since this new gm came, I’ve been told I can only have credit for the actual beers I drink… until another VIP member reminded me we can drink whatever we want and get credit… one of the only benefits from doing 10 tours. Realizing how many beers I’ve missed out on makes me a little irritated to say the least. That all being said-I keep coming back. There’s too many good things and people to let the negatives run me or some of the other regulars off… yet
