This salon in a gem! I love the location. Any of the stylists here are more than skilled to address my needs. I absolutley love the front entrance and the ease of getting into the salon without having to walk through the entire mall. The scalp massage before the cut is pure bliss, and my hand massage with my root touch up always puts me to sleep. Par Exsalonce always performs ways above par!

Par Exsalonce at Oak Park is absolutely wonderful. Upon moving to KC from NYC, I feared I would not find a stylist to measure up to my favorite, elite NYC salon. I had no reason to worry! Tori, the manager, is an incredible stylist who excels in consultations. She begins every appointment with «How is your hair doing?» and engages in insightful conversation to determine the best color and style. She takes my abstract needs (i.e. «I want to stay blonde, maybe just not SO blonde-ish?») and turns them into exactly what I’m looking for. She is always transparent about her recommendations and expectations before diving into a color or cut, so there are no surprises. She’s also the perfect conversationalist — Genuine, interesting, a good listener, a good talker, and not awkward if you just feel like being quiet. I drive from downtown KCMO to visit this salon, and will be a longtime client. It’s definitely worth the trip!

I need my roots touched up every few weeks, and most stylists cannot match color without a formula, so I was very fortunate to have Dana recommended to me. She not only was able to match my color by sight and get it right the 1^st time, she makes my hair look so good I do not need all over color only roots, which saves me both time and money. My daughter recommended her as a «sweetie», which she definitely is, but she is also very talented and professional. She is pleasant, thoughtful, quick to refill your beverage, and gives complimentary hand massages while the color is processing. It’s a pleasure to be her customer.

I believe my stylist’s name was Maria. worst haircut of my life! I said that my scalp was very tender from weird pregnancy hormones and asked that she be gentle. HA! She practically scraped my top layer of skin off, and then completely ignored me for the entire haircut. I brought in what I thought were reasonable inspiration pictures, and she cut a completely different, asymmetrical, much shorter cut. It took forever, I was dying of heat and pain by the time she was done, and then I had to wait 10 minutes to pay for the haircut I hated when their 10 employees stood around talking to each other instead of checking me out. If I hadn’t been so upset and flustered I would’ve spoken to a manager because I hate to pay for what I think was awful service, but I wanted to get out as fast as I could!

I usually go to salons up north because that is where I live. I went to this location because I work down south and on the spur of the moment, I decided I should get a haircut after work. I called at 2:00 and was able to get an appointment at 5;15. I went to a girl named Hannah. She made conversation to break the ice, but didn’t try to make some forced conversation and talk the whole time. I liked that because I am sort of a quiet person. I was tired from work and the scalp massage was great. She worked quickly and efficiently. She didn’t try to push products on me, which i appreciated. I got a good a haircut, quickly. If I need a haircut after work again, or if this salon were closer to my home, I would visit again.

I came here in September and had my hair tinted to be brighter and a cut. No one I know noticed any difference in my color but my stylist assure me when I came back for my appt in November, we could make it much brighter.
Fast forward til November, I call them the day before my scheduled appt just to make sure we’re still on as I’ve received no calls. They have no record of any appointment in their system.
Major disappointment. Very unprofessional and I won’t be back.

I used to get my haircut at great clips and sport cuts until my wife finally convinced me to try Aveda (where she gets her hair cut). It’s a good experience. Tori at the Oak Park Mall Location does a very good job with my hair. It feels REALLY good when it’s really cold out and they plunk that steaming hot towel on your face. The one thing on the price range rating, is that it is a little bit expensive (for a men’s cut).

New to the city I was nervous about entrusting a new stylist with my hair after my most recent «it pulled ginger» experience. However, Courtney at Par Exsalonance settled my nerves and listened to my needs 100%.
She covered my way overgrown roots and brightened my color with some beautiful and natural highlights.
Courtney was friendly and made my hair look great. She didn’t push any product on me and I will definitely be returning to see Courtney again (in about 6 weeks).
(The only reason why a 4 not a 5– some staff/stylists were busy doing their own hair– which diminishes the overall professionalism of the salon– but maybe it was just a slow day and maybe this is only me being nit-picky).

I was oh so glad when I was able to get a last minute appt. The stylist was adorable, I gave her free artistic license to cut how she wanted. It was our first time being together and I was not disappointed. Very nicely done. My hair is unruly, to put it mildly, and it was cut to give shape but not a ‘fro or bozo hair. I did miss the extra extras at the other location but the cucumber H2O tasted the same. A lovely experience. Just be aware that you will be basically in a window display, but the mall walkers don’t gawk.

I came here to get some Aveda makeup for my oral defense. The girl who helped me was a really great help & chose some great colors to go with my neutral look. A bit expensive, but Aveda makeup is really worth it. My skin is ultrasensitive (no Vitamin E, Vitamin C & any fruit enzymes), & Aveda makeup doesn’t give me allergic reactions.
